Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today πŸ™‚

In some countries the first adult birthday comes when you turn 21, but in many, Poland including, it’s as early as 18. It’s usually an occasion to throw a big party and celebrate entering adulthood while still being entitled to behave like a teenager πŸ™‚ And it’s a great occasion to give a handmade card too, isn’t it?

I was really happy when my all-time favourite collection Denim&Friends got its girly partner πŸ™‚ I love the images sheet, the colours and patterns that refer to and complete the masculine papers. And to celebrate this new addition to the Maja paper family I decided to make the cards with these two collections. Both feature images in the centre of design and navy blue accents.

The girl’s version adds a touch of pink and a bit of glamour with crystal gems and the digits cut out from gold metallic mirror cardstock:

In the card for a boy I added some steampunk elements also die-cut from gold cardstock. Just as in the girl’s card I incorporated the “You’re a star” phrase – in the previous card it was printed in the background paper, here it’s a snippet of the signature strip:

I really like the way the cards turned out – simple but pleasant to the eye πŸ™‚ What do you think?

And here’s what I used:

Maja Desing papers:

Other: dies: Rosy Owl, Joy! Crafts; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; crystals: Prima.

And when do you celebrate the first adult birthday in your country?

Good morning Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today πŸ™‚

In less than a fortnight Polish schoolchildren will be free from school until September πŸ™‚ So it’s an intensive time of last chances to get better grades and thank your teachers. And so for today I have two simple thank you teacher cards to share:

Just as with the Denim&Friends collection, I wanted to check whether the feminine version, Denim&Girls, would make masculine projects too πŸ˜‰ And so I used these papers to make a feminine and a masculine card. I used the same design for both cards, so only the paper patterns make a difference. The she-teacher card features a hint of pink and some flower patterns:

And the he-teacher version shows off some geometrical designs and darker colour palette:

And so again, it turns out you can use Maja Design papers for any project and theme, and you are not limited to its original theme πŸ™‚

Here’s what I used for my cards:

Maja Design papers:

Other: flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; dies: Spellbinders; stamp: Lemonade; brads: Craftmania; charms: my stash.

I hope the teachers who get the cards would feel appreciated! After all, they are like second parents to our kids πŸ™‚

See you soon!

Good morning, Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today πŸ™‚

In many countries Mother’s Day was already celebrated, but in Poland it comes on May 26th, so just in two days πŸ™‚ And since my getting married I have two moms, I made two cards for the occasion, using the latest collection by Maja Design, Denim & Girls:

For the foccal points of my cards I chose images from the Girls In Jeans sheet. As jeans and laces are totally my thing πŸ˜‰ I thought the images would represent me giving flowers to my moms.

In one card I stamped and embossed the sentiment diretly onto the image piece and then mounted it over layered papers and added some mini roses and a filigree chipboard flourish:

As I like adding tiny elements to my projects, I cut out a star tag from the signature strip and accented it with glitter:

In the other card I mimicked the jeans-lace layers from the image, using paper and cotton lace, and then added a resin heart filled with miniroses. Glitter and some bling add the glamour touch:

I hope my moms would like the cards – do you? πŸ™‚

Here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; stamps: Lemonade; chipboard: Scrapiniec; bling, string, lace – my stash.

So that’s all for today, thank you for visiting – and happy Mother’s Day to all moms out there!
