Hello lovely Maja Design friends,

Happy 1st of August I am so grateful you are here with us today, for today I have another layout to share with you. Lately I really love to use a little mixed media on my layouts like combining the very romantic stuff with a darker twist to it. This time I made all the beautiful chipboard pieces black which I later on painted to my likes. For this layout I used a picture of both our kids {Kevin & Abbey} Kevin was reading a book and I thought it was so sweet that I took a picture.

Today was Just Adorable:

All the pretty chipboard are treated with a layer of black gesso. Then I used several waxes and a dabber brush to make it look like real metal. In the end I added some color with acrylic paints to match my beautiful Maja Design papers. For my layout I have used the “Miles Apart” collection and a new mould to frame my sweet picture with. For the background I have used a stencil and some sprays.

Thank you so much for your visit today. And I sure hope that I have inspired you to take out your lovely Maja Design papers and create and have fun while doing so. Have a blessed & sunny week!

Hugs

 Hello lovely Maja Design Friends,

Welcome to this wonderful blog, I made a very colorful layout to show you today and I have used all these gorgeous chippies by 2Crafty Chipboard. This layout was build with lots of layers and I have used two Maja Design collections to do so. The beautiful fine corner florals is treated with white gesso & embossing powder, I wanted it to pop of my page. The clock face I firstly applied gesso on and then some rust paste & and aqua acrylic paints an waxes. On the word “march” I sprayed with some purple lindy’s and then I applied some matte wax.

Isn’t She Lovely:

As I said before I used two different Maja Design collections “Tropical Garden” & “Denim & Girls” this was such a fun color combination to create something with. I used a border punch for my purple sheet and layered the aqua & pink sheets on top of the purple one.

I really love those word disks this one in particular I painted with different pink acrylic paints. I really love making flower clusters on my pages and use as much chipboard pieces as I can. To finish my layout I added some white spray & beautiful pearls. The photo was taken on my husbands & mine birthday on March 6th Abbey showing of her new dress.

 Hello creative friends!

Autumn is with us and the days are getting shorter and darker.

Best time for a walking through the meadows and forests, all surrounded by colorful autumn leaves.

I was inspired to create a mixed media layout in typical fall colours.

I used some wonderful papers from the ‘Walking in the Forest’ collection, here you can find a lot of  papers in warm earth tones

as well as shades of denim blue and green. I love particularly the nature style in the design collection.

Welcome dear creative Maja friends!

Today a mixed media layout in shabby chic style as memory on wonderful days

with our little sunshine ‘Filou’ by the sea.

I was inspired to create a maritim inspired layout,

where I used some wooden shapes (Calico Craft Parts), cutting dies,

origin beach sand and self-assembled shells :-).

used paper collections

as background paper Monochromes – Shades of Celebration – Vintage Teal

for cutting and embossing elements Mono Celebration Pearl

Denim-P

‘Streetware’

 Vintage-Summer-Basics-P

‘1905’

some close up’s

a photo cutout backed with three punched flags

I used a 3D embossing folder ‘Flourish’ (Sizzix) as amazing waves

behind the photo you can see a rising sun made with 3D Impresslits ‘Radiant’ (Sizzix)

sand, shells, jute and some driftwood were all glued on with Heavy Gel Medium (DecoArt)

I wanted a weathered look for the four edges, so I used some remnants

 of punched out forms,

after gluing I painted over the edges of the pages

with a white thin crackle medium and palette knife.

Thanks for your visit!

Happy Summertime!

A very good morning to you all,

Today I present you my second layout I made since my creative juices are flowing again….the colors {blue & green} I used are totally into my comfort zone so this layout was created very quickly. And look at that picture I am so totally in love with our daughter it’s nuts. I really like to use the opposite parts of my chipboard pieces that you normally throw away that is what I used here to. Alle the chipboard pieces I used here are treated with gesso and some them later on with Finnabair wax.

The picture in this layout was a lucky shot too….that little girl brings so much joy to our life’s I can’t imagine not to have her. Being pregnant with her was amazing so much better then with our now 15 year old son who also adores his little sister. Here a picture when I was pregnant:

I like to add little details on my work like sequins, art stones, prills and those amazing clocks from a sheet from the “Vintage Autumn Basics”collection. I cut apart I think three of those sheets and keep them in a envelop to use whenever I like to it’s just a little addition on your page. I am a hugh sucker for flowers and especially the ones by 49 and Market because they fit so amazingly well with all the Maja Design papers.

As a finishing touch I added some wax on my white flowers so they blend in a little more. Thank you so much for visiting the blog today. And I will be back posting in two weeks on my normal post day the previous post was Lenet her day that I used because I could not wait anymore to post lol…
