Good morning, dear Maja friends!

I’m so happy to welcome you again as a Maja Design Team member! It truly feels like a family, here and it’s an honour and privilege to be able to inspire you one more term!

A new year marks a new beginning, a fresh start – and so I thought a set of welcome baby cards would be a perfect fit for the first post in the new year 🙂 And here they are: for a girl and boy:

I used sweet pastels and delicate design of the Vintage Baby collection.

mdwelb2

Both cards have the same design: I layered square pieces of papers as the background for a die cut cute giraffe put together from pieces of various papers. I must admit I had great fun with putting those tiny bits together 🙂

mdwelb3

I also added pieces of lace and velvet ribbon and balloons cut out from one of the papers, as well as liquid pearls drops to give the background some texture:

The cards are quite dimensional, so I also assembled boxes for them, each decorated with washi tape:

Ande here’s the list of my supplies:

Maja Design papers:

Other: dies: Marianne Design, APS Craft; stamp: Lemonade, brads: Dovecraft; crystal drops: Marianne Design; lace, ribbon: my stash.

I wish you a happy and creative 2018! And I do hope you’d come and visit our blog often to find a lot of inspiration 🙂

Hello, today I am here to share with you a LO I did, using photos, of some of my favorite plants, I use in my garden. The color of our home is in the rust tones, so that is why I go with the rusty orange tones with purples. Last week we just finished putting the garden to rest for the winter, so now I guess, I will be spending a lot more time Scrapbooking….

Chipboard used is from Dusty Attic

Shows distressed paper layers, that I inked the edges. I also did some hand stitching. On the film strip I used Dusty Attic rusting powder (this is pretty close to the color of our home). I first painted the leafy scroll with clear crackle, then played with LuminArt H2O’s to add the color. The tiny roses are I am Roses….

The first,2nd, plus the 5th photo used in the film strip are of ,Petunia Autumn Mystery. It is a new plant out for 2015,& I love how every flower is different on this plant going from the purple to orange tones.

I also use lots of purple fountain grass, I love it when the sun is behind it, & how it moves with a breeze. Another fav is Coleus Sedona, because of the rust color that has a purple hue in it.

With having the garden at rest, I also spent many hours on planning the garden for 2016, & I am looking forward to the changes that I have made.

Here are a couple Baby cards I made using the Vintage Baby Collection….

My last post I did a photo tut on the easel card. I scanned the chipboard used on both cards, printed it on regular paper, attached that to the Maja papers, using a non permanent, sticky tape. I then cut out the pieces, inked the edges & glued them onto the chipboard.

Hello wonderful Maja Design fans!

I’m in today after a nice family holiday to share a card I made using two seemingly different collections: Crea Diem and Vintage Baby.

Screen Shot 2015-05-14 at 5.17.27 pm

The colors in Crea Diem are quite muted, and complements the tones in Vintage Baby. The designs are also more flourished, so for those who prefer a different kind of background for their baby cards, it is a good alternative. Here, I used some of the neutral grey tones and layered my cut outs from Vintage Baby on top to get a card that is both classic and baby-ish at the same time.

The grey toned paper layers I used didn’t have the black border on all sides, so it was just a matter of inking the edges with black ink to achieve the same effect.

Some close-ups:

A simple background of mists and stenciled texture paste over my layers of papers, plus my must-have floral cluster. Some stamping with a vine stamp as well to create the effect of spreading leaves and direction. I had also done some stamping on my cut-out from Vintage Baby before layering the beautifully drawn image on it.

I like to add chipboard to my projects because it’s additional dimension and texture, and breaks up the monotony of just papers alone. On this piece, I have a few different layers of tones of pink and lilac to make it complement the papers.

And that’s all for now, thanks for dropping by!

Good morning Maja friends! It’s Heidi here today sharing a baby card with you.

As you may know Maja Design has released a new collection called “Vintage Baby”. I’m totally in love!!! The papers are so adorable!! Today I have used some of the blue papers to make a card for a newborn baby; a little prince.

IMG_0289-001

Together with the papers from “Vintage Baby”collection I have used a doily, cheese cloth, tulle, lace, manila tags and flowers.

I have sewn zigzag stitch around the edges of the papers with a sewing machine and I have added some white Gesso.

Crafting has always been a passion of mine, and since I discovered the amazing world of papercraft years ago I have been completely addicted to it. I love the shabby chic- and vintage style and most of my projects are characterized by the use of vintage photos, lace, flowers and romantic details

Hi everyone. I hope you are enjoying your week thus far. Things have been busier than usual around our household lately, with lots of new happenings on the horizon. I can’t wait until things are a bit settled so that I can share all that has been going on with you.

As you may know, we have also been madly renovating for a while now, and the latest room to get a make-over is my old scrapbook room. Sadly, it will no longer be a crafty space, as it’s destined for new adventures…As a result, all of my scrappy supplies have been boxed up (for the time being), aside from my lovely Maja papers and a few little bits that I’ve managed to keep in my crafty cart.

It has been such a challenge not having all of my crafty bits within reach. You see, I am not a very decisive crafter, and it was very hard to decide what limited supplies to keep unpacked. So while it took some adjusting to, but I am finding that having a limited supply of products to create with is actually helping speed up my creative process.

Anywho, I am so very excited to be sharing my latest Maja creation with you all, as it’s the first time I’ve been able to craft, albeit on a very, very small scale.

girl 1

Today’s duo is a little set consisting of a card and a mini envelope using items I had on hand, and some beautiful Maja Design products. I am so happy with these colors and how bright and lively they are. It’s rare to see such vibrant colors for baby cards, so I toned them down a little by introducing soft pinks and lots of cream into the mix.

girl 2

To start, I used a WPlus9 Vintage Envelope Die to cut the little pocket. I used a pretty patterned paper, which I fussy cut, and added to the front of the envelope. Beside that, I added an old sticker that has been sitting in a pile of my Maja paper for a long, long time…

I had some Papertrey Ink stamps in my little cart, so I decided to use them on this project as well. I stamped the little hearts and the “girl” sentiment to add to the sticker. I also happened to have some twine and pre-dyed crinkled ribbon, which matched perfectly, so I added them too.

girl 3

I decorated the back of the envelope as well, with all of the same elements. I just adore the phrase about little girls, don’t you?

baby 1

For this little card, I used the pretty Vintage Spring Basics collection (3rd of March) and Vintage Summer Basics collection (1912).

baby 2

I used a few more stickers, along with more crinkled ribbon, and a punched border at the bottom.

baby 3

Supplies: Maja Design paper (Vintage Spring Basics collection (3rd of March) and Vintage Summer Basics collection (1912)), Papertrey Ink Stamps (Sweet Baby), WPlus9 Die (Vintage Envelope), Papertrey Ink Dye Ink (Melon Berry, Berry Sorbet), EK Success Punch (Abstract Flower), Stickers, crinkled ribbon and buttons from my stash.

I just adore how simple both of these cards are, and despite the bold colors, they both still look very soft and sweet.

Wishing you all a sugar-and-spice kind of day,

Ivana-sign
