It’s winter, and soon it’s Christmas. Today I have created a wintercard using papers from the “Enjoying Outdoors” collection.

This card is a kind of easel card and I have decorated all parts of it.

Together with the Maja papers I have used an image from an old postcard, doilies, pearls, lace and flowers.

Hello Everyone <3

Today I want to start by telling you that this is my first blogpost with the new collection, Home for the Holydays and I’m thrilled that I can touch and feel these lovely sheets <3

Home-for-the-holidays-P

It’s me, Silje Kristin which will inspire you with three paper bags that I have decorated. The whole idea I got when I wanted to surprise a special person, with something I have close to my heart, my passion <3

I have decorated three brown paper bags and all the bags are decorated with pattern paper from the new collection, I’ve have used paper from the paper pad and the sheets 12×12. One is brown, the other is in red and the last one that stands a little out is blue.

Whoever, my favorite is the one in blue and it is also this one I made for someone I whant to have a special Christmas Eve <3

On the front of the bag I have used a image with a deer on.

The details around are pine needles, flowers, pine cones, stars, frosted berries and cheesecloth.

On the back side of the bag, I have placed two buttons, a bow in one and a flat dot on the top of the both buttons. Around the buttons I’ve used brown twinr to keep the bag close.

The one in brown, has much of the same details as the one in blue, but there are some differences.

The images on this bag is a girl in winter clothes, I have cut here out from a sheet with several image. The deer and the Santa Claus is from the same sheet.

The details are the same, just that some of them are brown. The flowers are from Wild Orchids, the needles was a Christmas decorations that I clippet in pices, so I could use it for this project.

On the back, you can se that the details are the same, here you can also see all the brown half pearls which I have attached in every corner.

God Jul is a dies from kaBoks, God Jul is the norwegian word for Merry Christmas.

The last bag and the one in red, I have chosen to make it with real Christmas Spirit.

The puch, you can see on all the paper bags are a punch from Martha Stewart, called Eyelet Lace.

On the paper bags and on the pattern sheets are all Distresses with Distress Ink Ground Espresso, I do this to give the bags a vintage Christmas / Winter feeling.

Now you’ve seen my special gift bags and I look forwars to being able to give away the other two for someone that means a lot to me <3

I wish you all a great sunday <3

cathy - Home for the holidays 7

Hello everyone! I cannot believe how quickly the time is passing. The month is nearly and over and my year at school is nearly over as well (I’m doing a happy dance atm). It feels strange creating a wintery Christmas card to share with you as Christmas in Australia is simply the opposite…as we celebrate Christmas in summer! However I couldn’t resist the wonderful images in the beautiful collection Home For the Holidays.

I love the blue tones of the papers. I created my own poinsettias using Magnolia Christmas Poinsettia dies. I applied some Ruby Rock-It Snow White Course Glitter on top of them to add some shimmer. The foliage is die cut using Tim Holtz Holiday Greens and the tag is also from the Tim Holtz Tag Collection. I incorporated my sentiment here as well which is from JustRite.

I used a Memory Box Catalina Wreath and die cut it twice. By placing it slightly off centre, it created a lovely shadow effect.

I am slowly creating my Christmas cards…I haven’t made a dent into my intended target but once school finishes and all my deadlines are met I can really get stuck in and get creating. I have ideas but sadly only 24 hours in a day (sigh).

Hi! I'm Cathy. I live in Sydney and am a Primary School teacher. I am passionate about teaching and love what I do. At present paper crafts are my creative outlet, which is my other passion. I am drawn to vintage, shabby chic styled crafts which I love to create. I do enjoy other crafts such as sewing, quilting, knitting and crotchet…not enough time! I am always inspired to learn and to try new techniques in both teaching and my crafts. I love Maja Design papers and enjoy creating with them.

Some days ago I received the new Christmas papers from the “Home for the Holidays” collection, and I felt totally in love with the lovely colours in the papers. Today I have made a Christmas card with some of the blue tone papers.

Together with the new papers I have used an image of a traditional Norwegian gnom. In Norwegian he is called “nisse” and he is known for that he guards all the farm animals. In old days they always placed a bowl of rice porridge for him outdoors on Christmas Eve, and if he didn’t get the porridge he played tricks on the farmer.

Today it’s only 1 month left to Christmas, enjoy this day! Hugs from Heidi
