Layout

Hello my dear friends!!!

It’s Mary here with you today and I have a new layout to share with you made with the awesome ”Denim & Friends” collection.

When I found on Pinterest this beautiful photo of a girl with a mysterious feeling I knew that I had to scrap it with these gorgeous papers. So, I choose the ”Leather” paper and combined it with some beautiful flowers from Petaloo by Floracraft. I have also used some torn pieces from the ”Wood” paper to make some layers behide my photo. But, before I continue more I want to give all the proper credits to the ”unknown” photographer.

I have also made a VIDEO TUTORIAL with the procedure…

Here are some close ups…

Closer 1

I gave my background a coat of clear gesso and also applied some white on the center of the paper to highlight the spot where I placed my cluster.

Closer 2

Then, I added some texture with modeling paste and a stencil. I continued by coloring my page with Lindy’s Stamp Gang sprays ”Cattail Copper Brown” and ”Dark Chocolate Truffle”.

Closer 3

I heat embossed the ”Flourish 2” chipboard with the ”Midnight Gold” Lindy’s embossing powder. The ”Foliage Set 1” and the title from the  ”Mini Travel Word Set 2” were also embossed with the ”Spanish Moss Green” powder. As usual all the chipboards I used are 2crafty.

To finish my page, I added some Bronze micro beads & Plum glass beads with gel medium and made some splatters with White Artist Acrylic Ink.

Hello and welcome back to the home of Maja Designs. Tina Ollett back with you today to share my first layout using the gorgeous new collection of “Denim and Friends”.

This project has been titled

“You are Awesome”……

2017-07-18 You are awesome 019 (1024x1016)

Opening my box of goodies from the lovely ladies at Maja Designs was a definite hightlight of my week. My squeals of pure joy and excitement brought a number of my family members walking down to the art room to find out exactly what was going on.

2017-07-18 You are awesome 012 (1024x768)

Doing pretty layouts with copious amounts of flowers and embellishments is my go to thing for most projects, but today because this is mainly a masculine paper collection, I have opted to use a photo of my son who is quite happy not to be the centre of attention ever especially in my scrapbooking, but today it is! I captured this photo of him a number of years ago whilst we were on holidays at the Great Barrier Reef. We were on our way out to the reef on a very windy day and he was so very excited to be going snorkeling. The photo says it all.

2017-07-18 You are awesome 014 (768x1024)

I decided to keep this layout very simple with layering of all this fabulous collection. Of course I love to use woodgrain patterns to custom make the design for my chipboards and photo to sit. I used 2 sheets of Wood to create this using the first for the background page.

I have also added in the bs of Leather ( I also love polkadots) as a square frame to sit all of the cut wood to sit upon. And over this I have cut sections of Stonewashed to lay over this. My photo is also matted with Stonewashed.

Autumn-Basics-P

I have also used sheets of papers from the Vintage Autumn Basics collection, cutting some of the hot air balloons for embellishments to add to my project.

2017-07-18 You are awesome 015

I have also used lots of yummy Dusty Attic chipboards to emphasise my photo. These were inked and painted and layered amongst the layers of papers to allow more dimension to my layout.

Well that is all from me today. I hope you enjoyed your visit. Remember to return tomorrow for another Design Team creation. Until then take care and happy crafting. xxx
