Good morning Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today 🙂

In less than a fortnight Polish schoolchildren will be free from school until September 🙂 So it’s an intensive time of last chances to get better grades and thank your teachers. And so for today I have two simple thank you teacher cards to share:

Just as with the Denim&Friends collection, I wanted to check whether the feminine version, Denim&Girls, would make masculine projects too 😉 And so I used these papers to make a feminine and a masculine card. I used the same design for both cards, so only the paper patterns make a difference. The she-teacher card features a hint of pink and some flower patterns:

And the he-teacher version shows off some geometrical designs and darker colour palette:

And so again, it turns out you can use Maja Design papers for any project and theme, and you are not limited to its original theme 🙂

Here’s what I used for my cards:

Maja Design papers:

Other: flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; dies: Spellbinders; stamp: Lemonade; brads: Craftmania; charms: my stash.

I hope the teachers who get the cards would feel appreciated! After all, they are like second parents to our kids 🙂

See you soon!

Celebrate with A Slider Card Using Two Collections

Jennifer Snyder here today sharing a traditional card with a surprising twist – it’s a slider card.  I chose two collections to mix to complete the look of my card – papers from the collections; Life by the Sea and Life in the Country.  Maja Design collections can often be mixed  – it’s part of the charm and versatility of Maja Design collections.
These are the papers I used from the Life By the Sea collection:
 Drop the Anchor
Bottled Message
West Coast
The paper from Life in the Country collection:
Strawberries with Ice
The slider card is a die set from Spellbinders and was so much fun to use.
This is a special card because it’s going to be sent across the world to my nephew who is serving overseas in the military.
A card is a great way to say, “Hello, you are special and I am thinking of you.”  But an interactive slider card says, “Wow!  You are loved, super special AND I really miss you.”
This is a close up of the slider car when it’s open.  Fun, right?  So many possibilities when you mix Maja Design collections.

Here is one last look at the card.

Thanks for stopping here today.
Go grab some Maja Design papers, make a special card and send someone a hug.

Welcome creative friends!

I don’t know I you have seen my latest layout ‘My fave Jeans’

with the newest Maja Design collection ‘Denim & Girls’.

I used some parts from my sorted out jeans.

But it’s not necessary to cut up your favorite jeans ;-)!!

As Marie says:” If you want that denim-feel but don’t want to cut your jeans apart

you can always use the denim-looking sheets of the Denim & Friends collection,

they do match the Denim & Girls line perfectly.”

But my favorite jeans also had wonderful pockets :-)! and they had to be used in a handicrafts project. I like to wear jeans and love the combination with delicate white lace blouses or cool T-shirts. With a pair of jeans you are always dressed right., a real inspiration source.

some close up’s

used papers

‘Girls in Denim’

‘ Tight fit’

‘Love my Jeans’

‘Tough but sweet’

‘Roses’

I think and feel in jeans blue :-)!

– Next time you’re feeling blue

Just let a smile begin –

Happy crafting!

Hi everyone! It’s Camilla here again with a card I made with the lovely papers from the Vintage Spring Basics Collection.

Here I have made a window with a birdhouse inside. The dies used are from Magnolia.

Here you can see a close up of how the birdhouse is built up.

Just love working with these beautiful Maja papers. As you can see I have added Fran-tage here and there.

Thank you so much for visiting the Maja Design blog today!

With love,

Hi MajaDesign followers!

June is here and it is time for a new challenge. Firstly, I would like to thank all you fans out there for the great respons to our latest line “Denim & Girls” ♥ It has been a real hit! And of course we had to make this month’s mood board all about girls in jeans…
Do you have a favourite pair yourself? How do you want them, loose, tight or maybe ripped..?

Make sure to not miss the lovely inspiration from our talented Creative Team down below. Take a special look at Kerstin’s layout. She’s treasured her favourite jeans by actually using bits and pieces of them in the layout (the were so worn out that they fell a part).  If you want that denim-feel but don’t want to cut your jeans apart you can always use the denim-looking sheets of the Denim & Friends collection, they do match the Denim & Girls line perfectly. If you do not have the Denim & Girls papers yet, it’s no problem! You can use any other MajaDesign paper as long as you follow the color scheme. And this is what you have to play with:

This is how we use the mood boards:
Definition mood board – n
[a board used by designers on which samples of various colours and textures are mounted to help in deciding which elements complement each other]

We truly believe in creativity and art at Maja Design and you are free to interpret the Mood board in any way you’d like. They are supposed to set you in an inspirational mood without too much controlling. We would like you to be inspired by the poems, words and photos. They are not given rules, they are just there as inspiration. However – we highly recommend you to follow the theme.. Feel free to use any Maja papers you’d like as long as they follow the colour scheme. You can use all of the colors, or only one of them – that’s up to you.

How to participate?

♥ Create anything you like – a layout, a card, something altered or maybe a canvas. Use MajaDesign papers primarily!

♥ Take a nice picture of it and send it to moodboard@majadesign.nu. Please send us the pictures in the size of 800 pixels on the width. We would be so grateful if you also could change the file name of the photo to your first and last name including your country.

♥ We also need to know your full name, address and a phone number. Please specify what collection* you would like to win, if you are the lucky one. We will also want to know if you would like it in the size 12*12 or 6*6, thank you.

♥ Feel free to send us more than one picture, from different angles or some close-ups – or why not more than one project?

♥ Publish the project/s on your blog (or/and any social media, e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest) with a link to our site. Please also add the image of the mood board.

♥ Feel free to combine your entry with other challenges.

♥ The winner will be revealed on the 28th, at the MajaDesign blog. The winner will be sent one collection by their choice*, and also a digital Winner’s Badge to use and brag with.

*Note that we have run out of a few sheets of som of our collections (e.g. the Sofiero collection) We will contact you if this applies to your chosen collection.

We need your entry by the 25th of June at the latest.
