Hello,I am here to share with you a LO I did using the beautiful Vintage Spring Basics Collection,I just love this collection!!!!!
From the Vintage Spring Basics Collection, I used the1st of March,7th of May,7th of May bs,7th of April &6th of May. The chippies are from Scrap Fx & the blooms are from I Am Roses. I have decided to do a photo Tut on this LO,as garden season is just around the corner. After the Tut,I will show closeups of detail………………
I start with a distressed layer of cardstock. This is my first layer using 7th of April, because I will be stitching it down later. I used very little glue to attach it & never go close to the outside edge with the glue so that I can distress more once I have completed my stitching….
My next distressed layer using 7th of May……..
I glued down 1st of March in the center.I only used 1 drop of liquid accents as it dries so fast.So this is why I like to use LA as my glue because of the instant staying power. I have glued 7th of May to 7th of May bs, making sure that I did not go to the outside edges…..
This is the next layer, from what I did in the photo above this one…..
Here are the next layers. I have I ripped 2 pieces of 7th of May ,then distressed them & attached them to the upper right hand and lower left corner…….
I curled up a couple of corners, Islipped in pieces of paper & then glued them to the cardstock….
With a paper pierce, I poked holes for my hand stitching…..
I decided to cut holes in the 1st of March, then I glued behind that 7th of May bs & attached chicken wire with glue……..
Holes are pierced,ready for stitching……
Stitching is done, but I find that my LO’s bend from all of this stitching..Thanks to a large stock of paper that I refuse to throw out, I glue this onto a piece of the recycled paper using mod podge. I then put heavy books on top until it dries & flattens…………….
Flattened out LO….
Now using my fingers ,I lift & distress the edges more….
After I did more distressing with my fingers….
I never throw away my old chipboard or scraps, I save them to raise the photo, or whatever I want to raise, so this is glued down & the photo will be glued on top, leaving space so that I can add detail under or over the photo…
I matted the photo with 7th of May,then glued on the scribble rectangle. I then glued it on to the piece of chipboard on the LO,now for the detail……
Not sure of what I should use. So I got all of these Scrap Fx pieces ready by first painting them with white picket fence crackle .When they dried, I rubbed in a dark brown chalk & inked the edges to make them look more vintage..
For the little cone shaped planters,I cut out circles out of cardstock, then painted them with white picket fence crackle. When that dried, I rubbed in chalk, inked the edges and cut a v into the circle. . Then I rolled and glued them with liguid accents, holding it until it dried, then I rapped string around them. Here are some close ups of detail……
I added some of the chipboard pieces into this area, then some blooms & a butterfly I cut out from the 6th of May.
On the top right hand corner is the back of the label, I. also ripped a piece of 1st of March, then inked the edgesand glued it under the photo.
My cute little planters, filled with I Am Roses.
My garden is mostly in the purple and orange tones,so I found this photo on pinininterest,, But this Months Mood Board & the Vintage Spring Basics Collection has inspired me to plant this secret little garden spot in the Vintage Shabby Chic way, can’t wait until the snow goes!!!!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to look…..Rachelle
