Hello friends!

Today a new layout as memory on wonderful, relaxed days by the sea. It’s very hot here and I wish I could be there now. So it was a pleasure for me to think on the refreshing sea breeze, clear air and restful moments and tranquillity.

I was inspired from the wonderful blue shade from the paper sheet 1934 (Vintage Summer Basics), the right colour and background and absolutely suitable to my photo from our sunshine dog ‘Filou’. Then I cut out two children (Playing at the beach) and used paper sheet ‘Casual’ for cutting dies. Three various collection, but the colours are always tone in and can be wonderfully combined.

I also used some chipboards (Scrap FX, Blue Fern Studios) cutting dies (Joy Craft), background stamps(49 and Market) and very importantly for me shells, a natural starfish, baltic sea sand and a wooden seahorse. I love it to use such natural products
then it feels like you’re there yourself.

Hello everyone!

Although it’s still spring, we are already having summer temperatures here

first strawberries in our garden are ripe.

It’s the most wonderful time in the garden, everything blooms and fragrance.

Do you know the wonderful sheet ‘Is always the best’ from the Summertime Collection?

Is one of my favourites, this paper is so beautiful, that you could put it in a picture frame right away to hang it on the wall.

I’m absolutely in love with the delicate designs of the papers,

because the motifs and colours reminds me on roses, strawberries, hikes across field and hallway, bicycle tours and much more.

Thanks for your visit!

Have a wonderful time!

Hello everyone!

Kerstin is back with a vintage layout. I used a very old photo from my ancestors, a beautiful memory for our family.

The latest amazing Maja Design Collection ‘Celebrate’ http://majadesign.nu/products/celebration/
was very suitable to my photo to this very special day so many years ago.

It’s always a good idea to create with frames on scrapbooking layout.

I added a printed chipboard frame on the lower right side with a very wise saying in it.

The second frame around the photo was made with cutting dies and old crafty paper in weathered look.

 some details
fussy cutting flowers from paper sheet ‘You’re invited’ and flowers with
Sizzix Thinlits die ‘Small tattered flowers’ from the papper sheet ‘Glamour bs’
a frame made with craft paper, that’s leftovers from a cutting die
a printed chipboard frame with a wise saying on transparent foil from Scrap FX
Thanks for your visit!
Happy crafting!

Hello friends!

Soon is Mother’s Day and I want to give a little attention to my mother. I created a mixed media frame in a delicate shabby chic look.

I used a simply frame as basic. Firstly I made some ornaments with the help of moulds and air drying modeling clay.

These were glued to the frame with heavy gel medium, I added some metallic sticker too.

Then I painted everything over with Chalky Finish ‘Vintage’ paint from DecoArt.

Now put some heavy white gesso over the embellishments to bring out the texture and details on the frame.

some details

I used paper sheet ‘Birthday’ as background and the beautiful lady from ‘Emphemera’ 12 x 12

little lady was a cut out from the 6 x 6 paper back

I’ve always loved the combination of these colours and the beautiful ‘Celebration’ paper is probably my favourite in the stash.

Cut to fit and complemented with a metal frame from Prima and some blooms, the new frame in altered art was finished.

Suitable to this frame I made two wooden handpainted candle holds with her favourite flowers

and a irish crochet doily.

Thanks for your visit!

Have a beautiful time!

Hello creative friends!

Today I want to explain how you can create a vintage romance layout with an altered 3D frame as your central focal point.

I create a very simple layout because the paper alone gives all the magic effect.

I think is one of my fav in this collection ‘Enjoying Outdoors’ – ‘Singing in the rain’.

I love the beautiful edge design and the girl on the right side and I like people who smile when it’s raining.

Times are not always easy, but I always try to make the most of it.

Take a break from the hectic everyday life and relax.

I started by creating an altered frame for my photo.

Want to see how I made this? Here I have some photos from the making.

Snapguide How to an Altered 3D Frame

Now to the background, first I primed with clear gesso, then I used Distress ink ‘Seedless preserves’ on a stencil, it’s the same colour how you can find on this paper sheet.

Next, I added a Glimmer Mist Spray ‘Kiwi’ from Tattered Angels

to the background arround the area of the photo.

then I use two die cuts to add more dimension

(Wordlet ‘Do what you love’ and ‘Girl under umbrella’)

with papers from ‘Vintage Romance’.

Afterwards I choose some embellishments to decorate this romance layout,

for instance from Prima Marketing (garden gates, butterfly), flowers, lace, fabric leftovers,

water drops, little resin flowers.

I builded a small cluster on the right side under the photo.

suitable to the titel ‘singing in the rain’ I added some pearl drops and another umbrella from a die cut, as well as a clockface

from the ‘No. XVI’ (Vintage Autumn Basics) above with a glass cabochon.

The ‘Welcome’ sign is a photo cutout with a underlaid folder music paper sheet.

3D look

This project was so much fun to create and I love the 3D effect that you can build up.

Questions??? you’re welcome :-)!

I hope my project can give you some inspiration for your work with Maja Design papers.

What is your favourite paper sheet??

Have a beautiful day!
