Hello and welcome Maja Design friends.

Tina Ollett with you today to share my newest layout “Perfect Beauty”.

Last year was a huge year for my eldest daughter having graduated from high school. Of course there was the formal and semi formal and graduation dinners and lots of differing ceremonies to celebrate many milestones of her schooling life. And as always, I was there at the ready with my camera to capture all of these moments.

Sometimes for me, it is easier behind the camera, because I can hide my emotions of joy of pride and of just being her mum. I am, as I am of all my children so very proud. So you can imagine how I felt when I saw this photo after taking so many many photos in only a short space of time. Because of course we were running late !

So with you I will share now all the details of this project.

For my project I used a combination of different collections. My background piece “Sunbleached” was from Denim and Friends.

And my second piece from the Summertime collection.  This is titled “Wind in my hair”. Is was so easy to combine both pieces for this project. Looking closely at the Sunbleach page you will see snippets of the vintage orange with compliments it very easily. And because the quality of these papers are amazing I was able to do some creasing of “Wind in my hair” by spritzing the paper with water and manipulating it. I then dried the paper off. Did a little sanding, tearing and distressing. I then adhered the two pieces together.

With my remaining papers ( I actually used two sheets of each) I did more tearing and made layers to sit under my photo. I also matted my photo. I have embellished my page with lots of Dusty Attic chipboards that were dressed in acrylic paints and distress inks.

Above you can see the layers of papers intertwined with chipboards and flowers and lace and also a little Cheesecloth.

My flowers used were from 49andMarket. They were all coloured with acrylic paints to compliment my layout.

Here you can see the creases made on my background paper. I have also done some stamping and painting of my background.

Lots of layers made with the papers which you can see above. I love to tear these papers and use both a and b sides. I have tucked in lots of pieces of lace cut into smaller pieces to give some height to my layout.

Well that is all from me tonight. I do hope you have enjoyed my post here today. Thank you for popping by.

Until next time take care and happy scrapping.

Welcome and hello Maja Design friends. Tina Ollett here with you today to share a Christmas creation using not the new release collection but the Denim and Friends Collection. Well it is that time of the year when I get behind on absolutely everything including my Design Team work. And if I can use the quote “to kill two birds with one stone” that is exactly what I have done to ease my workload for this week. I have combined my Design Team work for Maja with the Dusty Attic Design Team work and used their Moodboard for this month. And to do this I had to use a different collection. So therefore the use of Denim and Friends.

Streetwear

Streetwear b side

My layout started with just three pieces of Streetwear from the Denim and Friends collection. I used the teal green for the base and tore the second piece using the opposite side with stars. I simply tore a section top and bottom and then roll sections after distressing and sanding my papers.

Once my background was finished I then used the leftover papers to create some matting base for my 4 x 6 portrait black and white photo. You can see above the layers of Streetwear used to do this above.

I also added in a little stamping on my project and some textures with Sand Texture paste through a stencil and also splatters of acrylic white paint.

I used distress inks mixed with gesso to colour my flowers and also some of the Dusty Attic chipboards that I selected to use for this project.

I decided at the very end of my project to add in some gorgeous laces. It just seemed a little empty without pops of white. I also added in a little distressed muslin.

Well that is all from me today. I do hope you enjoyed my post. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very safe and merry Christmas. I hope Christmas brings all the special things your heart desires.

Until next year take care.

Hello and welcome Maja fans. Tina Ollett with you today to share a project created using the gorgeous collection of Vintage Autumn Basics. I hope you enjoy this layout which I have titled

“Memories are timeless treasures of the heart”.

I decided to go with the colours of the clothes my little girl was wearing in the photo. She had camoflague shorts on so the greens in this were quite dark. To highlight this green I decided to lighten the papers by distressing and sanding all of the layers that I used for this project. I have listed the papers that I have used to do this project below.

The addition of Dusty Attic chipboards were added in to help frame the photo. And adding this to the photo prompted me to wrap some garden vines and frames around the chipboards.

I have added in some moss and art stones. Here you can see the lovely distressed layers.

I have also made some resin moulds of the bird and Window and Shutters. They are so cute. The bird above and the windows and shutters below.

Some more close-ups for you.

Thanks for popping by today. I will see you back here next month. Until then take care and happy scrapping.

Hello and welcome Maja Design friends.

Tina Ollett with you today to share my next project with you.

This has been titled “Happiness blooms from within……”

I have kept my project for today very simple and very shabby. I did lots of layering of the beautiful papers from may all time favourite collection Vintage Romance. The papers from this collection are listed below for you.

I have also added in a sheet of the gorgeous Lavendar Rose to compliment my layout from the Monochromes shades of Celebration. This was used to mat my photo and some of the other layers to help them pop a little. It is a very stunning colour.

I decided to go with a black and white photo to help keep the layout light. I also decided to use some cute paper clay moulds.

And as always with my layouts I have added layers of Dusty Attic chipboards to my layers of Maja Design papers. I have used Distress Inks to colour my chipboards along with splashes of gesso to lighten sections of the boards.

I have added in lots of beautiful 49andMarket flowers. These too have been added in layers amongst the papers and chipboards.

Here you can see all the layers of the torn Maja Design papers.

Here you can see I have added in lines of gorgeous lace. This has been cut to sit back to back and over the top of each other and also over the layers of my torn papers. I added in sections of white muslin that has been distressed.

Well that is all from me today. I do hope you have enjoyed my post today. Until next time take care and happy crafting.

Good day and welcome to the Maja Designs blog.

Tina Ollett with you today to share my project for August. This project “II” was created using papers from the gorgeous Celebration collection in shades of pinks and browns. I wanted to make something very pretty using these cute photos of my youngest and our boy Rafael. They are especially good friends and are often found rolling around out on the grass together in the late afternoons when the sun has gone down. I captured these photos not so long ago and decided to use 3 of them in a series rather than just one photo like I usually do.

I have used pieces Jubilee back and front by tearing sections and layering them top and bottom of the layout over the top of To the party. I kept this layout very clean and have only used medias on the Dusty Attic chipboards . The photos I chose were changed to sepia colours and cut down and laid inside the doily chipboards to help highlight and frame the photos.

To help embellish my layout I have used some coordinating Lilac flowers from 49andMarket.

I popped a little lace in between layers of the papers and also I have used some tea stained muslin to help keep my layout soft and shabby.

Some of the chipboards below have been spritzed with glimmermist and then highlighted with a little white gesso.

I have also added in some pretty pearls to help compliment my layout.

Papers used from the Maja Design “Celebration” collection are below. Just gorgeous aren’t they!?

Welll that is all from me today. I do hope you enjoyed my post today. Until next time happy scrapping and take care.
