Morning Maja friends! Here in the NorthEast region of the US, New Jersey to be exact, we’ve been experiencing some wacky winter weather…arctic temps one day then short sleeve weather two days later! Not much snow, but lots of freezing rain (not too good to make a snowman with!). So I decided to pull out my warm, cozy Vintage Frost Basics paper and put together some snowy, wintry cards: AndreaEwenCSC174rM What I love about Maja papers is that I can use the strips at the bottom of the scrapbooking paper for some lovely sentiments, or just smaller type print of the designs located in the paper itself.Jan13DivaDareM I’ll show you the  technique I used on the above cards: Jantut1aYou’ll need heart dies, ink, paper and an embossing folder.Jantut2a Cut out the hearts using a press machine, mine happens to be a Big Kick.Jantut3a Now ink the inside of the embossing folder. This can go one of two ways…If you ink the bumped out design, the snowflakes will be dyed on the inside. If you ink the negative, the surrounding area will be inked and the snowflakes will be highlighted. I’m showing the negative side being inked, however, the first card at the top is where I inked the snowflakes themselves.Jantut4a While the ink is still wet, lay down the hearts on top of the snowflakes. I was careful to put the larger hearts on larger snowflakes and the smaller ones…on the smaller snowflakes. You don’t want a large pattern to get lost on a small snowflake.Jantut5 Now I run it back through the Big Shot.Jantut6Voila! Rustic inked snowflakes…I personally love the look…though in reality it would just be dirty snow! {wink, wink}
Jantut7Here’s a close up of the heart.

And then here’s a ‘clean snow’ card:VFBGiveawayWell, after all the ‘chilliness’ I was ready for a little summertime, so I made this with Vintage Summer Basics.

CSC173mCan’t hurt to put a little summertime out there…maybe the time will pass a bit quicker! The above card was made with half of a doily, some Spellbinders dies, Liquid Pearls and some twine.

Thanks for stopping by today, hope you have a wonderfully creative day! Andrea-sign

A Very Happy New Year to you, Maja friends! It’s Andrea here with you today as an “official” Maja Design Team member for 2014! I was over the moon ecstatic when Marie and Jenny asked me to remain on the team for another year…seems as though I can never get enough of Maja’s beautiful papers! To commemorate a new year of beginnings and new adventures…I thought that a little Ska vi ta en fika would be in order, so I’ve made this frilly, feminine, vintage card for a New Year’s celebration: Maja010214This card uses some items that I lovingly “cannibalized” from a small Christmas wreath that I had purchased on sale. Now, I know that ‘lovingly’ and ‘cannibalized’ really don’t belong in the same sentence together, but I assure you that this practice keeps me in abundance of wonderfully vintage “chotchkies” or embellishments to use on my cards…let me show you: Maja010214BHere is what the wreath looks like all put together. I simply cut off all of those little metal flowers, cloves, silver leaves and glittered globes and tuck them into my focal bow: Maja010214AI have been known to walk around my house with a pair of scissors and snip off branches, flowers and bauble from decorations, too! And here are the embellies in action: Maja010214CAnd here’s a sampling of the Ska vi ta en fika collection: Fika-PThanks for joining me today, hope you have a healthy, prosperous and crafty New Year! Andrea-sign

Her papers are definitely my ‘go-to’ papers…I will never tire of their delicate, vintage style! So without further chitchat…here are a couple new ones: HappyChristmasMajaI used the Vintage Frost Basics for my ‘Happy Christmas’ card. This card below is from the same line:

Morning Maja fans! It’s Andrea here with you today with a few cards that I’ve made over the last two weeks since I was here with you last…featuring my current favorite Maja Design collection..Vintage Frost Basics! Marie has included a page in this line with the most heart-warming and darling die cut images…I just love to use them on my projects to convey a wonderfully vintage and delicate feel. Here’s the first:MajaHolidayJoyThe image was cut out of a piece of 6th of December paper. I framed it with a Floral Oval die cut and added two rows of Liquid Pearls. The gold flourish at the bottom is simply a sticker and then I added a metal heart sponged with white craft ink and adorned with a twine bow/crystal center. The sentiment is from Verve’s Holiday Phrases and that’s stamped on a label punch. I finished the card off with a few resing/gold stars. Here’s another few card using the Vintage Frost Basics collection:ChristmasWishesNov2013VB DecemberDivaInspHop2013MD MajaDesignDec13MoodBoardAEAnd this last one is a card in a card: The tab at the top is a card to be pulled out from the top:CSC168 CSC168IAO CSC168InsideThanks so much for joining me today…I hope you have been inspired! ♥♥♥Andrea-sign

Morning Maja lovelies! It’s Andrea here with you today…here in the United States we’re gearing up for our Thanksgiving holiday…which usually translates into a four day weekend for some of us lucky ones…(yes, I’m one of them!). This year is a special one for me and my daughter, our birthdays happen to fall on the Thanksgiving holiday. I had her on my 29th birthday so we share something very special…being born on the same day! I can tell you, I will never get another birthday present as wonderful as that one! Getting back to why you’re here…I’ve got a few cards to share with you, the first one from the Vintage Autumn Basics collection:AndreaEwenCSC167MajaThis card features No. XIX, No. XIII, No. XXIII and No. XX papers. I made a bird’s nest out of burlap and glue…and added a few pearl ‘eggs’ to it. The leaves are cut out of a strip of burlap and I also added some fabric leaves and a row of paper flowers over some vintage lace. The crystal flourish is from Zva Creative. In addition, to the top and bottom, I added a zig-zag of hand stitching. Here are a couple of other cards I’ve made over the last two weeks featuring Maja Design papers:AndreaEwenCSC166MajaCThis tag also features the Vintage Autumn Basics papers, loaded up with Zva Creative pearls, fabric flowers, chipboard, daisy-chain lace, tulle accents, twine and lots of shabby edges.The sentiment was cut out from No. IV-bs at the bottom of the page…Marie always includes sweet sentiments and strips of heavenly shabby designs at the bottoms of the pages. Lastly, here’s a Christmas card in celebration of the next big holiday:DivaDareNovember2013MA few jingle bells, some distressed gingham ribbon, fabric flowers, ephemera and some burlap added to the It’s Christmas time collection make this quite a cozy card!

Thanks so much for joining me today…hope you have a wonderful weekend and Happy Thanksgiving to my  American friends!Andrea-sign
