Goodmorning lovelies,

Oh boy is it stinking hot here in The Netherlands with temperatures above 30 degrees feels like Turkey all over again! God is good 😉 We had a great time on our vacation destination but it is also really nice to come home. I have to admit I am very lazy the last couple of days my head wants to scrap but my hart is not letting my head to do so…..So for today I have a simple layout for you all it’s a 8×8 inch one I love making those because they take lass space in my scrap room.

Since my printer is acting up I had to use another picture for this layout. Don’t you just love the new Summertime collection as much as I do. As you see on this layout I hand made my own flowers again. I will also show you a layout that I made for my other design team I am on using as much handmade flowers as I could on a 8×8 layout. Hopefully you will enjoy my work.

The picture was take back in 2010 and he was writing his name in the sand. I really love the bikes in this collection so I did not cover it up with flowers. To finish my flowers clusters I used some real sea shells.

Hello Everyone 🙂

Today I’m back here with a new project for Maja Design. This time I decorated a glass jar, which I shall have my brushes in.

I’ve picked out some beautiful sheets from Maja Design’s latest collection, Summertime <3 These sheets are so full of flowers, summer and romance <3

Summertime-P

The sheets I have used are: Smell the Roses, Flowers Everywhere, Garden Bouquet, Ligth Scarlet and In the Garden – diecut.

I have on two of the stripes that are aroundthe glass using a punch from Martha Stewart, while the other strips have a non punch edge. In addition to the white pearls I have used around the glass, I have also pearls arund the rosette I placed on the front of the glass.

Around the rosette I have white flowers, cheese cloth and pearls.

Around the glass, I have attached 3 tags with white woks thread.

If you turn the glass around I have attached several buttons in various sizes.

A easy project from me this time 🙂

Hello beautiful Maja fans! I am back with a birthday card to a dear friend of mine. For this card I have used the lovely Vintage Romance collection.

Vintage-Romance-P

I just love the flowery papers, and I can’t have enough of them:) The tags, balloons, tassels, flowers and pennants are all made with DooHickey dies from Magnolia (box vol 5).

IMG_4436

The cute butterflies are cut out from a sheet from the Vintage Spring Basics collection. I cut them out, ink the sides with Distress Ink pad, Walnut Stain, and add some Stickles Star Dust onto the edges of the wings.

IMG_4400

Under the homemade flowers I have put some sissal grass. And behind the image I have put some cheese cloth, a corrugated paper (painted with gesso) and a frame made with a Oval Spellbinder die.

IMG_4403

I just love the tassels, so had to add some on this card aswell 😉

IMG_4424

I have added some Stickles Star Dust to the balloons aswell. And on the letters I have added some Crackle paint. On the flowers and here and there on the flowers I have painted with white Gesso. The shape of the card is made with a GoKreate die. And I have sewed the edges with my sewing machine. The leaves are from Magnolia. Laces and doilies from LLC.

Here you can see the card from the side. I always sew the pattern papers on to bazzill Vanilla. The card is Bazzill Craft. The postmarks are made with stamps from Stempelglede. I have coloured the image with Distress Ink, re-inkers and Markers.

Hello and welcome back to the Maja Design Blog! It’s Nancy here, with the honor of sharing a new card with you.

Today my card is very personal. It is an expression of the love I have for the exquisite, historic city that is my home, and a tribute beauty I see around me every day.

Charleston is a wonderfully preserved Southern colonial city. It is rich in history, boasting breathtaking architecture, quaint cobbled streets, manicured gardens, and cloistered courtyards with teasing glimpses of the lushness within. Maja Design’s ‘Summertime’ papers provide the perfect avenue to transfer what I can to a 6×6 card. I especially love the images of the bicycles in this collection, as this is the preferred manner of transportation for many residents and tourists.

All design papers are distressed, layered, and stitched. Rubber stamping enhances the ‘yesteryear’ feel of the card. Acrylic paint is randomly splattered for a rustic effect.

A 7

A dimensional garden is achieved by much fussy cutting from the paper collection and detailed layering. Foam adhesive gives each element a ‘pop’. You’ll find some close ups below.

I enjoy coordinating the inside and back of my cards with the design on the front. One of our sweet readers requested photos of this process, which you will find below.

I also include a little pocket for tucking away a gift card, photo, or note.

Dear Maja friends,

“Better late than never” – right..? 😉

We have had some time off from the office, enjoying the Swedish summertime. This has made the mood board a bit delayed, but no worries – you will have plenty of time creating your share to the challenge.

I also want to share a little secret with you.. You see the little girl in the photo below..? That’s actually my beloved niece. Isn’t she just adorable? ♥

MB-August16

This is how we use the mood boards:

Definition mood board – n

[a board used by designers on which samples of various colours and textures are mounted to help in deciding which elements complement each other]

We are using mood boards for our challenges. We truly believe in creativity and art at Maja Design. You are free to interpret the mood boards in any way you’d like. They are supposed to set you in an inspirational mood without too much controlling. We would like you to be inspired by the poems, words and photos. They are not given rules, they are just there as inspiration. However – we highly recommend you to follow the theme.. Feel free to use any Maja papers you’d like as long as they follow the colour scheme.

We will pick a winner and present it here on the blog September 26th.

Have in mind that these challenges are a really great way for us to discover new talents and maybe some future Creative Team members…

How to participate?

♥ Create anything you’ll like – a layout, a card, something altered or maybe a canvas. Use Maja papers primarily! Take a nice picture of it and send it to moodboard@majadesign.nu. We also need to know your full name, address and a phone number. Please specify what collection you would like to win, if you are the lucky one. We will also want to know if you would like it in the size 12*12 or 6*6. Please send us the pictures in the size of 800 pixels on the width. We would be so grateful if you also could change the file name of the photo to your first and last name including your country.

♥ Feel free to send us more than one picture, from different angles or some close-ups – or why not more than one project?

♥ Publish the project/s on your blog (or/and any social media, e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest) with a link to our site. Please also add the image of the mood board.

♥ Feel free to combine your entry with other challenges.

♥ The winner will be revealed the last Monday each month, at the Maja blog. The winner will be sent one collection by their choice, and also a digital Winner’s Badge to use and brag with.

We need your creation September 22nd at the latest.

Thank you & Good luck!
