Good morning, Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today ๐Ÿ™‚

A couple of years ago on one of the craft forums I found a challenge called “Project Revisited”. The challenge meant that you recreate a past project of yours, whether introducing some changes or not. I thought this was great for beginners to check on their progress, but also for any crafter, just for fun. And so with a recent Confirmation card order I thought of this challenge and recreated a card I made a couple of years ago.

I used the Miles Apart collection for the card and kept the design mostly unchanged, but while I used just Monochrome papers then, I decided to go for a patterned paper this time, choosing my favourite rose bouquets pattern and I just LOVE how fresh and delicate it looks!

In the previous card the die-cut doilies were supposed to add some texture and interest to the background, and here I found they provide the structure for the design and make the background less busy. I think it’s awesome how the same element can have opposite functions when used in different contexts!

As the card was supposed to go into an envelope I went easier on the flower cluster than in the past card, but it still has a nice dimension:

And here’s what I used for this version of the card:

And how about you? Do you “visit” your past projects sometimes, and if yes, do you change much?

See you soon!

Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today ๐Ÿ™‚

I still can’t get over the Miles Apart collection! I hope you can’t either, as I bring you another card I made using that beautiful set:

I wanted this wedding card to be delicate, pastel and romantic, so I chose light papers in ivory and blush pink to make a background for a die-cut oval panel, upon which I placed a chipboard piece in the shape of newlyweds riding a bike. I think it’s a nice symbol of their future together, commonย  goals and direction ๐Ÿ™‚

I covered the chipboard with subtle irridescent glitter to give it a more glamorous look. I also added a hand-cut stamp image from the Ephemera sheet, a “Postcard” stamped word and a couple of flowers. Opalescent sequins, ribbon with wedding rings pattern and tring complete the design.

The card turned out pleasantly dimensional…

…so I put it in a box decorated with metallic washi tape:

I love how the Miles Apart collection can be used for delicate, romantic projects ๐Ÿ™‚ What do you think?

And here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: Chipboard: Wycinanka.pl; flowers: Prima; die: CreaLies; stamp: Tim Holtz; ribbon, sequins: my stash.

And that’s all for today, stay safe and well and visit us again soon for more inspiration!

Thank You Teacher Cards

Good morning, dear Maja Fans, welcome to the blog today ๐Ÿ™‚

Autumn is the season mostly associated with the beginning of another school year and with celebrating Teacher’s Day – in Poland it comes on October 14th. And for that occasion I made a set of two cards using the Miles Apart collection:

The cards share the same design, with stamped, embossed and hand-coloured images of books and pencils that I arranged into a pile and topped with chipboard feathers. I placed this combo upon a background composed of triangular pieces of papers. I finished the cards with a stamped quotation and mini flowers. One of the cards features green, brown and orange papers of the collection and I thought it would make a great card for a man:

For the other card I used the colour combo of green and pink patterns, so that it’s more feminine and delicate:

I simply love the versatility of this collection, suitable for such a wide range of themes and projects!

Here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: stamps: Lemonade, Agateria; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts, chipboard: Miszmasz Papierowy; bling: Papermania.

That’s all for today, thank you very much for visiting and drop by soon for more inspiration from my talented friends from DT ๐Ÿ™‚

Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today ๐Ÿ™‚

Continuing the Miles Apart festival ๐Ÿ˜‰ we’re having on the blog, I bring you a layout I made using this beautiful collection:

Having made some smaller projects I shared with you in my previous posts I wanted to make a layout – but believe me, I had the hardest time just choosing the papers! There are so many gorgeous patterns I wanted to show but at the same time I didn’t want to make my page overwhelmed so much that both the photo and papers get lost. I wanted to make it soft and delicate to best compliment the photo of my cousin’s baby daughter. And after much consideration I selected soft blue patterns with a touch of pink flowers against a neutral sand background. First I applied filigree flourishes with a stencil and texture paste:

…then hand-cut some tags:

…then added a chipboard title embossed with crisp white powder:

…and mimicked the printed flower bouquets with dimensional flowers:

I also added powder blue lace to refer to the one in the photo:

I also included some opalescent sequins to add soft shine to my design.

Here’s my list of supplies:

Maja Design papers:

Other: chipboard: Scrapiniec; flowers: Prima, Wild Orchid Crafts; stencil: Agateria; lace, sequins: my stash.

After all that pain ๐Ÿ˜‰ of picking papers I really like the way it turned out! What do you think?

Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today ๐Ÿ™‚

As you can easily tell by the titlte, I bring you a wedding card today that I made using the latest Maja release, the Miles Apart collection:

You most definitely know that Miles Apart papers feature some beautiful and romantic flower patterns that are just perfect for occasions like a wedding. But this time instead of putting those gorgeous flowers in the card background, I took inspiration from them and tried to recreate the bouquet ON the card. And so I chose delicate light papers for the background and added a flower cluster that imitates the patterned papers:

To the rose bouquet I added die-cut leaves, crystal gems and some chipboard ornaments. Vintage ribbon and enamel dots complete the design:

Just look how nicely dimensional it turned out!

…which means it needed a box too ๐Ÿ™‚ I decorated it with washi tape with rose pattern – a perfect match!

What do you think? I must say I’m quite satisfied ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: dies: Magnolia; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; ribbon: Na Strychu; chipboard: Scrapiniec, Wycinanka.pl; gems: my stash.

See you soon!
