Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today 🙂

May is traditionally the month of First Communions in Poland, and as it’s a very important celebration for many kids, cards for the occasion are hugely popular. And so today I bring you two cards I made, for a boy and a girl.

While I used the beautiful Miles Apart collection for my cards, I focused on papers you would normally not see, or just not use at all 😉 because I used only one patterned paper, and the main background is with a Monochrome set paper, while for the decorative border on both cards I used the back sides of signature strips that you normally cut off and throw away 🙂 I love that Maja Design uses even those tiny scraps to give you beautiful patterns!

As you can see, I used the same design for both cards, and they differ only by border patterns and main images of boy and girl.

Apart from the background, I used the Monochrome papers for the leaves in the flower clusters too:

And so, although Monochrome sets that go with many of the Maja collections are meant to complement the patterned papers, they also make beautiful background by themselves, as each Monochrome set is designed with their own subtle patterns.

Here’s what I used for the cards:

Maja Design papers:

Other: dies: I Love Craft, Spellbinders; punch: DpCraft; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; stamps: Agateria.

That’s all for today, thank you for visiting and see you soon!

Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today 🙂

As you might probably remember from my previous post, May is traditionally the month of First Communions in Poland. Therefore last time I shared an exploding box and today I bring you two cards:

I used the Miles Apart collection and employed one of my favourite card techniques – the patchwork. I allows you to use up even the smallest pieces of papers and is therefore perfect for many scrappers who – like me – are organically unable to throw such pieces away 😉 And so I used a square punch and made two backgrounds in pinks…

…and blues:

The cards are actually very, very simple: just a chipboard Host chalice, die-cut leaves, three lilies and acrylic gems. But the layered background with various patterns make them look rich and colourful.

Here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; chipboard: Scrapiniec; dies: Cheery Lynn Designs, my stash; gems: Marianne Design, my stash.

Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today 🙂

Easter passed, so that means we’re now entering the First Communion season which in Poland is usually in May. And so cardmakers are busy with making invitations and cards or other keepsakes. Today I bring you a First Communion exploding box:

I used papers from the Miles Apart collection, selecting neutral creams and greens so that the box can be given either to a boy or a girl. I decorated the lid with a stamped and embossed sentiment and a flower cluster. The outer walls feature two gorgeous damask patterns:

Once opened, the box reveals inner walls covered with delicate srping leaves pattern of the Be Safe sheet.

I decorated the walls with a die-cut Host with some vine leaves and flowers, a stamped Eucharistic song:

… a pocket for money or a small gift and stamped wishes:

In the centre I put a chipboard Eucharistic chalice deocrated with flowers:

I really like how delicate patterns and subtle colours of the papers provided approriate background for white and gold decor of the box!

And here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: dies: CreaLies, my stash; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; stamps: Agateria, Lemonade; chipboard: Scrapiniec; washi tape: Dekoracyjna Taśma.

That’s all for today, thank you for visiting and see you soon!

Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today 🙂

due to the world pandemic many celebrations have been cancelled or postponed. Traditionally, the First Communions month in Poland is May, but since the restrictions have gradually been lifted onyl recently, the season is only beginng now. And this year we have two kids from our family who will receive their Fisrt Communion and so I made cards form them.

I made the card for my husband’s goddaughter using the Little Street Cafe collection, from which I selected mauve purple papers for a bit of colour. I added a stamped girl image and coloured her so that she has the same dark hair as Amelia. I used a beautiful filigree chipboard host matted with gold metallic circle and a flower cluster beneath:

I completed the design with die-cut grapes and vine leaves and added some subtle shine with opalescent sequins:

I used the same card design for my husband’s nephew First Communion card:

He’s blonde, so I coloured the stamped boy image blonde too. I used the sky blue and neutral papers from the Celebration collection:

I like the way the cards turned out: simple but elegant, dimensional but still fitting into an envelope.

Here’s the list of my supplies:

Maja Design papers:

Other: stamps: Whiff of Joy; chipoard: Scrapiniec; dies: Spellbinders, CreaLies; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts.

That’s all for today, thank you for visiting and don’t forget to drop by soon for more inspiration!

Good morning, Maja Friends, welocme to the blog today 🙂

May is traditionally a month of the First Communions in Poland. Every May Sunday in various churches a group of kids receive the Sacrament and then celebrate with their faimilies with festive dinner and presents. Money and jewellery are quite popular First Communion gifts and I designed exploding boxes to give them a nice packaging 🙂

Here’s the girl’s version:

I decorated the box with Celebration papers:

The lid is decorated with a flower bouquet and a stamped sentiment embossed with golden ep:

When the lid is removed, the walls fall open and reveal the inside. There’s a stamped, embossed and hand-coloured image of a First Communion girl:

…a small gift pocket:

I also added a panel with a stamped poem, whilst in the centre I placed the chalice decorated with flowers:

The girl’s version is traditionally in the pink palette – I also made a boy’s version in blues:

The design is basically the same, of course the stamp is different 🙂

I really like how the Celebration collection provided delicate flower patterns for the girl’s box, but also elegant flowerless motives for the boy version 🙂

And how do you like the boxes?

Here’s the list of my supplies:

Maja Design papers:

Other: dies: Spellbinders, custom vine die; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; stamps: Lemonade; washi tape: Dekoracyjna Taśma; bling: Marianne Design.

I hope you enjoyed your visit to our blog, don’t forget to drop by tomorrow for more inspiration!

Have a nice day!
