Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today πŸ™‚

In some countries the first adult birthday comes when you turn 21, but in many, Poland including, it’s as early as 18. It’s usually an occasion to throw a big party and celebrate entering adulthood while still being entitled to behave like a teenager πŸ™‚ And it’s a great occasion to give a handmade card too, isn’t it?

I was really happy when my all-time favourite collection Denim&Friends got its girly partner πŸ™‚ I love the images sheet, the colours and patterns that refer to and complete the masculine papers. And to celebrate this new addition to the Maja paper family I decided to make the cards with these two collections. Both feature images in the centre of design and navy blue accents.

The girl’s version adds a touch of pink and a bit of glamour with crystal gems and the digits cut out from gold metallic mirror cardstock:

In the card for a boy I added some steampunk elements also die-cut from gold cardstock. Just as in the girl’s card I incorporated the “You’re a star” phrase – in the previous card it was printed in the background paper, here it’s a snippet of the signature strip:

I really like the way the cards turned out – simple but pleasant to the eye πŸ™‚ What do you think?

And here’s what I used:

Maja Desing papers:

Other: dies: Rosy Owl, Joy! Crafts; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; crystals: Prima.

And when do you celebrate the first adult birthday in your country?

Good morning, Maja Friends, welocme to the blog today πŸ™‚

May is traditionally a month of the First Communions in Poland. Every May Sunday in various churches a group of kids receive the Sacrament and then celebrate with their faimilies with festive dinner and presents. Money and jewellery are quite popular First Communion gifts and I designed exploding boxes to give them a nice packaging πŸ™‚

Here’s the girl’s version:

I decorated the box with Celebration papers:

The lid is decorated with a flower bouquet and a stamped sentiment embossed with golden ep:

When the lid is removed, the walls fall open and reveal the inside. There’s a stamped, embossed and hand-coloured image of a First Communion girl:

…a small gift pocket:

I also added a panel with a stamped poem, whilst in the centre I placed the chalice decorated with flowers:

The girl’s version is traditionally in the pink palette – I also made a boy’s version in blues:

The design is basically the same, of course the stamp is different πŸ™‚

I really like how the Celebration collection provided delicate flower patterns for the girl’s box, but also elegant flowerless motives for the boy version πŸ™‚

And how do you like the boxes?

Here’s the list of my supplies:

Maja Design papers:

Other: dies: Spellbinders, custom vine die; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; stamps: Lemonade; washi tape: Dekoracyjna TaΕ›ma; bling: Marianne Design.

I hope you enjoyed your visit to our blog, don’t forget to drop by tomorrow for more inspiration!

Have a nice day!

Good morning, Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today πŸ™‚

It always amazed me how kids can be happy about pretty much anything. But there is not greater joy than that when their dreams come true. And which little boy doesn’t dream about a bike? I was lucky enough to have captured that joy – my younger son’s first ride on a “big” bike πŸ™‚

Just look at his beaming face πŸ™‚

I didn’t actually plan to use these papers, but they happen to perfectly match the colour palette of the photo, so…yep, it’s March and I’m still using the Christmas collection πŸ˜‰ I layered pieces of papers upon a neutral cream background of papers from other collections, which I decorated with a brickwall pattern using a Prima stencil – I wanted to repeat the pavement pattern. I know, it’s not perfect, but it’s close enough. I also added some die-cut tags:

To enhance the photo’s theme, I added a chipboard bike:

…and to enhance the photo’s golden mood, I added some golden accents:

Of course, I couldn’t do without some flowers πŸ™‚

I’m so glad I managed to take this photo! Now I can cherish this sweet memory so nicely completed with these beautiful Christmas Season papers πŸ™‚

Here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: flowers, stencil: Prima; chipboard: Tim Holtz, wycinanka; button: Lemoncraft; foam word: American Crafts; twine: Divine Twine.

And that’s all for today, thank you for visiting and see you soon!

Good morning, Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today πŸ™‚

This week my elder son will ccelebrate his Confirmation. And suddenly I realised I have never made a Confirmation card before! πŸ™‚ So today I bring you two cards for this occasion, one for a girl and the other for a boy.

I kept the design pretty simple, with light background papers, delicate flower combos and filigree chipboard pieces. I decided not to use patterned papers in the background and instead added some texture with die-cut doilies.

The girl’s version features traditional pink tones:

… and the boy’s card goes with blue:

I think they turned out quite nice, delicate and fit for the occasion. And I really like the subtle look with Monochrome papers in the background, with just a hint of a pattern and still very decorative. What do you think?

And here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: dies: Prima, Cheery Lynn Designs; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; chipboard: SnipArt; acrylic stones: Prima.

That is all for today, thank you for visiting and come back tomorrow for more inspiration from my DT friends πŸ™‚

Hello there, Maja Friends, welcome to the blog todayΒ  πŸ™‚

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas time and your New Year’s Eve parties were a bang!

I’m happy to be back on the blog with the first layout this year πŸ™‚ And as I wanted to enjoy the holiday collection a little bit more than just around Christmas, I used the Christmas Season papers to make it πŸ™‚

You wouldn’t tell it’s a Christmas collection, would you? That’s what I love about Maja papers, the diversity and universatility that allow you to use themed collections whenever you want! And so I layered some papers in the background and added some squares punched out from scraps to add some pattern:

Since the time is still around the holidays and the carnival is just beginning, I wanted to add some glam and shine and therefore I opted for some gold accents: metal embellies, gold buttons, sequins and glitter:

But at the same time I wanted to make the layout boyish-harsh, so I added denim ribbon and some black stamped “handwritten” sentiments:

I made the title by combining gold foam letters with a die-cut word:

…and the title shines too πŸ˜‰

And I’m really glad it turned out light and almost clean&simple style (at least for my taste!). What do you think?

Here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: stamps: Heidi Swapp; flowers: Prima; letters: American Crafts; die: Creative Expressions; buttons, punch: Docrafts; sequins, ribbon, pearls: my stash.

Wishing you a very creative 2019! See you soon!
