Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today 🙂

So Maja Design did it again – released two winter collections that are absolutely gorgeous! You already saw some fabulous projects of my talented DT friends using the Traditional Christmas collection (which I’m still about to cut 😉 ) and I think it’s a good moment to share some inspiration using the other set – Winter Is Coming. Now, you might be lucky to live in a part of the world where winter means good weather and a lot of sunshine, but that’s not the case in central Europe 😉 So winter coming means gloomy weather, cold and rainy (not much luck with snow, though, as of recently) and it’s best to stay inside and warm up with something yummy to cheer up. And it’s good to have best recipes at hand, gathered in one nice recipe book:

As you see, the collection is (as all Maja papers) universal enough to mask its “winterness” 🙂 And looking at the colour palette, don’t you just think plum pie and raspberry jam?

I used a mix of papers for the front cover as I couldn’t decide which one to feature! That mix made a colourful background for the stamped and hand-coloured image of a girl, to which I added a cupckae button, an embossed chipboard title and a spoon-shaped charm:

Inside I added some more stamping and a die-cut kitchen mixer:

I included some pre-printed pages to write recipes on

:

…and added a pocket for some loose pieces to the inside back cover:

I think a handmade recipe book would make a great Christmas gift. What do you think?

Here’s my list of supplies:

Maja Design papers:

Other: stamps: Stamping Bella, Tim Holtz, Inkadinkado; dies: Spellbinders; button: Lemoncraft; chipboard: Scrapiniec; charm, ribbon: my stash.

That’s all for today, keep dropping by for more inspiration! See you soon!

Hello Maja Friends,

The holidays are over, however winter season is a perfect time for baking or preparing something sweet.

This time I made a cook book using Fika collection

I like it for the color palette and the patterns it has

I made the dividers for my book. To add a more vintage look I used the lace , strings and the die cuts.

I played mostly with the fruit and tea/ coffee theme embellishments

I also made some fussy cutting

Most of all I like the colors of purple, green and chocolate, so yummy

Have  a good day

Products used:

Spellbinders Dies, Crochet Doily, Leaves

Ho ho ho, Maja Friends, Santa Claus is coming to town! 🙂

Have you been naughty or have you been nice and found some great gifts under your pillows this morning? I don’t know about your countries, but in Poland kids are so good they receive presents not only on Christmas (delivered by the Christmas Star or Father Christmas), but also on St. Nicholas day, which is celebrated today 🙂 The generous saint usually comes in the night or so early in the morning that everybody is still asleep and leaves small gifts under the pillow or in the shoes under the bed. Oh, I still remember the excitement and anxiety in the morning – did he come or not? Was I good enough to get my dream presents? 🙂

Anyway, whether you got anything or not, it’s a good moment to think of Christmas presents for your family and friends. And a handmade recipe book is always a good idea!

I kept my recipe book as practical as possible, without too many fancy embellishemtns that could get torn off during the cooking frenzy 😉 I first wrapped the edges of the chipboard covers with washi tape and layered some Joyous Winterdays papers on the front and back:

As usually, I decorated the wire with a piece of ribbon and a metal spoon charm:

I added a chipboard word on a border embellished with a punched trim and large pearl brads:

The main decorative element of the cover is a stamped image that I coloured with Distress inks:

I also used stamps for the inside cover and the front page:

…and on the pocket for some loose pieces of paper which I placed on the inside back cover:

This time I placed the binding on the top instead of on the side – thus the book stands by itself for easy recipe checking 🙂

And here’s the list of my supplies:

Maja Design papers:

Other: dies: CreaLies; punch: Martha Stewart; ribbon: Rayher; chipboard: Latarnia Morska; brads: Craftmania; stamp: Whiff of Joy.

I really like the way it turned out and I hope it will make a nice Christmas gift to write in some delicious holiday recipes. See you soon!

Hello dear friends. Do you like cooking? I used to do it a lot before I have chosen scrapbooking as my main hobby. Anyway, I still like to enjoy the process and mix herbs and souces, but I really want to save more time for scrapping. That is why I keep on doing quite simple food for my family.

My friend recently asked me if I could make her a cook book as she wanted to make a gift for her daughter with all of her favourite recipes she kept in many palces and scrap notes. So I decided to help her and created this recipe book called Mommy’s Recipes.

Main

I made several dividers for the book so that they could distinct the various kind of the recipes. I took Coffee in the Arbour collection. It is my second recipe book I did with this collection, and I feel that I can not stope creating with it.

I enjoyed die cutting and using the die cut negatives. I guess it is a good idea.

The collection has some vintage beautiful pictures, the watercolor images look great, I suppose.

and the papers are so sweet and nice for creating any kind of books or mini albums

I also used the papers on my fabric cover, and made some stitching on it

Happy crafting and cooking, hope that you will get a chance to do both during the week end.
