Hello Sweeties,
Today I want to share with you my very first project as a member of the Maja Design DT.
IloveNY

I started with my frame. I covered it first with Gesso and used a stencil to add a design to it with heavy Gesso. When dry, I added a layer of black Gesso. I let it dry. I then dry-brushed the whole frame with white Gesso and started to add some colors with pink and silver Silks with the same dry-brush technic. I finished the frame with silver wax.

I used a punch to cut the little hydrangea. I added a little bit of glitter in the center.

The chipboard as simply been embossed with Aged Silver from Stampendous.

After embossing the butterflies, I used a stamp to give them so texture, then I colored them.

Hello, I'm Pascale B. from France. Since I began to scrap, flowers are part of my layouts, and I gradually started to use mixed media as well. I don’t know how to define my style, perhaps something like free vintage shabby style could be a good definition. Visit me at www.pbhobby.blogspot.com

Happy New Year Maya friends! It’s me Heidi blogging my first post today. I’m so excited to be asked to join this amazing designteam with so many talented girls. I’m looking so much forward to work with the Maya papers, and I have so many amazing projects to share with you in 2015.

Today I have made a card for a boy using papers from both the Nyhavn and Vintage Frost Basic collections. I love the Vintage- and Shabby Chic style, and both my paper projects and my home decor are influenced by that.

IMG_3082

To make this card I have used both new and old embellishments, and I have put it together layer by layer. I have sewn with my sewing machine around the edges of the papers, distressed them and I have also add some white Gesso.

Crafting has always been a passion of mine, and since I discovered the amazing world of papercraft years ago I have been completely addicted to it. I love the shabby chic- and vintage style and most of my projects are characterized by the use of vintage photos, lace, flowers and romantic details

Memories, memories …

Hi Maja fans

Zanka here…I’m so happy to be sharing my first official work as a DT member of Maja Design, a team of my dreams !!! As I celebrated my birthday recently, for my first project I picked one of my favorite baby shots with my Mom. It’s a vintage scene and I could almost pick any of Maja papers to frame it, but eventually I picked an elegant palette of greyish beige combined with dusty pink and purple. Not so much media added- I really wanted to showcase the subtle tones and patterns of the papers ! Would you say that I combined 4 different collections here? They coordinate in such an perfect way.

timeless memories Zanka

I have combined the papers with the pieces of a vintage lace and I layered few scraps of different collections to have some variation in the background.

Timeless memories Zanka details

A close up : I love the rose images which can be found in few Maja Design patterns. It’s worth some patience to fussy cut and the roses will lift any blank space!

Supplies Maja Design:

1903 – Vintage Summer Basics

No X – Vintage Autumn Basics

No II – Vintage Autumn Basics

4th of December – Vintage Frost Basics

Ord flyger bort – Crea Diem

From my own stash:

Vintage lace, flowers and zipper by Prima, white twigs by 13arts, oval frame die by Sizzix.

I’m looking forward to share with you more of my works for Maja Design. Stay tuned:)

I really enjoy creating Christmas cards, but there’s something special with a winter layout filled with snow… winter_

My previous layout on the Maja blog was packed with flowers. This one hasn’t got any flowers at all. I have used one of my favourite papers from Vintage Frost Basics for the background.

I sprayed a Tattered Angels mask with Glimmer Mist Slate and used it as a stamp on the background. I added stains of Heidi Swapp Color Shine (Gold Lame and Tinsel). I added white gesso on the snow flake mask (also Tattered Angels) and used that as a stamp as well. I added Viva Decor gold wax here and there. I’ve used a Tim Holtz mask and Shimmerz Texturez (Gritty Graphite and Teal Me No Lies) as well as Mica Flakes from Golden. winter2The chipboards have been layered and sprayed with Glimmer  Mist Slate and Color shine Golden Lame. Padlock from Prima. I have added some snow paint on the chipboards as well. winter3A final close up…

A very happy Christmas to you all!

Jenny
