Hello everyone,

happy Monday.I made a very soft shabby chic card in pink and creme combo using the new “Celebration” collection.I created lots of layers using papers, die cuts and laces.I have used pink floral print papers for the card and matted it with creme color papers from the monochromatic collection. The papers are distressed with white gesso on the edges using dry brush to tone down the design.

I have used a lovely delicate chipboard frame from Scrapiniec as focal point and used couple of prima flowers to decorate my card.I used some die cut flowers and leaves between the layers which are cut with pink and creme pattern papers from the collection.

As final touch i used couple of printed butterflies and pink rhine stones.

Some more close ups..

Maja papers used: All dressed up, Jubilee ,The table is set BS, Champagne BS, Pearl BS

Thank you for stopping by,

Happy crafting

Hello our blog fans. Today I’m continuing to play around with the Celebration collection.  This time I chose the motive with the lady and tried to create stylish card. Take a look, please :

I used the metal embellishment, chipboard in a vintage style from Scrapiniec. The lace on the right site came from my treasure’s drawer. It’s a really good idea to ask your mum, grannie or even friends – they used to have some treasure’s boxes at home. I love the colours of these papers – definitely !

Hope you will like my card. Let’s celebrate ! Hugs, Paulina

Hello sweeties..!

I hope our 10 years jubilee hasn’t gone unnoticed by now. 😉 We just can’t beleive that such a long time has passed since the inception of MajaDesign..! And it has really been a great decade – soo worth celebrating. ♥

Since we’re still in a party mood over here the theme for the Mood board for January and February of course is …CELEBRATION. We hope you like it. ♥

This is how we use the mood boards:

Definition mood board – n

[a board used by designers on which samples of various colours and textures are mounted to help in deciding which elements complement each other]

We are using mood boards for our challenges. We truly believe in creativity and art at Maja Design. You are free to interpret the mood boards in any way you’d like. They are supposed to set you in an inspirational mood without too much controlling. We would like you to be inspired by the poems, words and photos. They are not given rules, they are just there as inspiration. However – we highly recommend you to follow the theme.. Feel free to use any Maja papers you’d like as long as they follow the colour scheme.

We will pick a winner and present it here on the blog February 27th.

Have in mind that these challenges are a really great way for us to discover new talents and maybe some future Creative Team members…

How to participate?

♥ Create anything you’ll like – a layout, a card, something altered or maybe a canvas. Use Maja papers primarily! Take a nice picture of it and send it to moodboard@majadesign.nu. We also need to know your full name, address and a phone number. Please specify what collection you would like to win, if you are the lucky one. We will also want to know if you would like it in the size 12*12 or 6*6. Please send us the pictures in the size of 800 pixels on the width. We would be so grateful if you also could change the file name of the photo to your first and last name including your country.

♥ Feel free to send us more than one picture, from different angles or some close-ups – or why not more than one project?

♥ Publish the project/s on your blog (or/and any social media, e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest) with a link to our site. Please also add the image of the mood board.

♥ Feel free to combine your entry with other challenges.

♥ The winner will be revealed the last Tuesday each month, at the Maja blog. The winner will be sent one collection by their choice.

Hello Maja fans!

I wish you all a very happy New Year full of health, love and hapiness. Mary with you today to share my inspiration for January.

When I found that beautiful photo on Pinterest, I wanted to scrap it and finally I made a soft wintery layout in grey and teal colors, with lots of flowers, laces and chipboards. But, before I continue more I want to give all the proper credits to the ”unknown” photographer.

I combined two paper collections, the ”Nyhavn” and the ”Vintage Summer Basics”. I choose the ”Sitting at the Dock” paper from the ”Nyhavn” collection for my background paper. Then, I added some layers with the ”Eating Out” paper from the same collection and the ”1934” from the ”Vintage Summer Basics”.

First, I gave my background a coat of clear gesso. When it was dried, I added some texture with snowflake paste and a stencil and then I used graphite paste with a second stencil to give more contrast on my page. I also made some stamping here and there. I continued by coloring my page with the sparks ”Mermaid Sparkle” acrylic paint.

I painted the flourish chipboards with the metallique ”Silver Spoon” acrylic paint and the chipboard title with the sparks ”Mermaid Sparkle” acrylic paint. Then, I gently rubbed them with the ”Vintage Gold” wax. The chipboards I used, are from Dusty Attic.

When everything was glued down, I added some art stones and glitter. I also made some splatters with white gesso diluted with some water.

That’s all for today, my friends!
