Hello dear friends! Its Evgenia Petzer with you today. Every year I am sending lots of christmas cards. With the computers and emails we sent daily, there is really something special to receive the letter that you can open, touch and even smell… So again I have started the preparations for this christmas season early… yes, its eally early. But i have another reason… there are so many wonderful christmas papers and really something special in this season that I just cant help myself to stop playing with this theme.

So I pulled some of the papers and winter embellishmnets out and made three easy cards, that look like ensemble together.

I also love the look that this beautiful die cut from Memory Box gives. I specially picked the white cardstock to cut it with and it’s beautiful!march_petzer1 some close ups:march_petzer1_det2 march_petzer1-det1march_petzer2 really beautiful sparkly buttons are from my old stash, i just love that feeling hen I use something that I bought ages ago, is it just me?

and the last card for today’s post is this cute card. I must say that the sheet with those mittens ws one of my favourite of this collection, so cute!march_petzer3I love to use mica fragments on my winter projects, they help me to imitate the snow, sparkly effect…march_petxr3_det1 march_petzer3_det2For all these cards I have used this wonderful collection (Vintage Frost Basics):

I have used the paper pad from it as well as this sheet with die cuts.

Have a wonderful day:) and as a joke of our spring weather we have snow outside to match the theme of my post:)

Hugs,

Hello dear friends! Its Evgenia Petzer with you today. Although its almost spring on a calendar, I still have some temptation to play with my christmas photos. So this time I have prepared the layout with the photo of me and my kids around this year’s christmas time.

Lets have a look and then I will tell you more details about my layout.

maja design christmas layout

As you can see I have started my layout by appling the mask and using the golden gel medium over it and then sprayed with some mists (I have used both prima and Shimmerz on here). I laso have added lots of Dusty attic chipboard and thir paint on top of it.

Then I draw a heart on a pink sheet (5th of December) and fussy cut it and used it as one of my layers under my photos and embellishments.

Though the papers are much more delictae, muted colors, I still decided to keep my photo in color and then just to add some splashes of those colors in my layout by tiny bits here and there.DAFebpostLodet1 CA2A2099Sequins are very popular now and I alos love this new trend, so to maintain lots of blue colro that my photo has, I have used some of teh sequins on my layout, as well as lots of bids. I apply those little things on glossy acent by Ranger.

Have a lovely, sunny day in your part of the world. I really hope I have inspired you a bit to take your winter/christmas photos out.

Maja Design papers used:

Die cut sheet, On Christmas morning (those two sheets are from a Gift for you collection) and 5th of December from Vintage Frost Basics collection.

A tertial calendar for 2015

Today I would like to share with you a calendar which I made for 2015, using ours kids school photos and the beautiful papers from Maja Design various collections. It is my first ever handmade calendar and I was a bit afraid that I will not have a patience to make a page for each month 😉  Instead I made a 4-pager – one page for each tertial (and each of our children) and one with the whole year overview.

I found a website where you can print out a year calendar in different formats. I printed one on a piece of Maja Design paper cut to a size A5. I decorated the corners with a collage of cut outs.

I composed each page in 2 parts- one plain, containing the calendar and the upper part decorated with photos and papers. The calendar is free-standing, mounted on a triangle cardstock base, so each page could get as much dimensional elements as I wanted.

As the bottom part is plain, I could pick almost any pattern to set the theme for the upper part. Many of MD collections have a paper with cut out elements which are perfect for the matting under the photos.

For the ‘boy’ page I created a fairytale scene with the houses of Nyhavn and the vintage baloons of Vintage Autumn Basics.

Products I used:
Nyhavn – Old townhouses, Strolling along the canal, Sitting at the dock
Vintage Autumn Basics – No II, No XVI, No XIV, Heritage
Vintage Summer Basics – 1922,
Vintage Frost – 22nd of December
Vintage Spring Basics – Days to remember
Coffee in the harbour- Flourishing garden
Crea Diem – Ord flyger bort

Other supplies: gesso, chipboard (BFS) , flowers

Thanks for stopping by, it was a long post so I hope you have enjoyed it 🙂

Hello, Maja Fans!

It’s Maja Nowak here to share a love-filled layout 🙂

I guess we’re all thinking St.Valentine’s now 😉 Love has many names, and one of them is a mother’s love towards her children – and vice versa. I’m lucky enough to receive much love from my sons every day – they are not ashamed (yet!!) to express their affection towards parents 🙂 And here’s a layout that shows my younger one “Mommy, I’m looking at you with love” 😉

mdloveI decided upon a deep pink-grey-white colour combo – pink for the boys too! But my son decided it was not “very girly pink” and so I could use it 🙂 I used the latest collection, Nyhavn, with accents from the previous wintery papers, A Gift For You and Vintage Frost Basics. I layered sheets of paper and stamped the top paper before arranging embellishments:

mdlove1I made the heart the main design motif, die-cutiing and punching several hearts. I took three largest ones, matted them with papers and machine-sewed. Then I added some choeesecloth underneath:

mdlove2Then I added some flowers and other embellishments, including the vintage shabby ribbon bow:

mdlove4For the title, I used a chipboard word that I covered with crackle Distress paint and inked:

mdlove3And how about you? Do you use pink tones for your boys’ pages? 🙂

Supplies:

Maja Design papers: Nyhavn: Romantic lunch-bs, Veteran ships-bs, King’s square-bs, Strolling along the canal, A Gift For You: Hope to see you soon, Vintage Frost Basics: 4th of December. Other: stamp: Prima; flowers: Prima, Rapakivi; resin elements: Prima, Melissa Frances; chipboard: SnipArt; punches: Woodware; die: Cheery Lynn Designs;  metal charms: my stash.

Lots of love!
