Morning Maja fans! It’s Andrea here with you today with a few cards that I’ve made over the last two weeks since I was here with you last…featuring my current favorite Maja Design collection..Vintage Frost Basics! Marie has included a page in this line with the most heart-warming and darling die cut images…I just love to use them on my projects to convey a wonderfully vintage and delicate feel. Here’s the first:MajaHolidayJoyThe image was cut out of a piece of 6th of December paper. I framed it with a Floral Oval die cut and added two rows of Liquid Pearls. The gold flourish at the bottom is simply a sticker and then I added a metal heart sponged with white craft ink and adorned with a twine bow/crystal center. The sentiment is from Verve’s Holiday Phrases and that’s stamped on a label punch. I finished the card off with a few resing/gold stars. Here’s another few card using the Vintage Frost Basics collection:ChristmasWishesNov2013VB DecemberDivaInspHop2013MD MajaDesignDec13MoodBoardAEAnd this last one is a card in a card: The tab at the top is a card to be pulled out from the top:CSC168 CSC168IAO CSC168InsideThanks so much for joining me today…I hope you have been inspired! ♥♥♥Andrea-sign

Moodboard-December

And here’s a little reminder of what our mood boards are used for…

Definition mood board – n

a board used by designers on which samples of various colours and textures are mounted to help in deciding which elements complement each other

We are using mood boards for our challenges. We truely believe in creativity and art at Maja Design. You are free to interpret the mood boards in any way you’d like. They are supposed to set you in an inspirational mood without too much controlling. We would like you to be inspired by the poems, words and photos. They are not given rules, they are just there as inspiration. They are all inspired by a Maja collection, but you are free to use any Maja papers you’d like as long as they follow the colour scheme. We highly encourage you to follow the theme of the mood board as well.

We are presenting a new mood board the first Tuesday of every month. We will be presenting all participating creations that fulfill the requirements below December 31st. We will also draw a winner who will be winning a Maja Design collection of their own choice in 6×6 or 12×12.

After your creation is done, take a photo and send it to moodboard@majadesign.nu without any watermarks (size 600×600). Include your full name and address in the e-mail together with what collection you would like if you win. Don’t forget to write down if you would like 6×6 or 12×12. We need your creation December 29th at the latest.

We will only publish creations that fullfill the requirements!

And here comes inspiration created by our fabulous Creative Team…

Congratulations! We will send you the Vintage Frost Basics collection as you requested.

WINNER OF THE VINTAGE FROST BASIC COLLECTION GIVEAWAY

First I have to send a huge THANK YOU to all of you, for all the lovely comments and kind words. It’s you who makes me wanna go on designing papers.
We well passed 200 comments!! And I’m going to ship the collection to six lucky winners:

Mixable collections are just perfect! Double-sided I suppose,  so not 24, but 48 different designs to choose from! It gets even better: perfectly compatible with the other 3 Vintage Basics collections. What more could a girl want (expect for winning it, LOL)? Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to win (and drool all over it on beforehand)!

Fantastic!! Love that the collections always have a great mix of both blues/greens and reds/pinks so whatever kinds of pages you make you have the right colours. Also, your quality is unmatched, such lovely papers… and then you have the soft neutrals in browns and creams, and I can tell already form the sneak peek above that they are beautiful. My faves are the  blue snowflake and the blue stars papers.

Oh yeah! Another sentimental collection. Yes, this one is a little bit frosty but still warm somehow! And completely unavailable in Poland, as the rest of your products. It’s left to dream of it and cross my fingers… Hugs.

Oh my, I am in winter wonderland heaven with this new collection!  I hear the sleigh bells and can see the children playing in the snow.  I love how these are not the traditional Christmas colors we see each year.  You can do so much more with this collection.  I hope, pray and wish to win this collection Maja.  Congrats on a beautiful new collection.

Hi, I absolutely LOVE all of your vintage collection! I’m from Canada and I’m trying to find where I can purchase your product, it’s not easy but I’ll keep looking! I’ m from New Brunswick Canada. I would LOVE to win this considering I am not able to find it around here…Thanks for the chance to win! Sandra

Another great collection and I cant wait to see what your girls make with this lot.  They have been amazing with the previous collections.  And I love that they can combine papers from the different collections and still come up with something that fits so perfectly together.  Your vintage collections are amazing.

Please send your address and phone number to marie@majadesign.nu and we will ship the Vintage Frost Basics collection to you.

Take care, and enjoy the magic Days of December.

Marie

Hi Maja fans! Happy Monday!

Can you believe it’s December already? Time has really flown by this year and I can hardly believe Christmas is getting really close by now. This also means that it’s time to start making Christmas cards. It’s almost a tradition for me to start working on my Christmas cards way too late, so that in the end I have to make quite a lot of cards in very little time. But then it really helps if you can work with papers that you really like. For example, this year I’m having lots of fun working with the gorgeous new “Vintage Frost Basics” collection. I have made quite a couple of cards with it already and will show you one of them on the blog today.

!

For the base of my card I used two sheets of paper: “4th of December” and “12th of December”. I then started cutting out the grid pattern from the “16th of December” sheet. I layered a doily on top of it, which was cut out from the lovely pink “5th of December” paper. For the central part of my card I used several beautiful die-cuts from the “Christmas Die-Cuts” paper. I just love the fact that each Maja collection comes with a die-cut sheet like this one. These lovely die-cuts are especially very useful for cardmaking! I cut out the postcard, a tag and a postage stamp from this sheet. I also tucked in two cut out elements from the “Days of Christmas” sheet behind the tag and behind the postage stamp.

-

To finish off my card I added a resin holly berry, a die-cut swirl and two stars. I also decorated some of the details with liquid pearls.

Supply list:

Maja Design: patterned papers (“Vintage Frost Basics” collection: 4th of December, 5th of December, 12th of December, 16th of December, Christmas Die-Cuts, Days of Christmas”); Prima Marketing: resin holly berry; Cheery Lynn: doily die, flourish die; Memory Box: stars dies; Bazzill Basics: white cardstock; Tim Holtz: distress ink Walnut Stain, Viva Decor: perlen pen.

I hope you enjoyed my blogpost for today and that it inspired you to start working on your own Maja Christmas cards.

Have a wonderful week!

003

Hi there! I have been making a Calendar for 2014 for Maximilians grandparents lately. I am not finihed yet, but hopefully it will be before Christmas! I will start with showing you the page for December, January and February – the winter months.

For December I have used the lovely papers from the It’s Christmas Time Collection – Joyful. The dies used are from Magnolia, the same as the image.

097

For Januar I have used the Vintage Frost Basics-6th of December, 9th of December. Here with another image from Magnolia. The snowflakes are made with a Martha Stewart punch, the leaf and swirl are made with dies from Magnolia.

017

And for February I have used the lovely 12th of December and 13th of December. The beautiful ice skates are made with a Tim Holtz die. I have made place for a tag on all pages, where they can write important dates every month.

Thank you so much for visiting the Maja Design blog! Hugs xxCamilla-sign
