Hello and a big welcome today Maja fans. Tina O with you to share a little project that I have created today for my post here. Sometimes I run late with projects and they are the days I find I am the most productive. In saying this they are also usually my most favourite projects. And this one is no exception.

This is “Once upon a time………

I have used the Celebration collection. I am so drawn to pokadots and also black. Although this isn’t a true black I still am very drawn to it. And because it is not a true black I always think it is much easier to co-ordinate a multitude of colours with it.

I have used a photo of my gorgeous daughter at her formal this year. She looked absolutely gorgeous I think but I am bias of course. A real princess. All she needed was a crown. For my project I decided to draw the colour from her dress into the layout by using browns and greens along with the black and cream from the Celebration papers. The papers I used are listed for you below.

I tore Let’s Celebrate to sit over the top of the polkadots of Let’s Party. It didn’t add any mixed media just lots of soft laces and some gorgeous flowers to do all the embellishing of this page for me. I love every now and then to keep it very simple and clean.

The chipboards have all been dressed in Black Distress Ink and then wiped over with White Gesso and a little White Liquid Pearls to give a shimmer.

I love lace and recently I attented the Brisbane Expo where I found some of the most gorgeous pieces ever. Some of them I have used here. They have been cut into sections to sit around the flower clusters and to help take away from the black of the page.

I have added many layers of lace and chipboards to keep the focus on the prettiness of my background paper.

The gorgeous flowers used here are from 49andMarket. I have used the Aloe and Sandcastle colours to help coordinate with the page.

Well that is all from me today. I hope you have enjoyed my project and your visit to our blog.

Until next time happy crafting and take care.

A very big welcome my Maja Design friends.
Tina Ollett here with you today to share a project created recently showcasing patterned papers from three gorgeous collections of Maja Designs.
It is titled “My Sunshine” and was inspired by a photo taken down at Redcliffe whilst we were making a visit to see some friends for coffee and milkshakes.

This project was originally going to be very shabby chic until I come across this photo with the rustic rocks that my daughter was sitting upon for the photo. Once I spyed these, the project automatically changed up to a rustic grungy kind of project which I totally miss doing.
Monochromes Shades of Denim – Off White

Vintage Summer Basics – 1915

Vintage Romance – Deep Love bs

I started my project off by layering papers from the Vintage Summer Basics (1915) and  Vintage Romances “Deep Love” bs . I primed my background to fix it. Dusty Attic Texture paste was used throught the Threaded Bead Stencil to create a little texture going across my page following the stripes from the papers that I used.

I used some Rust Paste over my chipboards along with acrylic paints and art stones.
I love how the large seashell as seen above here turned out. It was dressed similarly to the leaves but less emphasis on the browns. They were placed on lastly to highlight the blue and orange tints.

I also coloured some of my pretty florals with acrylic paints as you can see above .
And a yummy view of the Swirly Frame that I used on this project.
Thank you for making the visit here today.
Until next time take care and happy crafting.
Hugs Teen xo

Hello and welcome Maja fans. It is Tina with you today to share my next Maja project with you.
As you are all aware I am sure, I love anything to do with the beach. My heart skips a beat when I think sunshine and sand. And yesterday while I was clearing away my desk of the Nyhavn collection from another Maja creation I came across 3 pieces that I had not noticed before. The colours of these papers instantaneously sent mind mind thinking ……. aha a beach layout that will be perfect.

This is “Sun Kissed”

And below are the 3 sheets of papers from the Nyhavn Collection that I have used to start my project.

I used Historical Atmosphere as my background piece. I then did some tearing of the Sunnyside. I have to say that this piece is just magical in my eyes. I could not go without using this piece. I adhered pieces of Sunnyside throught the centre of my layout running vertically. I then did some matting of my black and white portrait photo. These pieces of matting were distressed and sanded a little to give that worn look that you often see with beach layouts.

Once everything was glued in place including my photo, I primed the papers using some clear gesso.

I also added in some stencilling using the “Cobblestones” stencil from Dusty Attic. I then painted some white gesso over my papers to lighten certain areas and to highlight others. I then went on to give my page more colours using some Dusty Attic Acrylic paints in Bisque and Faded Denim.

I then went on to change up the colours of my 49andMarket flowers from older collections to co-ordinate with my page. Some of these flowers were a bluebell colour which looked beautiful with the faded denim over the top. I also added in some beautiful Dusty Attic chipboard frames and flourishes and an anchor to help embellish my page.

And lastly I adhered all my coloured embellishments along with some extra seashells found at our last trip to the beach. some of these were quite bulky so I had to cut the backs away to fit them where they needed to sit.

Well that is all from me today. Thank you for taking the time to visit and have a look at my project.

Until next time happy crafting.

Hugs

Happy Sunday Maja Fans.

Tina with you today to share my latest project using the gorgeous new release collection of “Celebration”. I again used more photos from my wedding day. The photos of my two eldest children and my hubby is a truly special moment. and I love the naturalness of it all. As always when photographing children they don’t always do what you want and in these photos you can see that that  is exactly what happened, but I think that is what makes them extra special photos.

“IV”

The first gorgeous piece from Celebration that I used is called “Anniversary”, a totally stunning piece I really couldn’t got past using this, but I decided to also use the the bs of this piece as it is equally gorgeous. I tore my piece turned the bottom over and then went to work embellishing my page.

I wanted to keep my layout stylish and a little elegant. And since our photos were taken out in the garden I decided to add some garden elements to my layout. For example the chipboard birdbath and old shabby window shutters and of course lots and lots of beautiful florals.

Above you can see the Dusty Attic chipboards that I used and the textures and colours which I have dressed my embellishments in. I wanted to keep the colours quite neutral and soft.

I decided to use two photos from the shoot both where my son was obviously not concentrating on the camera. Just too cute I reckon !! I also cut a clock from the Maja Designs Vintage Summer collection and added it to my layout atop of the smaller lacey heart photo frame and I added the Roman Numerals “IV” for the 4 of us. Thought it was quite fitting for my layout.

And to keep with the elegance of the page I have coloured some of my chipboards and flowers and leaves with a gold in the colour of Miner Miner from Shimmerz Paints. It is a stunning way to highlight pieces on a layout. I have also added in some cutouts of the flowers from a second piece of Anniversary and tucked them in and around the flowers clusters. You can never have too many flowers I think.

That is all from me today. I hope your weekend has been kind to you and you have had some time for crafting.

Until next time take care, hugs………..

Welcome and a very happy New Year to you. Tina with you today to share my project for January.

This layout was inspired by the Dusty Attic Moodboard for the month. I saw it and immediately thought Maja and stylish elegance. And what better way to display all of these than with a wedding photo. A very special photo of my little family from quite a few years ago. But this photo I feel captures all that our day was…..pure happiness and love.

I hope you enjoy this!

“Love”

Every now and then I come across a patterned paper that really projects gorgeousness in itself. And this piece I selected from the Walking in the forest collection is one of those that I am talking of. It was really all I needed to create this project with …….and em

Flannel Shirt bs

538-FlanellskjortaW-bs

This piece which I find just gorgeous with the suttle foliage at the side I find really elegant. My background was stencilled with some hearts and accentuated using paints and texture paste. I also added a very small amount of stamping.

You can see above the minty colour paint I used to help the photo pop from the page.

I did some layering of chipboards to create a base for my photo to sit upon. I then clustered flowers and lace leaves around this to bring the photo to attention.

Here you can see more layering upon the gorgeous piece of Flannel Shirt bs.

And a few more photos from different views…………..

Above you can see the background hearts which have been dressed and heat set to create dimension.

Here you can see the gorgeous 49andMarket flowers. These have been layered and clustered around the chipboards.

I have also added some hand dyed soft leaf lace to help soften my project.

Well that is all from me today. I hope you have enjoyed your visit. See you again next time and happy scrapping.
