Hi Maja fans! I hope you have had a wonderful weekend. Don’t you just love this time of the year with summer getting closer and closer? I was inspired by the gorgeous ‘Walking in the Forest’ collection to make this tag in the colours of a summer sunset. As you can see, this collection can be perfect for many other occassions than just for fall!

Thank You I used several dies on my tag: the doilies, flower circle and the tag are all made of dies. I think my favourite dies and my favourite Maja Design papers are a match made in heaven. They make it really easy to create something pretty. 111111

The lovely butterflies are all cut out from the lovely ‘Walking in the Forest’ papers. The tiny butterflies are part of a barcode strip and the larger butterfly is from the ‘Die-Cut’ sheet.

Thank You 2

I also cut out some small leaves from the ‘Maple’ sheet.

I lightly inked them and adhered them with foamtape. A resin angel from Prima was the finishing touch on my tag. I used embossing powder to add some romantic, gold accents to it. Thank You 3Supply list:

Maja Design: patterned papers (‘Walking in the Forest’: Die-cut sheet, Die-cut sheet – bs, Die-cut letters – bs, Teal socks, Maple, Knitted weather, Birdsong); Memory Box: wreath die; Cheery Lynn: doily die; Tim Holtz: tag die, distress ink; Prima Marketing: resin angel, pearls; Pebbles Inc: rub-on.

Thank you so much for having a look and have a wonderful week!

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you have had a wonderful Pentecost. In Holland we have two days of Pentecost, so I enjoyed a wonderful day off University today.

Today I have a lay-out to show you that I made with one of my favourite Maja Design collections to date. With the amazing Fika papers I made this lay-out about my niece Elise.  I really love this photo of my niece, as it shows her beautiful lashes and lovely smile just perfectly. I wanted to make a feminine lay-out for it and the gold and purple tones in the Fika papers were just perfect for this. She1

For the background I used the backside of the ‘Blommor pa bordet’ paper, which I matted onto ‘Kladdkaka’, the brown gingham paper. For the rest I mainly did a lot of layering and distressing with different papers from the Fika collection.

For the details I used two resin birds, that were slightly inked with distress ink, chipboad frames, flowers and some cheese clothing. The lovely butterflies were cut out from the ‘Walking in the Forest’ papers. 2 ScrappiesSupply list:

Hi Maja fans! I hope you have had a wonderful weekend. In Holland spring has finally arrived and the sun is shining brightly. But I have to admit that even on these sunny days, I love to spend some time inside behind my desk playing with my favourite Maja Design goodies. For today’s project I worked with the gorgeous ‘Vintage Summer Basics’ papers. This is the ‘Thank you’ card that I made with them.

Thank You

I used white cardstock as the base of my card and layered three rectangles cut out from three different sheets of paper on top of them. I then cut a doily with my Big Shot and adhered it in the right upper corner of my card. With a vintage swirl, a sentiment rub-on, two clocks and a resin bird I made an embellishment cluster on the right side. Finally I cut out some of the gorgeous butterflies from the ‘Vintage Spring Basics’ collection as well.Thank You 2 Don’t you just love the versatility of the Maja Design papers? What I really love about their collections is that each collection has a wide variety of papers in different colours. For this card I choose a few papers in pink and grey tones to create a very feminine card. But you could also go for a blue/brown combination with this same collection to achieve a more masculine look.Thank You 3Supplies:

Maja Design: patterned papers (Vintage Spring Basics: 6th of May; Vintage Summer Basics: 1923, 1891, 1899); Prima Marketing: clocks, resin bird; Memory Box: flourish die; Cheery Lynn: doily die; Pebbles Inc: sentiment rub-on; Bazzill Basics: white cardstock; Queen & Co: pearls.

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

I hope you have had a wonderful, sunny weekend. To start off the new week I have a lay-out to show you that I made with the gorgeous “Walking in the forest” collection. I dedicated this lay-out to the nickname that I had as a child: Pippi. Pippi Longstocking (or ‘Pippi Langkous’ as we call her in Dutch) is a character from Astrid Lindgren’s books. Her dad is a pirate and she lives in their home all by herself. She is famous for her ginger hair, piggytails and freckles. Because I have ginger hair and freckles too, people often called me ‘Pippi’ as a child.

On my lay-out I actually used two other collections, besides the ‘Walking in the Forest’ collection. The soft yellow paper is from the ‘Vintage Summer Basics’ collection and the grid pattern was cut out from one of the ‘Vintage Winter’ papers.

1Once again I couldn’t resist cutting out some of the images from the papers, such as these tiny butterflies, a robin, mushrooms and some leaves. I finished off my lay-out with some lovely flowers, a clock and a resin cupid.

‘Memento vivere’ (or ‘remember to live’ in English) – it’s one of the quotes that was printed on some barcode strips in the gorgeous ‘Vintage Spring Basics’ collection. As soon as I read it, I knew I wanted to do something with it. Both my dad and I often tend to bite off more than we can chew and cancel some fun activities because of that. So I thought this quote would be a perfect message for us to capture in a lay-out. I scrapped it with mostly pink papers from the gorgeous ‘Vintage Spring Basics’ collection.

What I love about the Maja Design collections is that they all consist of many different papers in several colours. This means that you could use papers from the same collection to make some totally different creations. For my lay-out I decided to focus on the pink and grey papers from this collection.

The sheets that I used from this collection are: ‘1st of May’ (front and backside), ‘3rd of May’, ‘4th of May’ (front and backside), ‘6th of May’, ‘7th of May’, ‘8th of March’-backside, ‘1st of April’ and ‘Days to remember’.

Memento Vivere 2As I prefer to do, I first selected a few sheets of paper that would make a nice colour palette for my photo. For this lay-out I choose to work with pink, white and gray. I then inked and distressed the edges of the paper and shuffled them around until I got the composition that I was satisfied with.

Then I started cutting out some cherry blossoms, butterflies and a bird from the papers. The cherry blossoms were part of the ‘1st of May’ sheet. I cut out the bird from the ‘1st of April’ paper. I just love the whimsical images that are printed on some of the papers from this gorgeous collection. I added some liquid pearls to them as a nice finishing touch.
