Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today πŸ™‚

The weather has been quite unsteady recently, with cold wind, freezing rain and snow mixed with beautiful sunshine, which is rather typical for this time of the year in Poland πŸ™‚ And so it happens that I’m sharing a winter-time layout on a beautiful spring day! But even though I used a photo taken during Christmas and a winter collection, Holiday in the Alps, with Maja papers characteristic versatility it’s all universal.

I first applied some handwriting pattern with a stencil and gold pearl paste upon the background Monochrome paper and then added a layered cluster of paper pieces and hand-made tags to mat the photo:

I added some flowers in between the layers and some epoxy stickers that perfectly match the stencil paste. Then I arranged the title with alpha stickers mounted on foam:

I completed the page with some metal and art clay elements and sequins for a bit of subtle glam:

I often use flowers in boy layouts and so I did here and I think it still looks pretty masculine πŸ™‚ What do you think?

Here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: stencil: Agateria; paste: Stamperia; flowers: Blue Fern Studios, Wild Orchid Crafts; metal pieces: Mitform; stickers: October Afternoon, Heidi Swapp; sequins: DpCraft.

That’s all for today, have a nice weekend and stay safe!

For a Boy, a Teenager, a Man

Good morning Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today πŸ™‚

By common opinion among cardmakers, masculine cards are rather difficult to make. Would you agree? Despite being the only woman in our home, I do struggle when I have to make a card for a man. So once I got into “that” mood, I decided to take advantage of that unexpected mojo and make three birthday cards for three age groups: a baby boy, a teenager and a grown-up man:

For the boy card I used the papers from the Miles Apart collection as the pastel background to a hand-coloured stamped image. I also added a star cut out from one of the mini pad sheets, a plaid ribbon bow, some buttons and a stamed and embossed sentiment circle:

In the card for a teenager I featured the Denim&Friends papers, with a skater image decorated with a metal star charm and a mini flag cut out from a signature strip. I die-cut the sentiment from metallic silver sheet and matted it with a dark navy blue piece to make the whole sentiment pop out:

The last card features the Miles Apart papers again, with a chipboard steampunk heart embossed with various eps for a more rusty look, a metal flower, screw brads and plaid ribbon. I die-cut the sentiment from glitter foam and added some paper flowers too. Can you spot the mini balloons I cut out from one of the sheets? πŸ™‚

Here’s the supply list for my cards:

Maja Design papers:

Other: flowers, chipboard heart: Prima; dies: Rosy Owl, CreaLies; metal ger: Mitform; metal flower: Craftmania; brads, ribbon: Rayher; acrylic gems: Scrapberry’s.

Do you struggle with masculine cards or do you make them with ease? πŸ™‚

See you soon!

Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today πŸ™‚

due to the world pandemic many celebrations have been cancelled or postponed. Traditionally, the First Communions month in Poland is May, but since the restrictions have gradually been lifted onyl recently, the season is only beginng now. And this year we have two kids from our family who will receive their Fisrt Communion and so I made cards form them.

I made the card for my husband’s goddaughter using the Little Street Cafe collection, from which I selected mauve purple papers for a bit of colour. I added a stamped girl image and coloured her so that she has the same dark hair as Amelia. I used a beautiful filigree chipboard host matted with gold metallic circle and a flower cluster beneath:

I completed the design with die-cut grapes and vine leaves and added some subtle shine with opalescent sequins:

I used the same card design for my husband’s nephew First Communion card:

He’s blonde, so I coloured the stamped boy image blonde too. I used the sky blue and neutral papers from the Celebration collection:

I like the way the cards turned out: simple but elegant, dimensional but still fitting into an envelope.

Here’s the list of my supplies:

Maja Design papers:

Other: stamps: Whiff of Joy; chipoard: Scrapiniec; dies: Spellbinders, CreaLies; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts.

That’s all for today, thank you for visiting and don’t forget to drop by soon for more inspiration!

Good morning, Maja Fans, welcome to the blog today πŸ™‚

I’m sure you have already seen our latest release, the Holiday In The Alps collection! 18 gorgeously vintage patterns, introducing the winter season with Christmas images and scenes of winter holidays in the Alps, feature only 3 colours, but still give rich and varied background for you winter and Christmas projects. But not only! Just take a look at my today’s layout:

Not a sign of winter, Christmas or even sports πŸ˜€ I used theme-neutral patterns to create this fun boy page with photos of my godson.

I layered three papers, tow of them hand-torn to create uneven, distressed edges and on that background I placed my photos and decorated them with flowers and metal embellishments:

I die-cut the title word in glitter foam and placed it upon a chipboard heart:

As a finishing touch I added some buttons here and there and splashed the layout with white acrylic paint.

I really like the way it turned out, light and cheerful πŸ™‚ What do you think?

Here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: die: My Favourite Things; flowers: Prima, Wild Orchid Crafts; metal embellishments: mitform; chipboard: scrap.com.pl

Are you going use this collection for Christmas/winter projects only, or do you tend to use themed collections for other occasions too?

Hugs!

Good morning, dear Maja Fans, welcome to the blog today πŸ™‚

I’m sorry to dissapoint you if you expected some good ol’ rock now – even though I love that Guns’n’Roses’ classic, this post is going to be about a true sweet child of mine πŸ˜‰

Going through some photos I took just two years ago I’ve been shocked to see how my eldest boy has changed! He’s no longer a sweet kiddo, and although he’s a sweet young man now I still miss that little boy of whom I thought “He’s so big now” while taking that photo… And to embrace the sweetness theme of the layout, I used the Denim&Girls collection to make this layout πŸ™‚

I used scraps of various papers to mat the photo and to hand-cut some tags and banners to decorate it. I added flowers, acrylic gems, sequins and clay embellishments to complete my design. The title is composed of various golden foam letters – I used up some leftovers and added visual interest to the words as well πŸ™‚

As you can see, you can make a boy page using pink papers of a girly collection too πŸ˜‰ What do you think?

Here are my supplies:

Maja Design papers:

Other: letters: American Crafts; flowers: Prima, Wild Orchid Crafts; button: Lemoncraft; sequins, gems, clay elements: my stash.

Thank you for visiting our blog today, make sure to come back for some more inspiration every day πŸ™‚
