Morning Maja lovelies! It’s Andrea here with you today, bringing on some, hmm…CAS cards. Now mind you, these are not true CAS (Clean and Simple), though for me, they are quite toned down. I went to a ‘Stamp Camp’ the other day and I was so impressed with the cards we made and most of them were just straight-forward, easy designs, but effective. That’s the trick! Here’s what I mean: Luke145M I used just one sheet of the West Coast from Maja’s Life by the Sea collection. I added a cork frame dotted with liquid pearls and a bright red polka dotted bow/flower embellishment. Okay, now I start adding more stuff:

WonderfulMarvelousMVintage Summer Basics collection is highlighted here, I added a heart die along with some leafy sprig dies. I couldn’t leave well enough alone, so I added some liquid pearls. Then I decided to sew the perimeter. Still reasonably low-key, according to my standards. Here’s one that’s {gasp!} flat:

BestMD I am just in love with the Sofiero papers, I’m hoping that Marie will bring them back someday {wink, wink}. I used the back of the description at the bottom of the page for the floral trim pieces and then added a lacey border trim. More liquid pearls to add just a little sparkle… And speaking of more sparkle:

SmittenMThis final card showcases the Walking in the Forest line of papers. This card is really very simple, to make, being that the flower/feather embellishment is one piece. The only other details I added were the liquid pearls and the leafy die cuts. I did also lightly sponge the edges and added the “Smitten” sentiment, which is courtesy of Verve.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day! Andrea-sign

Simple Pleasures resized

Hi everyone, Gabrielle here with you today to share a layout I made using lots of handmade blooms I made from Maja Design papers.  Today I wanted to celebrate the everyday simple pleasures, like a little bouquet of beautiful smelling flowers/like a few snippits of Lavender.  I echoed the title in my photo by using my photo editing software to add some words like ‘simple pleasures’ and ‘sweet Lavender’ to my photo with some script text.  I used the Spellbinders ‘Rose Creations’ dies to make my blooms and pulled together a bunch of papers from the maja collections in greens and plummy/pinks.

I chose papers that did not have a lot of patterns on them to keep an even hue to the floral designs. To make the blooms I lightly moistened the die cut petals with some water and just curled the edges of the petals out to make my rosettes.

Another design feature I added to my page is thes layered stitched circles.  I chose 3 patterned papers that I thought looked pretty together and then cut out 3 different sized circles.  I inkedthe edges with some soft brown chalk ink and machine stitched to finish.  I also added some texture to the background paper using the Rings & Puddles  Memory Box stencil with texture paste.

Here you can see the combined cut circle and floral embellishments working together.  I added some Ingvild Bolme resin butterflies to build up the shabby-chic look of the page as well as some Tresors de Luxe lace.  I also added some small ‘bud’ clusters in that I plucked off some old silk flowers I was tossing out, they were the exact color match to my handmade blooms.

Maja Design Papers used for this project:  Vintage Autumn Basics (X-bs, Heritage-bs), Sofiero (Princess Margareta’s Garden-bs), Vintage Summer Basics (1920, 1923, 1933) Vintage Spring Basics (7th of May-bs, 10th of March-bs), Life in the Country (Summer Fields-bs, Sowing Seeds-bs).

I hope you enjoyed my project today and hope I inspired you to try scrapping everyday little things that bring you joy!

Hi everyone!
Nadia back again today sharing another pink layout.
This time I used the GORGEOUS Sofiero collection
Sofiero-P
“Cherish”
My base paper is “Enjoying The Lovely Fragrance” and the pieces of paper behind my picture are once again left overs from other projects. I love these papers and do not waste one little bit.
I used a new Prima mask and embossing paste to create the writing on the paper.

I then layered my papers, flowers and other embellishments behind my picture and used some pink mists to add some colour.

All the flowers  I used here are from Manor House Creations.

Materials List
Paper: Maja Design Sofiero collection – “Enjoying The Lovely Fragrance”, off cuts
Flowers: Manor House Creations- Mayglo Pink, Country Roses Pink

Hello and a warm welcome to you all . Today on the Maja Design Blog I am showcasing a little bag containing some tags with some of my very fave stamps /quotes.  When I began scrapbooking back in 2003 , I loved creating Off the Page projects.  I often open them now and enjoy looking at my style and techniques back then.               ‘ MY  BAG OF JEWELS ‘

Bag and tags by Heather Jacob     I created the bag with The beautiful romantic Sofiero Collection and tied it with soft pink ribbon . I added a resin rose with some diecut leaves and foliage stretching across the top like a sprig of spring blooms.Bag plus tags by heather jacob   When I saw this magnificent Sofiero collection, I just had to create a romantic little bag full of affirmations about Art and life.Heather Jacob    When I tenderly hold this little bag I can feel the essence of nature flowing through my hands into my soul. The blooms reflected in the papers are so romantic and delicate, so Soft  and velvety and I can almost smell the fragrance of the roses and blossoms . I imagine myself strolling down a garden path discovering a magnificent secret garden full of color and exquisite creations, rose petals and pear blossoms, all swaying happily in the sunshine  . Pinks and soft mauve and blue are my very favourite flowers to grow in my garden and in the spring they all pop their little faces toward the sunshine and gentle light . Perfectly glorious .May Pocket 4   Nature to me is perfect ART and so many delicate details of perfection are all imitated in these glorious papers. To me Marie does an amazing job of capturing the very essence of nature. From the colors, the shapes and the subtle touches in the background of these papers, I can see and feel the captivating beauty. Heather Jacob

Heather Jacob   AND Finally here is a closeup image of my tags … when creating these little bags/pockets you may add as many tags as you wish . I begin with a foundation of white cardstock, choose what size I want to work with,( remembering they must fit into the bag when closed !!! a mistake easily made )………….. then attach strips of paper along one side and on the back of the tag  …….. and there you have it … A BAG OF JEWELS !!!!!!

I call these little tags ‘Jewels’, because to me nature , words and art are all jewels ……  Maja Design collection used ……. Romantic Sofiero collection, Royal Summer collection, Enjoying the lovely Fragrance, Strolling down the rose Path , A romantic picnic in the Park.    Until next time happy scrapping everyone x.Heather-sign

For the Love of Pearls

Morning Maja lovelies! It’s Andrea here with you today, bringing you some cards made with one of my most favorite Maja Design paper accoutrements…pearls! I simply love the elegant look of pearls and in contrast, you can soften and feminize a grungy, shabby card with delicate pearls. Maja Design papers are so delicate themselves so when you add pearls, you just up the elegance factor. This first card features the Sofiero collection (I tend to hoard these papers as they are no longer available {insert sad face here}):

PosyThanksMThis next card uses both Walking in the Forest and Vintage Autumn Basics. I love how I can mix collections of paper and they all coordinate beautifully:

BirthdayMMy last card was kind of an experiment, or a ‘pearl of wisdom’ if you will {insert wink here}. I had a doily, wanted to use a doily, didn’t want to use a doily AGAIN, so I settled for laying down the doily, inking it up with some Walnut Stain distress ink with a dauber over some Ska vi ta en fika paper and then removing the doily and….voila! The look without the paper! I then stamped my Verve sentiment in the middle and adorned the perimeter with strips of Zva Creative pearls.

LovenLifeMThanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me, hope the rest of it is wonderfully creative! …And don’t forget to bring out those pearls!
