Most of the chipboard was painted with white crackle paint. For the pink used on the chipboard I used, DA Dusty Pink, then once that dried I applied a coat of clear varnish…

Escape..-001

Hello there, thanks for stopping by the blog. Today I have a layout I created featuring my beautiful Grandaughter, Mia. I have used the “Vintage Spring Basics” paper collection. So soft & pretty & just perfect for this photo. For my background I used the “1st of May” paper. I actually fussy cut around the edge of the paper, taking off about a half inch all way round. I took care to cut around the little flowers in the top left corner & bottom right corner. I then distressed the edges & added a little ink before sticking it down onto the stripe paper, being “4th of May”.

I then cut some strips of contrast papers from the “2nd of May” & the “3rd of May” papers to create some nice layers underneath my photo. This paper collection is just soooo beautiful, the photos  really don’t do it justice.

Next I made some big & small handmade flowers from the “4th of May” paper (stripes), & I added some little pearl stamens to the centres. So nice to have custom made flowers to match my project. 🙂

I have also used the “4th of May” paper to matt my photo too. All the chipboard I have used is from 2Crafty Chipboard.

Escape 5

I have finished off with lots of mauve crushed glass glitter & some tiny pearls scattered around the background.

“Vintage Spring Basics” used….. “1st of May”, “2nd of May”, “3rd of May” & “4th of May”.

Well thats all from me today. I’ll see you back here again in a couple of weeks time.

Until then.

Di Garling

Hi my name is Di Garling. I am married to a very patient man, I have two grown up sons, two grandchildren & a little dog. I owned & operated a Scrapbook shop for eight years here in Australia until I recently sold it & retired. I think retirement is the best kept secret. I love it, it gives me lots of time to enjoy my craft. I still teach scrapbooking & cardmaking once or twice a week, so all in all I am as busy as ever & wouldn't have it any other way.

A very good morning to you, Maja Fans, welcome to the blog today 🙂

Can you feel the spring already? Even if the weather is getting cooler or rainy sometimes, I can feel the warmth in the air, the birds can be heard more often (but do they really need to get up at five? 😉 ) and the days are noticeably longer. And soon the wedding season will be in its highest, so it’s a good idea to stack up some wedding-themed projects. And this time I have one of the most popular gadgets, an exploding box in fresh springy colours:

Naturally, I used the Vintage Spring Basics collection, with its pastel blues, light turqouises and subtle browns. As usually, I based the sides decoration on the beautiful paper designs and concentrated embellishments on the box lid:

When you remove the lid the box open up and reveals the inside sides with a tag to write wishes on and three paper bands to slide money behind.

mdboxex2

I added some purposes on the bands: for a crib, for a journey into the unknown and for wishes to become true 🙂

And as usually, I place a cake in the centre. This time it’s not a cardstock one, but a gorgeous intricate chipboard cake I recently bought and instantly fell in love with 🙂

mdboxex5

In order not to cover it too much, I didn’t use my usual rings of roses around the sides, but just placed a couple of blooms in the front:

Supplies:

Maja Design papers: Vintage Spring Basics: 7th of March, 7th of March bs, 3rd of April bs, 4th of April; Home for the Holidays: Together. Other: flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; dies: Spellbinders, Magnolia; chipboard: Wycinanka.pl; ribbon, lace, crystals: my stash.

see you later 🙂

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful Easter. I definitely enjoyed my long weekend filled with lots of crafting and relaxing.
Today I have a new layout to share with you using the gorgeous pastel colours in the Vintage Spring Basics and Vintage Summer Basics collections
On this layout I have used the papers:  9th of April from the Vintage Spring Basics Collection, plus 1904  1934, and  1924  from the Vintage Summer Basics Collection. I cut the paper into strips and used all four pieces as my background then I used the left over pieces to layer under my photo.
On my background I used Gelato’s in Snow Cone,  Fig and Strawberry through a stencil, and then  I used a word stencil with modeling paste.  Next I used a brick stamp with embossing ink and teal embossing powder.  I also used this same embossing powder on the Mesh chipboard which I tucked in behind my layers,  then a pale purple embossing powder on the chipboard word Cherish.
I embellished my layout with lace, resin, gems and of course loads of flowers.
Maja Design Papers Used:
Vintage Spring Basics Collection:9th of April
Vintage Summer Basics Collection: 1904  1934, and  1924
