Hello Sweeties

Today I’m up on Maja Design blog with a layout featuring the Sofiero paper collection. I chose a photo of my family: my grandmother, my father, my aunt and unfortunately I’m not sure who the other two are.

Family by Pascale B.

I primed the background with clear gesso. While it was drying, I cut a few papers from the Vintage Romance 6×6 pad that I glued on the background. Then I added a thin layer of white gesso.

I added a design with a stencil and different pastes: clear crackle, white crackle, and white stone. When dry, I added some color with Iris Potion Sparks paint that I watered down.

I die-cut some leaves in a watercolor paper. I colored the vine with Raven Sparks and the leaves with Twinkling H2Os. Then I covered them with the Antique Brillance Amethyst Magic. I added some wax on the background too to add a vintage look.

I colored some flowers with a spray made of Primary Element and water. Before gluing all the embellishments, I added some random stamping with an Archival ink and with the Raven Sparks. I added a little bird house that I colored with the wax too.

To finish the layout I added some micro beads.

Good morning, Maja Friends, welcoem to the blog today 🙂

Have you seen the refreshed edition of the Sofiero collection that has been released lately? When I got the news abotu it I was very excited, firstly because when I began designing for Maja Design the collection was already retired, and secondly, because of the new addition, the Monochrome papers! This is such a good idea, no more painful decisions about which beautiful papers hide in the background! 🙂 And as this is a special release, I decided to make a special layout about a certain lady in red. Be careful, huge amount of cuteness ahead!

I layered contrasting designs in the background and separated them with pom pom trim and lace:

I cut out a heart shape and made an initial plaque, then I added a resin angel wing:

I built the flowers cluster between the photos and placed the title in the decorative frame:

I also added some die-cut leaves to decorate the photo:

I decorate the other photo with a sentiment I cut out from one of the signature strips:

Adding bling and accenting details with glitter was a finishing touch. I really like the way the layout turned out, the beautiful pastel papers making the photos stand out! And look at this yummy dimension 🙂

And here’s what I used for the layout:

The Sofiero papers:

Other: dies: Spellbinders, Prima, Magnolia; flowers: Prima, Blue Fern Studios; chipboard: Tattered Angels; bling, trim, lace: my stash.

Thank you for visiting the blog today, and see you later!

The card is for a boy. The colours from the newest collections fit perfectly here cause it was needed to use green colour. I added many layers, flowers and chipboard.

Dear Maja fans,

It’s time for a new collection, and this time we have decided to reprint an old favorite – Sofiero. This time with a completely new die cut sheet. In addition to this we have also released a completely new thing for Maja – Monochromes, coordinated single colored paper, this time perfectly matched to Sofiero’s colors.

Sofiero-L Mono-Sofiero-L

Our monochrome papers are printed single color papers with one shade on each side, one lighter and one darker. They have a white core which makes them exquisite to emboss, sand or tear for great effect on any craft project. They come in the same thick quality as all MajaDesign papers.

This collection is in the size 12×12 and consist of twelve different shades (two on each sheet), all a perfect match for the Sofiero collection.

You wanna try it out?? 🙂
Please leave a comment below, like/follow us at this blog/Facebook/Instagram/Pinterest and share this post – and you have the chance to win BOTH these collections..!

We will reveal the lucky winner, here at the blog, on Monday the 6th of March.

Hi All! It’s Gabrielle here with you today!  It’s the beginning of a new year, and I’m thinking it’s fun to reflect over past years on some of my favorites of projects I’ve created with Maja Design papers.  One of my favorite things about Maja Design papers is the beautiful images you can use for fussy cutting and embellishing your projects.  For the above layout I used a combination of papers from the Sofiero collection and from the Vintage Autumn Basics collections.  The clocks are clearly one of my go to favorite items to use on a scrap page, as are the gorgeous roses found in the Vintage Autumn Basics papers!

Another thing I particularly love about Maja Design Papers is their wonderful quality and the strength of the papers.  They allow you to play with and manipulate the papers with a little bit of water without falling apart on you.  For the page above I cut little swags of one of the papers in the Ska Vi Ta En Fika collection papers and created a draping effect by making little folds/pleats in the paper.

Tempus Fugit

And as much as I love to create feminine pages with Maja papers, Masculine pages come together just as easily since there are so many wonderful papers and images in the papers to choose from in each collection!

Tiny Miracle

And don’t get me started on all the sweet baby pic’s you can scrap using these gorgeous papers! Above is a layout I got to make using a baby pic from my friend Jennifer who was kind enough to let me scrap her sweet baby boy….

Sweet Dreams_GabriellePollacco

You can scrap feminine baby pics as well using the pretty soft pinks in the beautiful papers….here I used the lovely Vintage Baby collection papers to scrap this sweet pic of one of my little great nieces.

Romance

Did anyone say weddings?  Of course these papers work beautifully for romantic/wedding photos!  This was a page I designed in the first year I began on the Maja design team…..good times!

The wedding pages you can create with the different collections are endless! Here I used the Nyhavn collection to scrap this beautiful photo of my niece and her husband.  This collection worked so well for their photo as their wedding had a nautical theme.

Honestly, it was so hard to pick just a few favorites I’ve made over the years.  Every time I hear that Marie Jensen is at the drawing board creating another lovely collection, I’m excited and and so happy, looking forward to seeing what new designs and lovely images I will have to work with, whether it be on my scrapbook pages, mixed media art or OTP projects!  If I had to pick a favorite collection? Lets see…..Vintage Autumn Basics,….wait a sec, nope, Enjoying the Outdoors, oh no, wait! Walking in the Forest…..**sigh** way to hard to pic just one! 🙂
