Welcome to the Maja Design Blog! It’s Nancy, and I’m so excited to be here with you today! I’m sharing a new card inspired by Maja Design’s stunning Vintage Summer Basics Collection. This week I’m opting for a soothing, neutral palette, handmade mixed media blooms, and some fun rubber stamping.

The base of the card is formed by distressing, layering, and stitching lovely Maja Design papers.

The flowers are created with mulberry paper and a plethora of products to add texture and color. They coordinate with the card perfectly in real life. I think the camera picked up on the sheen in some of the sprays, giving them a brighter gold tone in my photos. My hands will be stained for days, but these flowers were ever so much fun!

Below is a side view of the bouquet and it’s many layers.

Artistic tearing reveals a second layer of  design paper.

Below is a closer look at the stamped image and stitching. One of the rubber stamps is an ad for paint, so I blended some acrylics to coordinate with the design paper and randomly splattered it about the card.

The twine bow and flower stamens are stained to fit in with the color palette.

The interior of the card is finished in design papers and stamping, but my photos of it didn’t turn out well. The picture below gives you an idea of how it’s completed. A 7

Hello dear friends! Its Evgenia Petzer with you today and I wanted to share 2 different, yet feminine cards that I created using The Vintage series of Maja Design. I love the rose prints of these papers that are almost in every collection (I think the exception is just the winter collections).

Also on both cards I have fussy cut the tags, some layering, flowers and the cards are ready…

I have used the Vintage Autumn collection for the first card and the Vintage Summer collection for the second card.

Have lovely weekend.

Hello and happy Tuesday! I’m thrilled to welcome you to the Maja Design Blog! It’s Nancy here today, and I’m getting in the swing of summer with a card created from Maja Design’s beautiful Vintage Summer Basics collection.

I begin by distressing, layering, and stitching design papers to form a base for my card. Here, several layers of the same die cut are repeated in different patterns and directions.

A tiny Prima postcard stamp adds just the right touch in the top corner.

The flowers are handcrafted using design paper and dusted with gesso. Mini glass pearls are scattered here and there for a feminine touch.

The focal image is created using an older Inkadinkado stamp that’s been gathering dust in my stamp cabinet.

Hello Crafters,

when talking about cardmaking what paper size you prefer ?

well, as for me it is difficult to say exactly. I guess that each piece of paper is perfect for the card. However I decided to try to make almost the same cards design but mix the paper sizes of the same collection and patterned papers.

I took Vintage Summer Basics collection and picked one of my favorites papers.

ShabbyCards_MajaDEsign_Sneak2

I like the mix of pale pink, mauve and peach.

For my second card I used lamost the same embellishments but try to take the same paper from the 6*6 paper pad

I used the same dies, the smaller size of resin frame.

and look – it looks almost the same and absolutely different at the same time.

Can you feel the difference?

Goodmorning lovelies,

Oh how I love that summer is kicking in here in The Netherlands as maybe many of you know I really love those long warm summer day’s. Today I would like to show you a card I created with the beautiful “Vintage Summer Basics”collection. Not long ago I was asked “which” collection I like best, and I said it is so hard to choose but I did and this collection wasn’t among my favorites but I have to say it’s growing on me like every collection Maja Design has…….still unbelievable that I design for this amazing company.

I used four different sheets of this wonderful collection and layered them all on top of each other to give it more dimension! On top of that I used some “Scrapiniec” chipboard and Petaloo flowers and the flower in the middle is by “Tresors de Luxe”…..The text I used means a lot to me because life can be over in a blink.

What is your favorite collection that Maja Designs made? What I like about the chipboard I used is that you don’t have to treat it with anything and just use it plane like it is….not many chipboard companies have that!
