Hello Sweeties

Today I’m up on Maja Design blog with a layout featuring the new collection Joyous Winterdays. I chose a photomontage I’ve made.

The Lady of Chenonceau by Pascale B.

First I primed the background with clear gesso. Next, I added some colors with different inks, paints, and Magical: I used different stamps to add the inks, I splattered some paints, …

Next, I mixed a white acrylic paint with texture powder to add a design with a stencil.

I die cut some pine needles in the monochromes shades of Joyous Winterdays. I die cut also some snowflakes and mistletoe in a watercolor paper. I painted the snowflakes with pearl and gold paints.

I sprayed the mistletoe and the white flowers with a spray, made of gold opal magic mica powder, to add some shimmer.

I glued all the embellishments with a 3D gel. And to finish the layout I added some glitter and microbeads.

Hello our blog friends. This year I have to create cards for Christmas a little bit earlier. I planned to have holiday at the beginning of December, that’s why my season starts right now . Here is my today’s inspiration : Christmas CardsChristmas Cards Christmas Cards Christmas Cards Christmas Cards Christmas Cards Christmas Cards

Like you could see some of my cards are full of layers and flowers, some not. The reason is really simple – some of them I/ or my family will send by post. It is much easier do not have so much volume then.

Let me know if you like my inspiration, please.  Hug, Paulina Padoriaa-sign

Welcome dear Maja friends!

Kerstin here, I’m the new guy and I’m coming more often now 😉

Today I want to share with you a new winter layout.

Winter is around the corner, fields and meadows are frozen, nature lies down to rest. The best time for creating or?! 🙂

I have created a very magical mixed media layout.

Magic Moments - Joyous Winterdays

I used the amazing Maja Design ‘Joyous Winterday’ collection – Sparkle + Blizzard

and some stamps (border, stars, saying), corrugated cardboard, cutting dies (deers, trees, stars, snowflakes, Holiday greens – Sizzix), chipboards – Scrap FX, pinecones, feather and flowers.

I  start my backgrounds with a thin clear gesso layer to be able to create a nice watercolour effect on my paper. The picture is always my eye -catching focal point.

I love to work with corrugated cardstock for a nature feeling and I’m always a big fan of cutting dies, so many possibilities, not only for cards, it’s also a wonderful addition for layouts or out off the page projects. The very good quality of Maja papers is perfect for that technique.

a piece of fell gift ribbon for a cozy feeling, some deers with cutting die and a leftover from a structure wallpaper

all Maja papers are printed on both sides, that’s very useful, so you can make special effects, the lower star  looks like patchwork

 Many thanks for your visit!

Have a nice weekend!

Good morning, Maja friends, welcome to the blog today 🙂

Have you purchased our latest collection yet? I can tell you it’s just wonderful! One collection to use for traditional green and red Christmas projects and blue and white wintery creations. And of course some universal patterns you can use for just about anything you create 🙂

For my today’s post I decided to share two Christmas cards I made using the blue-red palette, as I already created some red and green ones (see the Moodboard challenge post 😉 ):

In the first card I used a St.Nicholas image from the Ephemera sheet (small pad) and mounted it a bit on tags I cut out of various papers to add some nice pattern combo in the background. Then I added the flower cluster including winter leaves I die cut from glitter cardstock.

I also included little banners I cut out of signature strips – I just love using these bonus mini patterns!

For the second card I used a stamped image that I coloured with Distress inks. Then I placed it on the background of layered papers, including the one I stamped the vintage postcard on:

For the flower cluster I also used die-cut leaves and a Petaloo flower. I inked the corners of my coloured image and added some liquid pearls “snow”:

Though I’m more for the traditional Christmas reds and greens, I really like the way those blue babies turned out 🙂

And here’s what I used:

Maja papers:

Other: stamps: Whiff of Joy, Docrafts; flowers: Petaloo, Wild Orchid Crafts; dies: Sizzix, Magnolia, Craft&You Design; chipboard: Scrapiniec; bling, felt snowflake: Home&You; ribbon, snowflake stones: my stash.

See you soon!
