Hello my scrapping sistas, welcome to Maja Design. Today I have a layout to show you created with 4 of the Vintage Basics collections. Lots of elements clustered around the photo, giving a three dimensional feel to the page .   …  I seem to be in a Pink mood this month, first my Lady in Pink card and now my Sweet Grand daughter and pink .

SWEET DELIGHT   March LO sweet LAYOUT 2   This background paper is one of my top faves . I love that it does not need much added to it, I did add a tiny  touch of gesso, and some stamping, but in my opinion it is a perfect distressed pink for any background. I also love the striking contrast of the Black and White photo against the deep rich pink. I am so blessed to have such wonderful photos of my grand daughter to scrap. My beautiful and talented daughter TARA takes all the photos .March LO sweet IMAGE 3 layering    Lots of layering again … oh I do love the way Maja Design Collections blend and embrace each other to perfection, creating a magical symphony of textures.    March LO sweet IMAGE 4 bling     I found this Bingo element which adds the perfect touch to the photo. Ella Jai, My adorable Grandie, was eating her fave Sweet Delight, so I weaved the title with the word SWEET and added a word Stamp  ..  DELIGHT March LO sweet IMAGE 6 cluster    A cluster of metal, blooms, stamping and paper…..combining blooms, metal, bling brad, and washi tape all add to the story of my work .  March LO sweet layers and metal    Altered metal element among the layers.  I love to tuck elements under my photo and layers, adding interest and intrigue. March LO sweet layers  More yummo layering, with strands of cotton randomly placed among the layers, adding the perfect finishing touch …… Maja Design materials used …..Vintage Frost Basics 6th December, Vintage Frost Basics 1903,Vintage Summer Basics 1908, Vintage Summer Basics 1922, Vintage Summer Basics 1924, Vintage Spring Basics 4th May, Vintage Spring Basics 6th March , Vintage Spring Basics 7th March….Thanks for popping by and I hope you are inspired to create something beautiful with Maja Design collections.  Until next time , warm hugz from me and happy scrapping xHeather-sign

Memories Captured-small

Hi everyone, it’s me Gabrielle here with you today to share my newest layout using beautiful blue papers from a variety of the Maja collections.  I used the lovely dark blue floral (XX) from the Vintage Autumn Basics collection as my background (matting) paper…643-vab-xx

The next layer I used is from the Vintage Frost Basics collection called December 9th, for this one I did a little tinting with some Lindy’s sprays and added some texture with a doily stencil and home-made texture paste…

658-9th-of-december

For the heart design, I cut out a piece from the 6th of March paper from the Vintage Spring Basics collection. This I matted with some of the Vintage Autumn Basics (XX) paper (that I cut out from the center of the background matting paper…

595-6th-of-march

After I matted the heart cut from the above paper, I used a scallop edge scissore to create the border around the outside of the heart.

You can see the matting design in the above photo, I used a Signo Unibal white gel pen to put small dots inthe scallops to create an eyelet effect.  The flourishy chipboard frame is one of my favourites from Dusty Attic Designs (Decorative Scroll #1)

I used Lindy’s (Afternoon Delight Denim) spritz on the background and added texture with home-made texture paste and a Prima Doily stencil.

The flowers I used are a loose variety of blooms from Prima Marketing and Dusty Attic Designs and the title chipboard was designed by my friend Janene at The Scrapbook Diaries.  The Scrapbook Diaries has created a limited kit which also comes with a video tutorial I made to go with it if you are interested in trying out creating this page.

I hope you enjoyed my project today and hope that I’ve inspired you to play with some of your Maja Design papers! xo

A very warm Welcome to Maja Design all my fellow scrappers. Heather with you today, sharing a feminine fussy cut card I created for a friend.       … FRIENDSHIP… March card lady in Pink 1 We have been friends for many years and I wanted to make a statement and create lots of stylish layers , representing the various experiences we have had together and the many layers of our friendship and life.  March Card lady in Pink 3 March Card lady in pink 4      I began by cutting white card and folding it into three sections. I created my layers with the Spellbinders Nestabilities. I trimmed a piece of paper 7’ x 4’ for my base , and then proceeded to add my layers. Beginning with the largest die and stacking them in various papers from the Vintage Autumn Basics collection. I completed my card cover by fussy cutting the elegant lady and added her to the top of my stacked diecuts. A Vintage brad adds the finishing touch to my cover.march card Lady in Pink half open 5      Watching the expressions on my friend’s face as she opens the card to see more details inside is pure delight for me xoxo.

March Lady in Pink inside view 7    I love to carry my embellishments to the inside of my cards. This card contains a poem. I also added a stacked tag with a tie, and a diecut folded in half and placed around the edge of the card. Stamp with a friendship stamp and add a strip of Tim Holt tissue tape .

Here is a copy of my poem for you to keep .   Twelve gifts just for you   Happiness – deep down within.  Serenity – with each sunrise.   Success – in each facet of your life.    Family – beside you.  Close and caring friends.  Health – inside you .  Love – that never ends.   Special memories – of all the yesterdays.A bright today – with much to be thankful for .  A path – that leads to beautiful tomorrows. Dreams – that do their best to come true .  Appreciation – of all the wonderful things about you !

Maja Design materials….Vintage Autumn Basics No1, No 11,  No 111,Vintage Frost Basics 19th of December .Tim Holtz Tissue tape, white card, stamp, Spellbinders diecuts, vintage brad. Thanks for dropping by and I do hope you are inspired to create with these super duper papers. Hello Maja Fans and welcome to the Maja Design blog today!

Last time I shared a flowery boy layout. But when boys are growing, you need to forget flowers, I guess – especially when you create things to order. And so recently I’d got two orders for birthday creations on the occassion of boys’ 18th birthday, which is the official maturity age in Poland.

The first one was for a boy (or I should rather say, a young man) who loved the sea and intended to study marine science. As Life by the Sea is my favourite marine collection of all time it was a pure pleasure to create this card:

mdsailI chose the collection’s navy blue patterns and added some red accents with washi tape and string that I tied into a sailor’s knot:

mdsail1I die-cut the age number and added the name with stickers. I also added an anchor charm and some real sea-shells 🙂

mdsail2I really like the way the card turned out and I hope the birthday man liked it too 🙂

Supplies:

Maja Design papers: Life by the Sea: Nautic, Nautic bs, Drop the anchor, Bottle message bs.

Other: stamps: Crafty Individuals and Lemonade, stickers Glitz, dies Die-Namics, charm, string, cheesecloth, seashells – from my stash.

Another creation was a bit larger and more complicated, as the orderer planned to give the birthday man some money. And for that purpose, I think an exploding box is the most elegant way 🙂

mdboxI decorated the cardstock base with a mixture of Maja winter collections – mostly using the Vintage Frost Basics papers – in a way that it looks like a traveller’s chest, with belts and “metal” corners. On the lid I put a mini toy car, chipboard gears and stars that I embossed with silver mettalic ep.

mdbox1When you remove the lid of an exploding box, it opens up, presenting the inside. In my box I decorated the sides so that banknotes can be slided behind the strips of paper. For example, one side features printed (blank 😉 ) ID card and driving licence as the background for the money. I used the signature strip of one of the papers to decorate it:

mdbox5Another side shows the name and date of birthday, with a bottle of champagne to symbolise the celebration and legality of drinking 😉

mdbox6In the centre, I placed a paper cake decorated with gears and a chipboard number (and well, yes, flowers! LOL )

mdbox2Supplies:

Maja Design papers: Vintage Frost Basics: 11th of December, 13th of December, 15th of December, 16th of December; Gammaldags Jul: Vackra Paket; Vintage Winter: Snowmen

Other: printed images, brads: Rayher, stickers 7 Dots Studio, chipboard shapes Scrapiniec, dies Cheery Lynn Designs, glitter Stickles Ranger; washi tape, flowers, toy car – from my stash.

I hope you liked my boy creations (almost) without flowers 🙂

see you soon!
