Hello! I send a warm winter welcome from all of us at the Maja Design Blog! It’s Nancy here on this beautiful Monday. I hope everyone is staying toasty and finding ways to conquer to the chill in the air. The flu got the best of me these last few weeks, but I’m finally recovered and so thankful to be back with you all.

My  favorite activity for a cold, damp day is spending cozy time in my craft room. That is exactly what I did this weekend, so I have a new card to share with you! I had some extra papers left from Maja Design’s newest collection, Christmas Season, and want to share ways you can incorporate holiday papers into your projects once Christmas has passed. This versatility of every Maja Design collection is just one of the wonders of their beautiful papers.

Today’s ‘all occasion’ card is monochromatic and focuses on the gorgeous shades of blue that are abundant in this collection. I feel like blues are always ideal for winter creations.

Stitched layers form a base for the florals and various embellishments, which come together to create a peaceful and wintery focal point.

Below is a view of the interior of the card.

Maja Design Papers Used:

Other Products Used: Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Dies, Flower Shaping Tools, Tim Holtz Alterations Ephemera, Wooden Key, Purchased Small Paper Flowers, Glass Pearls, Prima Resin Frame, Twine, Sewing Machine, Thread.

Hugs,

Hello, and welcome to the Maja Design Blog! It’s Nancy here with you. I hope you’re staying warm and cozy as winter begins to settle in. I have a new Christmas card to share today. I’m super excited because it’s my first time working with Maja Design’s brand new paper collection, ‘Christmas Season’, and I’m completely in love with it!

The papers are distressed, layered, and stitched, forming a base for the embellishments. An image from the paper collection makes for a perfect sentiment and focal point.

A wintery collection of florals anchors the sentiment, while a trio of tiny bells jingle cheerily whenever the card is moved about. Frosty touches of gesso add an icy chill to the florals and around the edges of the card, and a loopy twine bow ties everything together.

Above is a peek of the interior of the card, where there is plenty of space to write a personal note.

Hello, and happy Monday! Welcome to the Maja Design Blog! It’s Nancy here, with my first Christmas card of the season to share with you. I can barely believe the festive season is almost upon us, as I still have a couple of Christmas items on my desk from last year that I’ve been meaning to put up-lol.

I’m working with Maja Design’s gorgeous ‘I wish’ collection today. It’s full of warmth and holiday cheer. Looking at the joyful images makes me feel like baking up a batch of holiday cookies while singing my favorite carols.

Several layers of distressed papers are stitched together, topped off with a die cut oval, then embellished with wintery florals and fussy cut images from the paper collection.

A dusting of snowy Gesso adds a wintery chill, and the final touch is, as always, a bow!

Below is a closer look at the hand cut images, which includes the sentiment.

There is plenty of space on the inside of the card to write a Christmas greeting.

Hello, dear friends of the Maja Design Blog! It’s Nancy here with you. I hope you’re enjoying a beautiful day! I’m in my craft room playing with Maja Design’s ‘Walking in the Forest’ papers once again, because I’m completely in love with this season. To quote Winnie the Pooh, it’s “a time for hot chocolatey mornings, and toasting marshmallow evenings, and best of all, leaping into leaves!”

The rich, gorgeous colors in this collection are absolute perfection for creating leafy autumnal projects!

Honestly, the papers do all of the work for you, bringing the change of seasons to life on the page. I’m layering and distressing each of my layers, then stitching them together on my sewing machine. You don’t need to add stitching, but I feel like it gives it ‘that little something extra’.

The floral spray provides a focal point as it tumbles down the front of the card, drawing from the colors in the collection. Even the leaves are die cut from the collection then tucked in amongst the flowers and berries.

I’m doing a bit of rubber stamping on the exterior and interior of the card, as well as with the sentiment used to create the band encircling the bouquet.

Below you’ll find a peek of the inside with coordinating stamping. Of course, you’ll also find a bow. I always feel like my cards aren’t truly finished without one.

Maja Design Papers Used:

Other Products Used: Tim Holtz Leaf Dies, Magnolia Rose Leaf Die, Paper Flowers, Rubber Stamps, Archival Ink, Natural Twine, Fall Berries, Foam Adhesive, Glue Gun, Sewing Machine, Thread.

Thank you so much for spending time with us on the blog today. May this day be one of promise and joy, and may all your crafty dreams come true!

Hugs,

Count Your Blessings

Hello! It’s Nancy with you today, and I’d like to wish a warm welcome to all of our friends of the Maja Design Blog!

It’s the first week of October, and many are already reveling in the refreshing brace of fall. It’s still in the 90’s in Charleston, so here we must wait a couple of months to enjoy those cooler temperatures.

To escape the heat we’re planning a mountain holiday, where we’ll partake in all the delights of autumn, including nature’s glorious display of color. The Smoky Mountains, always teaming with abundance and life, transition from the lush green of summer, to every shade of orange, yellow, red, olive, and brown. It’s a sight of such beauty that it seems almost otherworldly, like something out of a story book. That is my inspiration for today’s card, and there could be no better paper collection to bring it to like than Maja Design’s Walking in the Forest.

The beautiful design papers are distressed and stitched to form a multi-layered base.

Purchased paper flowers and die cut leaves of multiple varieties comprise the floral spray, anchoring and drawing the eye to the focal point of die cut tags and bird stamps, all created using the paper collection.

The sentiment is hand stamped using archival ink.

Finishing touches include a loopy twine bow, fall berries, and a dusting of gesso here and there.

I’m off to bring some semblance of order to my craft room. It’s not always the tidiest of spaces, but it never fails to be the comfiest. It’s my own personal Hobbit-hole, where I’m never far from a tea kettle and a cozy day of crafting.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I wish you a lovely day filled with all things good and wonderful. I hope you’ll have plenty of time to work on your own creations, and remember to share them with us here at the Maja Design Mood Board Challenge!

Hugs,
