Hello Sweeties

Today I’m up on Maja Design blog with a new layout. I used both the Enjoying Outdoors and the Vintage Romance collections. I chose a photo of my grandfather and his brother.

Brothers by Pascale B.

I primed the background with clear gesso. Then I added a design with a doily stencil and white gesso. When dry, I added a second design with another stencil and a metallic acrylic paint.

Then I cut the background into four pieces and glued them on another paper.

I cut a few papers from the 6×6 paper pack from both collections to add under the photo. I die cut some leaves in a watercolor paper and colored them with Glimmer Glam and acrylic paint.

I added a few flowers as well as some doily’s pieces.

Hello Sweeties

Today I’m up on Maja Design blog with a layout featuring the Sofiero paper collection. I chose a photo of my family: my grandmother, my father, my aunt and unfortunately I’m not sure who the other two are.

Family by Pascale B.

I primed the background with clear gesso. While it was drying, I cut a few papers from the Vintage Romance 6×6 pad that I glued on the background. Then I added a thin layer of white gesso.

I added a design with a stencil and different pastes: clear crackle, white crackle, and white stone. When dry, I added some color with Iris Potion Sparks paint that I watered down.

Family by Pascale B.

I die-cut some leaves in a watercolor paper. I colored the vine with Raven Sparks and the leaves with Twinkling H2Os. Then I covered them with the Antique Brillance Amethyst Magic. I added some wax on the background too to add a vintage look.

I colored some flowers with a spray made of Primary Element and water. Before gluing all the embellishments, I added some random stamping with an Archival ink and with the Raven Sparks. I added a little bird house that I colored with the wax too.

To finish the layout I added some micro beads.

Layout

Hello my friends!!!

It’s Mary here with you today sharing my latest layout using papers from the beautiful ”Vintage Romance” collection.

A mysterious layout this time that was inspired by that beautiful photo which I found on Pinterest. And, before I continue I want to give all the proper credits to the photographer.

Closer 1

For my background, I used the ”Champagne” paper and I made some layers behind my photo with the ”Love Poetry” and the ”Ephemera cards” papers.

Closer 2

I primed the background with clear gesso and when it was dried, I added some texture with modeling paste and a stencil. Then, I used Lindy’s Stamp Gang sprays ”Bayou Boogie Gold”, ”Dark Chocolate Truffle” and ”Cocoa Bean Copper” to give some color.

Closer 3

I heat embossed the ”Madelines flourish frame” chipboard with ”Bratwurst Brown” Lindy’s Stamp Gang embossing powder. The title was also embossed first with the ”Bratwurst Brown” and then with the ”Cafe au Lait” powder. The chipboards I used are 2crafty and the flowers are Prima Marketing.

Closer 4

To finish, I added some bronze micro beads and made some splatters with the sprays I used before.

That’s all for today, my friends!

Thank you for stopping by!

Good morning, Maja fans, welcome to the blog today 🙂

While visiting some craft company blogs I sometimes come across this “revisiting” idea. DT members return to old collections and make new projects with them. And so I decided to use the concept, and “revisit” one of my older projects: faux envelope cards. I also did a tutorial on them back in June (you can find it here). I also used the same collection, my favourite Vintage Romance 🙂

I think this is just a perfect collection for wedding cards! The first card is more vintage in style, and I kept the ivory-green colour palette, as if the colours faded with time 🙂

mdspring1

I didn’t use any sentiment, the image is pretty clear 🙂 I added a bouquet of roses and some pretty crystal flourishes:

mdspring2

Beautiful pearl brads and vintage seam ribbon complete the look:

mdspring3

The second card is more colourful as I followed the palette of the printed flowers:

mdspring4

The design is pretty much the same, only instead of an image I added a decorative chipboard sentiment:

mdspring5

I just love how the printed flowers blend with the dimensional ones!

mdspring6

And here are the supplies I used:

Other: flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; die: Magnolia; chipboard: Scrapiniec; brads: Craftmania; bling: Prima.

And how about you? Do you sometimes “revisit” your previous projects and give them a go again? 🙂

The image is from Magnolia, and I have coloured her with Distress Ink, re-inkers and markers. I try to use colours that fit the papers used.
