Wishes for Christmas - Cathy - Vintage Frost Basics

Hello everyone! I can’t believe how quickly the time is passing. Today I am sharing my first Christmas card of the year and I know that it is just around the corner. Being a card maker, I never seem to have enough handmade Christmas cards for my family and friends made within a reasonable time frame, so this year I am determined to have enough made!

I love the trimmings and decorations of the Christmas season and one thing I especially love are vintage Christmas cards. I absolutely love all of the vintage images that are in the die cut sheet of the Vintage Frost Basics. I layered this image with Spellbinders Timeless rectangles, then layered it on top of 10th December and tucked in Tim Holtz on the edge Distressed doily die. Everything was distressed with Vintage Photo distress ink.

To create some vintage touches, I used lace and seam binding. I used a variety of flowers from Green Tara that had muted tones, that compliment the papers.

The Vintage Frost Basics Collection has so many beautiful papers and die cuts to work with. I especially love the blue tones (there is pink in this collection as well!) I look forward in creating many more cards for my family using these papers.

Hi! I'm Cathy. I live in Sydney and am a Primary School teacher. I am passionate about teaching and love what I do. At present paper crafts are my creative outlet, which is my other passion. I am drawn to vintage, shabby chic styled crafts which I love to create. I do enjoy other crafts such as sewing, quilting, knitting and crotchet…not enough time! I am always inspired to learn and to try new techniques in both teaching and my crafts. I love Maja Design papers and enjoy creating with them.

It’s all vintage

Good morning Maja friends! Are you all doing fine? Have you realized that it’s only two month until you have to send your Christmas cards? That means you soon have to start making them!

This card is made with papers from “Vintage Frost Basics”. I have used both “1st of December” and “10th of December” for this card.

I have used images of angels, lace, chipboard, cheese cloth and a wooden star.

Do you want to see another card? Today my daughters boyfriend turns 23, and I made him a birthday card some days ago.

Here I have used papers from “Vintage Winter”, both “Bake a Christmas cake” and “It’s chilly outside”.

The cool image I found on the Internet and I have decorated the card with cheese cloth, a film strip from Tim Holtz, old buttons, a chipboard star and text stickers.

Hi Maja friends,
Amy here!
I am so excited to show you my first layout as a Maja Girl ;-)Sadly though that I will be filling in for Gabrielle {I will miss her awesome work with Maja} for the next six months but I’ll try and do my best for you all.

I really love this months “mood board” and I was planing to participate in it before I got asked to be on the Maja Design Team! So a masculine layout I will show you today {without any blooms yep that was a real task for me}

The picture I used is one of our handsome son in a German amusement park! He told his dad can I sit on the car to take a picture. My husband said sure you can but I never got around to scrap it.

I always take out my first sheet {that’s darker blue one} cut out the middle part and on top of that a whole bunch of layers. Let’s have a closer look:

I don’t know if some of you already know my work but I love to use chipboard especially with the beautiful Maja Design papers. For this layout I took out all my metal pieces, that had to do anything with gears or cars.

Thank you so much for visiting the blog today and I hope I have inspired you to scrap those masculine pictures. Have a wonderful and creative day!

Love
