Hello! It’s Nancy here, and I wish you  the warmest of welcomes to the Maja Design Blog. I hope a lovely Easter was had by all. Today I’m sharing a card I have created for my dear friend’s birthday. For this project I’m drawn to a soothing palette in her favorite color, and I found just what I’m looking for in Maja Design’s Vintage Summer Basics paper collection. This collection is a staple for me and coordinates well with Maja Design’s other paper collections.

The larger flowers are handmade using design papers. If you’d like to make this style of  flower you’ll find a link to the step by step tutorial in the sidebar of my blog. All papers are not created equal, and after thorough testing I have determined that Maja Design paper is the best for flower making. It stands up perfectly to all of the twisting and shaping I use in my process, which breaks down lesser quality papers to shreds.

A trio of sweet butterflies flutter about my little flower garden.

Stamping along the edges adds a special touch, as does the sentiment stamp (below) which is just perfect for my friend.

Decorative corner die cuts anchor the florals as they cascade down the card.

Below is a peek at the interior of the card.

Maja Design Papers Used:

Other Products Used: Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die, Cottage Cutz Decorative Corner die, Butterfly Punch, Spellbinders Circles dies, Heartfelt Creations Flower Shaping Kit, Prima and Spellbinders stamps, flower stamens, archival ink, twine, Prima Gesso, Wild Orchid Crafts flowers.

Thank you so much for joining us today. If you’re interested in any of the papers you see here just click on the STORE FINDER tab at the top of the blog to be taken to a vendor in your country. May your week be filled with happiness and crafty delights!

Hugs,

Good morning, Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today 🙂

I have recently had the pleasure of making a sweet birthday card for a sweet girl.

I used mostly Denim & Friends papers as they matched the colours from the photo most perfectly. I added just a touch of the Vintage Summer pink in the background:

I have die-cut the embellishments from the papers, such as the cute heart banners and the number flag:

I stamped the cute beart with a heart, coloured it and paper-pieced the heart using a scrap of the Vintage Romance heart-patterned paper. I then added a small letter “O” for the girl’s name:

I also added plaid ribbon and some mini flowers and cute white pom-poms as the finishing touch.

And I think the card symbolises the 9-year-old girls quite accurately: still cute, but not too much 😉 What do you think?

Here are my supplies:

Maja Design papers:

Other: dies: Marianne Design, Craft Passion; stamp: ScrapBerry’s; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; ribbon: Rayher, pom-poms: my stash.

Before I bid you goodbye, I’d like to wish you a joyous Easter filled with the warmth of love and kindness 🙂

See you soon!

Hello Sweeties,

Today I’m up on Maja Design blog with a new layout featuring the Vintage Summer collection. I work with a photomontage I made.

La Dame de Brissac by Pascale B.

First, I primed the background with clear gesso. When done, I added some random stamping with different stamps and inks.

Next, I colored the background with two inks. When dry, I added a design with a stencil and white crackle paste that I let dry naturally to allow the cracks to appear.

When the paste was dried, I dry brushed the colored areas with white gesso to tone down the color. Next, I splattered some brown ink.

I cut a few papers to add under the photo before gluing all the embellishments.

Next, I added some mica flakes and microbeads.

To finish, I added some random stamping.

Hello Maja Friends,

April is coming, however I found a picture taken in August and felt that I need to create something with it immediately, though I skipped the Spring time.

Well, I do like the end of summer, due to the harvest, the  smell of hay, and most of all because of the apples season.

So the apples were my main focus this time. I die cut the trees using the die, and used the negative die cut too. I also make some watercoloring inside this negative die cut tree

I add some drops of watercolors on the stairs die cut too

I didn’t want to be my layout busy with the paper layers or the embellishments, so I added mostly the die cuts   – one more tree, this time topped with the leaves and apples

and Silhouettes Etched Die with a tree  .

I also made some fussy cutting  – just love these roses from Summertime collection

and finished everything with watercolors.

Supplies used:

Summertime collection

Spellbinders Dies, Prima Marketing Flowers and Watercolors.

I also wanted to remind you about this month’s Moodboard, you can read about it here,  and to share my sample with you too

I love this color scheme as it has all of my favorite colors

I mixed the papers from different collection – Vintage Summer Basics and Crea Diem

I hope you have liked my projects for today.

Hello Maja design fans,

Happy Monday, for today’s post i made a layered monochromatic card.I so loved this soft turquoise shades,i have used papers from “Vintage spring basics” and “Vintage  summer basics”.I have used two sheets front and back and layered theme alternately. All the die cuts are also cut from pattern papers.

The flowers are handmade using foamiran sheets,i generally dont make flowers but this is super easy and look so gorgeous(isn’t it?).I have used some chipboard designs and laces amongst the layers. All the layers and die cuts are given a coat of white gesso using dry brush to give a weathered look.

I have also splattered some white paint and added few butterflies to finish off.More close ups for you..

Maja papers used: 1934 , 1934 bs , 6th of march , 6th of march bs

Happy crafting
