Hello there, Maja Fans, welcome to our blog 🙂

It’s Maja here and yes, I finally bring you Christmas cards! 🙂 With Christmas less than two weeks away I’m getting into the holiday mood and preparing to send out my Christmas cards. Here are the cards I made with our latest beautiful collection, Home for the Holidays:

mdmer

As you can see, I used the Santa Clause images and poinsettias as main motives for both cards, yet they do differ in the details.

The white poinsettia card features the Santa image from the Vintage Frost Basics die cuts sheet:

mdmer1

I chose the ecru-white-gold-silver palette: I layered pieces of paper and covered the background with a piece of cheesecloth. Then I tucked some foam glitter stars I bought for my kids to play with 😉 and golden sequins under the layered image:

mdmer2

The poinsettia isn’t the scrapbooking stuff either 😉 I just dismantled a small poisettias bouquet I bought from a home decor shop. I removed the plastic stem and flower centre and replaced it with a pearl brad. Under the poinsettia I put die-cut mistletoe twigs, a snowflake charm and some beautiful golden ribbon and guipure lace:

mdmer3

The other card features some more bright colours as I chose the “red” Santa tag from the die cuts sheet for the Home for the Holidays collection and added a red poinsettia:

mdmer4

For the background I used a piece of the A Real Fellow paper with the postcard print. Then I added some felt and chipboard snowflakes, the poststamp image, golden metallic ribbon and sequins. I tied a piece of baker’s twine on the image tag and added white pompoms 🙂

mdmer5

I decorated the poinsettia with frosty berries, crystal drops and “furry” twine. Then I added some liquid pearls imitating snow to finish my design:

mdmer6

I really like how the cards turned out: vintage and festive, just as I wanted 🙂

Supplies:

Maja Design papers: Home for the Holidays: Together, Together bs, A Real Fellow, Die Cuts; Vintage Frost Basics: Die Cuts. Other: chipboard: Scrapiniec, Wycinanka; twine: Prima, Divine Twine; glitter, liquid pearls: Ranger; crystal drops: The ScrapBerry’s; cheesecloth, poinsettias, ribbon, pompoms, sequins: my stash.

Have you sent your Christmas cards yet? 🙂

Good Morning Everyone <3

It’s Sunday, and it is my turn to inspire you with a project created with the new collections, Home for the Holidays <3

Home-for-the-holidays-P

I have collected the blue sheets from the collection and made one wintry project in blue, white and silver.

I am very fond of the new collection to Maja Design and I have been inspired by the deer that can be found on some of the sheets. When I came across a silver deer in a store, I new that the deer was just perfect for the new collection. The entire project is designed, so I can use the deer in silver.

Next to the deer I have three packages. These packages I have covered with True Snow and Glitter. Round them I have a bow in silver with a white button on top.

The flowers I have put together is one set of dies from Creative Expressions called Poinsettia.

On all the flowers I have a thin layer of true snow and glitter. Both sides of the box are decorate the same.

In between the flowers I have used pine needles, frozen berries, Christmas balls and apples in silver.

On the box I’ve spent a lot of True Snow and glitter.

Silver colors runs through the whole box, with derr on the top, silver thread on the presents and the buttons to the four silver feet the box stands on.

This is the last box I’m making to you as an inspiration for you this year <3

Nesxt time I will tell you abute a speciall project that means a lot to me and many other people <3

Hello friends!

I’m in today to share a Christmas project for Maja Design. I’m not much for Christmas papers as you would know by now, but their “Home for the Holidays” collection is absolutely delightful! For this month of December, I will be creating with this collection just to get into the festive cheer.

This is the tag I’ve made:

IMG_0423

I’ve done some layering of papers from the 6×6 paper pad, as well as with the die cut tags and postal stamps. Again, my background work was simple – with some festive words stenciled with modeling paste and colored over with a matching blue in watercolor and paint.

Some close-ups:

IMG_0426

A chipboard ornament which I colored with glitter ink and stacked on top of a die cut snowflake from one of the more neutral colored papers from the paper pad. I chose red to highlight the color in the bottom-most piece of patterned paper and to use it as an accent color that really popped.

IMG_0427

Layering of the tags which I fussy cut out. To create the snow falling on the tags, I added generous amounts of white glitter paint and allowed it to dry.

This postage stamp really warms my heart! It reminds me of exactly what we do in cold weather with our loved ones – we cuddle!

That’s all I have for today. Have a great day ahead!
