Good morning dear Maja Visitors, welcome to the blog today 🙂

I hope you and your loved ones are safe and your summer is going good despite the restrictions imposed on us all over the world.

Summer usually gives a great opportunity to visit our family and friends living away, but this summer is very much different due to the pandemic. Some countries closed their borders, other don’t allow to travel abroad or introduce lockdown conditions, which all makes it impossible to leave our homes. We are lucky enough to have other means of contact such as phones or the Internet, but there are other ways to show our loved ones we remember 🙂 The Miles Apart collection was intended for such occasions and today I bring you two cards that you could send out when you can’t visit:

For my cards I used the most beautiful rose papers from the collection (in my opinion, of course 🙂 ), in the rose and blue version.

As the post stamp images from the Ephemera sheet I created my own custom pieces by die-cutting the post stamp shapes and filling them with flowery patterned rectangles. Then I added some stamping:

The central elements of the cards are chipboard hearts mounted on kraft cardstock for nice contrast and placced upon beautiful guipure lace. To match these pieces with the rose paper, I added a mini roses below the hearts. For the sentiment I used the ones printed on signature strips – you know I love using those mini patterns! The blue one says “Miss You”:

The pink card follows the suit, I just changed the plaid matting paper for a striped one and used the “Thinking of you” sentiment:

I really like the way they turned out and I hope someone who’d receive such a card would definitely feel our love and bond!

Here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: dies: Joy!; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; chipboard: the MiniArt; lace: my stash.

That’s all for today, thank you for visiting and see you soon!

Congratulations

Hi everyone! I hope you all are fine. I am back with a late night card. This time I have made a frame card with the gorgeous papers from the Vintage Summer Basics Collection. The paper you can spot the best on the card is called 1933 (with flowers).

I have painted this Sitting Tilda from Magnolia with Distress Ink, reinkers and Markers, to match the papers. I think both colours and papers fit so well together.

Inside the frame I have cut out a bird house from the papersheet called 1925. The same paper I have used on the base on the card.

The text “Gratulerer” on top of the card is made from a die from Papirdesign, and means “Congratulations”.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I have painted the flowers and papers with White Gesso, to give the card a more shabby look.

Under you can see how I have put the card together, as I have first made the frame, and then fasten it to the card.

Thats all from me tonight! Stay safe!

With love,

Good morning, Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today 🙂

With all this lockdown thing, as cumbersome as it is, there is one thing positive, I think. We started to notice and appreciate many things in life we’ve so far taken for granted. Going out for dinner, attending a concert, visiting a museum or even a shopping mall – and most of all – meeting with family and friends. We’ve seemed to have forgotten how important that little everyday joys mean to us and now we value them again. I also have some dear friends that I think of more often than I used to. And therefore todya I’m bringing you a card for a friend.

For this card I used the Little Street Cafe collection – that is perfect for a garden scene too 🙂 (and one of the papers is called “Meeting friends”! 🙂 )

I layered some of the flowery patterns from the collection and mixed them with plain Monochrome sheets. My friend is a keen gardener, so I thought this stamped girl image would be perfect for her!

I made a plant using a rose heart mold and a plant pot die cut. I coloured the heart with dye ink markers and covered with glitter, then I “planted” it with a glitter cardstock strip 🙂

Then I added a stamped sentiment and some mini roses:

To finish the card I added some sequins in between the paper layers.

Here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: dies: Joy!, Crea-Lies; stamp: Arine by Lemonade; roses: Wild Orchid Crafts; sequins, bling: my stash.

I do hope my friends would like the card! What do you think?

See you soon!
