Hello Sweeties

Today I’m up on Maja Design blog with a new layout featuring the Joyous Winterdays collection. I chose to work with a photomontage I’ve made, inspired by The Castle of The Pyrénée by René Magritte. Oh, I forget to tell you that there is a step-by-step video showing you how I make this layout.

Mont Saint Michel by Pascale B.

I stamped randomly the background with two of my stamps Pascale’s Form and Pascale’s Grammar with a black Archival ink. Next, I primed the background with clear gesso.

When dry, I used different stamps to add some color to the background with different inks. I finished with splatters of the same inks. When happy with the result, I added a design with a stencil and white crackle paste.

While the paste was drying, I colored the Archival board with Magicals. Next, I sprinkled them with an embossing powder to add some interest.

I colored the flowers with two inks: one peach, one vintage rose.

I cut a few papers to add under the photo and I glue all the embellishments with a 3D gel. To finish the layout I added some Art Stone and microbeads.

Goodmorning Maja Fans,

Are you loving the new collection as much as I do? What I love about it, is that it has some black/grey sheets in it. Today I would like to show you four mixed media tags I made with the black/grey & pink papers. I also used the pictures in the collection, something I don’t do very often & some older Prima Marketing flowers that I had in my stash for some time now and some of 49 and Market. And of course some Dusty Attic chipboards…..

The size of the tags are 10 cm by 15 cm and I cut the patterned at 4 cm and the other part 6 cm. Then I stamped on there with two different background stamps by Creative Embellishments after that I sprayed with two Lindy’s sprays to soften the black a little then I added a stencil and some cheese cloth. I was also inspired by our mood board for this and next month hope you are to and play along.

Maja Design papers used: Celebration 6×6 paper pad.

Thank you so much for your visit I sure hope I have inspired you to play with your amazing Maja Design papers you have in you stash or even order new products I have used here. We are still giving away the new collection on our Facebook page so please do enter to win the new collection.

Have a lovely day!4

Good Morning Maja friends!

The time is right for a new winter inspiration. Actually snow should be here now and the frost pinch in the cheeks, but our winter weather is and remains dead loss. It’s grey and dreary, but the best time for crafting, or?!

I love the timeless delicate colors and designs of this beautiful paper collection, always suitable to a lot of various themes. I used this striped design as background, colours reminds me on frosty days,

on a walk through the snowy winter wood and all the secrets you can discover there.

Hello sweeties..!

I hope our 10 years jubilee hasn’t gone unnoticed by now. 😉 We just can’t beleive that such a long time has passed since the inception of MajaDesign..! And it has really been a great decade – soo worth celebrating. ♥

Since we’re still in a party mood over here the theme for the Mood board for January and February of course is …CELEBRATION. We hope you like it. ♥

This is how we use the mood boards:

Definition mood board – n

[a board used by designers on which samples of various colours and textures are mounted to help in deciding which elements complement each other]

We are using mood boards for our challenges. We truly believe in creativity and art at Maja Design. You are free to interpret the mood boards in any way you’d like. They are supposed to set you in an inspirational mood without too much controlling. We would like you to be inspired by the poems, words and photos. They are not given rules, they are just there as inspiration. However – we highly recommend you to follow the theme.. Feel free to use any Maja papers you’d like as long as they follow the colour scheme.

We will pick a winner and present it here on the blog February 27th.

Have in mind that these challenges are a really great way for us to discover new talents and maybe some future Creative Team members…

How to participate?

♥ Create anything you’ll like – a layout, a card, something altered or maybe a canvas. Use Maja papers primarily! Take a nice picture of it and send it to moodboard@majadesign.nu. We also need to know your full name, address and a phone number. Please specify what collection you would like to win, if you are the lucky one. We will also want to know if you would like it in the size 12*12 or 6*6. Please send us the pictures in the size of 800 pixels on the width. We would be so grateful if you also could change the file name of the photo to your first and last name including your country.

♥ Feel free to send us more than one picture, from different angles or some close-ups – or why not more than one project?

♥ Publish the project/s on your blog (or/and any social media, e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest) with a link to our site. Please also add the image of the mood board.

♥ Feel free to combine your entry with other challenges.

♥ The winner will be revealed the last Tuesday each month, at the Maja blog. The winner will be sent one collection by their choice.

We need your creation by February 22nd at the latest.

Hello, friends! I wish you a warm and cozy  welcome to the Maja Design Blog! It’s Nancy here, and I’m super excited to share a card created with Maja Design’s newest collection, Celebration, with you. The new release is in honor of Maja Design’s 10th anniversary, and if you haven’t checked this festive collection out yet, you’re in for a treat.  It’s filled with fabulous patterns, colors, and spectacular vintage images reminiscent of the romance and gaiety of the roaring twenties.

This lovely image of a fashionable ‘flapper’ lady forms a perfect focal point, and is fussy cut from the paper collection. Black is heavily featured in the palette because it reminds me of a Coco Chanel quote, “Women think of all colors except the absence of color. I have said that black has it all.” When it comes to style I’m always inspired  by Coco Chanel quotes!

Pearl sprays, roses, and a loopy bow add an irresistibly feminine touch. Of course, there must be pearls on this card, because according to Coco Chanel, “A woman needs ropes and ropes of pearls.” I happen to agree with her completely.

The sentiment and roses are also fussy cut from the paper collection. There are quite a few layers here, many of which are popped up with foam adhesive to add dimension.

Maja Design Papers Used:

Other Products Used: Pearl Sprays, Twine, Paper Roses, Detail Scissors, Foam pop up adhesive, Sewing Machine, Thread.

Thank you so much for sharing your time with us at the Maja Design Blog! I send wishes for all things good and wonderful.

Hugs,

Nancy Dynes
