Happy Monday to everyone! Marilyn here today to share you my latest project with Maja Design.  This time I made a page with a fabulous combination, I mixed Crochet  +  Mix Media +  Crea Diem collection =  a Romance….

Marilyn Rivera-May Maja Design

This page is about my son Alexander and his girlfriend Monique. I started to pick the paper Sin lyckas smed, Skapa Dagen and Den Oersattliga Tiden from the Crea Diem collection for this project.  I cut all the clocks from one of the paper and used one of the biggest as my photo mat. I chose the Sin lyckas smed paper as my base and I added two pieces of crochet that I bought in my local craft store  then I applied gesso and Shimmerz in different colors to create the background work.

To create a variety of textures in my page I added the metal hearts and the key.

I painted a piece of lace with glimmer mist and put it between the two piece of crochet and behind the photo.

I created a circular frame with the vine pearls and the jute.

In the floral cluster I incorporated some of the cut out clocks…

Marilyn Rivera- April Maja-2

Happy Monday Maja friends!!  I have  a page to share with you today with many techniques and full of textures. This time I worked with one of my favorites Maja Design collections …Sofiero, wow,  this collection is so gorgeous, I’m in love with the beautiful soft colors and the pretty designs. I also added a paper from the Vintage Spring Basics collection.

DSC_6013-1 copy-1I added textures to the background paper “The magnificent Flowerstreet” with a Jenny Swap’ stencil (hearts) and molding paste.   I also added some mash tape, lace, corrugated and flower to the borders of the paper and mixed it with gesso, then I painted with Shimmerz paints.DSC_6015 copy

My page has a lot of layers and dimension. I incorporated many elements here like buttons, moss, pearls stem, chipboard, pearls, lace, sequins and many flowers.

I made a design draping the paper and putting my photo as the focal point in my page with a chipboard frame that I painted with gesso, shimmerz paint and then  stamped with a Ranger Distress ink and many mat layers with Maja Design papers.  In the borders of the draped I added layers with the “Enjoying the Fragance, Exuberance of flowers in bloom and The Magnificent of the Flowerstreet papers” from the Sofiero collection.DSC_6013-1 copy-2

Supplies: Sofiero collection: “Enjoying the Fragance, Exuberance of flowers in bloom and The Magnificent of the Flowerstreet papers”,”Days to Remember paper by Vintage Spring Basics collection,  Sheaky Lead and Scrapmatts chipboads, Prima flowers, Shimmerz Paints, Liquitex gesso, Heidi Swap stencil.
