Good morning, Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today πŸ™‚

Christmas is here! πŸ™‚ This evening many people around the world will gather at their family tables to celebrate the Christmas Eve supper – something I always look forward to through the year. I love the atmosphere, the smells of delicious meals, the lights and the decor of the holidays. And today I bring you something I made to decorate my house – a hanging ornament:

Of course, I used the Happy Christmas collection πŸ™‚ I die cut the ornament shape out of various papers and glued them together into an accordion:

…but went only half way through with it:

The other half is flat and decorated with stamps, poinsettias and snowflakes:

I also attached a small pearl and a tassel at the end:

As it is double-sided, it serves many purposes: you can hang it on the Christmas tree as a bauble or somewhere else in the house as a decor piece. And I really like how the accordion form showcases various paper patterns πŸ™‚

Here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: dies: Spellbinders, Sizzix; stamps: Agateria; tassel: Marianne Design; pearls: my stash.

That’s my last post this year, so let me wish you a very merry and blessed Christmas, spent with loved ones, and all the best in the new year!

See you in January! πŸ™‚

Merry Christmas

Good morning, Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today πŸ™‚

No, I’m not here to wish you a happy Christmas – not yet πŸ™‚ That’s just the title of the layout I made using our festive collection Happy Christmas:

When I saw this gingerbread cookies paper I instantly thought of this photo of my elder son from preschool, when he discovered the fun of playing with gingerbread dough (which was officially called “baking” :D) But I also wanted to showcase more beautiful patterns and motives, so I used the gingerbread paper for the middle panel that I placed against a darker star-patterned sheet. I used a signature strip at the top pf the layout and since I love the gnomes motif too I just cut it out from its original paper and added it to my page πŸ™‚

I die-cut other decorative elements from various papers, as well as the heart and star shapes from kraft cardstock and added some patterns with white gel pen to make them look like gingerbread cookies πŸ™‚

I also added some crystal stones, an art clay angel and glitter snowflakes to finish the layout. And I really like the way it turned out!

Here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: dies: Magnolia, Craft&You Design, CreaLies; border punch: Martha Stewart; angel mold: Prosvet; crystals: my stash.

That’s all for today, thank you for visiting and see you soon!

Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today πŸ™‚

Today I bring you a set of two Christmas cards in which the focus is on shaker box elements. For both cards I used Maja Design latest collection, Happy Christmas πŸ™‚

In the first card I used the top layer for a shaker box bauble to make a kind of diorama inside it, mounting particular layers of hand-cut elements.Β  I then added a cluster made with die-cut poinsettia and wintery leaves and an embossed stamped sentiment:

For the second card I used the full shaker box that I filled with sequins and closed with a paper bottom, but as I used an additional layer with snowflakes forg the frame, the finished box was quite dimensional. So I cut out a circle in the card top layer and placed the shaker inside, to lower it a bit. Thus the shaker is still quite deep, but it doesn’t interfere with the card easily going into an envelope πŸ™‚

For several years now I try to make dimensional holiday cards that still go into envelopes, and I’m really happy with the way these two turned out! I also love how beautiful the papers look, giving the cards this signature Maja vintage look πŸ™‚

Here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: dies: Craft&You Design, Magnolia; stamps, chipboard: Agateria; sequins: my stash.

Do you you shaker boxes in your projects?

See you soon!

Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today πŸ™‚

It’s here, it’s here! Maja Design latest release, the Happy Christmas collection!

The traditional mix of green, red and brown, beautiful patterns and the signature Maja vintage look πŸ™‚ I just got my DT box and couldn’t stop myself from immediately making some cards!

I chose a very simple design for my cards as I wanted to showcase the beautiful patterns of small gingerbread cookies and Christmas baubles. So I decided to put the stamped and embossed sentiments on the background paper and die cut windows in the top layers to make them visible. To this I added hand-coloured stamped images and a chipboard frame for the first card:

And for the second card I used a die-cut poinsettia:

For the bauble on this card I also used a little bit of paper piecing – can you see it? πŸ™‚

I really love how hte cards turned out dimensional and yet still easily go into envelopes, ready to be sent out πŸ™‚

And here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: stamps, chipboard, ep: Agateria; dies: Magnolia; snow balls: DP Craft.

That’s all for today, see you soon!
