Hello Maja fans and welcome to the blog!

It’s Mary here with you today! I would like to share a new layout I made with papers from two collections… ”Enjoying outdoors” and ”Vintage Summer Basics”.

Layout

When I found that beautiful photo on Pinterest I decided to use it for my new layout… It’s so mysterious and so magical at the same time and I couldn’t resist! Of course, I want to give all the proper credits to the photographer.

Close up 1

The green paper is the ”Beautiful trees” from the ”Enjoying outdoors” and the brown is the ”Minnen” from the ”Vintage Summer Basics” collections. I tore the brown one in the middle and glued it on the green paper. Have I ever tell you how much I love to tear and distress those papers? They look amazingly gorgeous that way!

Close up 2

I made my background by using modeling paste and a stencil over a coat of clear gesso. All the mediums I used are Finnabair’s. This time, I prefered to play with magical powders (Red Hot Poker Orange, Cowbunga Copper and Cattail Copper Brown) from Lindy’s Stamp Gang to color my page. I made my own mist with ”Ponderosa Pines Olive” magical and misted the 2crafty chipboards.

I made my clusters with Prima Marketing flowers and I added some ”Scrap Unlimited” embellishments to accomplish them.

Close up 4

Some splatters with white gesso, microbeads in ”copper” to match with the earth colors and a few gems to finish my layout.

Layout

Hello Maja fans!

I have a new layout to share with you today. I made a mixed media vintage page using two different collections… ”Vintage Summer Basics” and ”Vintage Autumn Basics”.

I have also made a Video Tutorial…

As I always do I found this beautiful and romantic photo on Pinterest. So I want to give to the photographer all the proper credits.

Close Up 1

This photo is so romantic and inspired me to make a soft romantic layout.

For my background I choose the ”1916” paper from ”Vintage Summer Basics” collection and behind my photo I placed some torn pieces from ”1915” and ”1932” papers to make some layers.

At first, I gave my paper a coat of clear gesso and then I added some white gesso where I wanted to place my photo. I added some texture to my background with a light paste and two stencils. Then, I used Lindy’s Stamp Gang mists, ”Delphinium Turquoise” and ”Baby Blue Eyes Aqua” with some water to make a watercolor effect on my background.

Close Up 2

I sprayed my flowers with ”Blazing Sun” Lindy’s Glitz Spritz to make them shine. Then, I made a fussy cutting on some clocks from Vintage Autumn Basics ”No XVI” paper and added them to my clusters.

Close Up 3

All the chipboards I used are 2Crafty. I colored the two flourish pieces with ”Deep Waters” Finnabair acrylic paint and the ”Forever” title was heat embossed with ”Golden Angel Wings” Lindy’s embossing powder.

Hello Hello!

I have a LO to share today that created using 3 of Maja’s beautiful Collections.

Yet another reason I adore Maja papers… completely versatile and fabulous!

I chose the butterfly pattern paper because it happens to be one of my faves and it paired beautifully with the wood grain pattern and lots of torn edges.

I added jute, flowers with doilies and a bit of resin and a wood title… Lots of texture allows my

sweet Aaliyah’s photo to pop off the page…

Welcome to the Maja Design Blog! It’s Nancy, and I’m so excited to be here with you today! I’m sharing a new card inspired by Maja Design’s stunning Vintage Summer Basics Collection. This week I’m opting for a soothing, neutral palette, handmade mixed media blooms, and some fun rubber stamping.

The base of the card is formed by distressing, layering, and stitching lovely Maja Design papers.

The flowers are created with mulberry paper and a plethora of products to add texture and color. They coordinate with the card perfectly in real life. I think the camera picked up on the sheen in some of the sprays, giving them a brighter gold tone in my photos. My hands will be stained for days, but these flowers were ever so much fun!

Below is a side view of the bouquet and it’s many layers.

Artistic tearing reveals a second layer of  design paper.

Below is a closer look at the stamped image and stitching. One of the rubber stamps is an ad for paint, so I blended some acrylics to coordinate with the design paper and randomly splattered it about the card.

A 6

The twine bow and flower stamens are stained to fit in with the color palette.

The interior of the card is finished in design papers and stamping, but my photos of it didn’t turn out well. The picture below gives you an idea of how it’s completed. A 7

Goodmorning lovelies,

Oh how I love that summer is kicking in here in The Netherlands as maybe many of you know I really love those long warm summer day’s. Today I would like to show you a card I created with the beautiful “Vintage Summer Basics”collection. Not long ago I was asked “which” collection I like best, and I said it is so hard to choose but I did and this collection wasn’t among my favorites but I have to say it’s growing on me like every collection Maja Design has…….still unbelievable that I design for this amazing company.

I used four different sheets of this wonderful collection and layered them all on top of each other to give it more dimension! On top of that I used some “Scrapiniec” chipboard and Petaloo flowers and the flower in the middle is by “Tresors de Luxe”…..The text I used means a lot to me because life can be over in a blink.

What is your favorite collection that Maja Designs made? What I like about the chipboard I used is that you don’t have to treat it with anything and just use it plane like it is….not many chipboard companies have that!
