Layout

Hello my dear friends! Happy Sunday to all!

It’s Mary here with you today sharing my latest layout made with papers from two of my favourite collections, the ”Sofiero” and the ”Monochromes – shades of Sofiero”.

A soft romantic layout in blue and gold tones that was inspired by the beautiful photo which I found on Pinterest. And, before I continue I want to give all the proper credits to the ”unknown” photographer.

Close up 1

I used for my background the ”The magnificent Flowerstreet” paper from the ”Sofiero” collection and I made a die cut doily with the ”White/Sand” paper from the ”Monochromes – shades of Sofiero”.

Close up 2

I primed my background with white gesso and when it was dried, I added some texture with modeling paste and a stencil. Then, I colored my page using Lindy’s Stamp Gang sprays ”Baby Blue Eyes Aqua” and ”Hydrangea Blue”.

Close up 3

I heat embossed the ”Ada’s Flourishes” 2Crafty chipboard with ”King Midas Gold” Lindy’s embossing powder. The title was also embossed with the ”Madonna Rabe Blue” powder. The title chipboards I used are 13arts and all the flowers and embellishments are Prima Marketing.

To finish, I added some copper micro beads with gel medium and made some splatters with white acrylic artists ink.

That’s all for today, my friends!

Thank you for stopping by!

Jennifer Snyder here today with a graceful birthday card created by pairing papers from the Vintage Spring Basics and the Vintage Autumn Basics collections.  The beautiful thing about the “Vintage Basics” collections is that they were made to mix and match.  That’s just what I did.
Here are the papers I chose:
Maja Design Papers – Vintage Spring Basics – 6th of May -both A and B sides
The tiny delicate butterflies were from the Maja Design Papers – Vintage Spring Basics – 6th of May 12×12 paper. They make great card accents.
The sweet floral pink pops of color are Petaloo rom the mauve flowers Petaloo Penny Lane Forget Me Not – Antique Pink  and the darling cupcake stamp is from JustRite Papercrafts.

Hello Maja Friends. it’s Elena here.

I am very addicted to album making. I consider this is the best way to enjoy the paper and to showcase the beauty of it.

Baby_Boy_Album_Maja_Design11

I have already made many of baby albums, but every time while working on the album for a boy I feel the challenge what kind of embellishments to add, as you can not fill it with the flowers only

Baby_Boy_Album_Maja_Design1

By the way , the flowers can be used , not many , but I guess that the mother will enjoy to have them too.

But to try find those that remind you the masculine color and play more with the paper.

A good option is to add various ribbons in blue, teal, yellow.

Baby_Boy_Album_Maja_Design4

also you can mix the Boy Dies – rocket ships, air balloons, cars and others

I have already told that Maja paper collections are versatile and you can mix the collections for every project you create.

This time I used Vintage Summer Basics as the base for my album, but I also added the paper from Vintage Spring Basics, Vintage Romance  and I mixed even the Christmas papers too.

Crea Diem is a fabulous collection for any album too.

So I wanted to give you a heads up that you don’t need to follow the traditional thinking about the name of the collection. You can reveal your imagination with beautiful papers indeed.

Hope that I have managed to involve you in album making process too.

so stay tuned for more albums from me

Hello Sweeties

Today I’m up on Maja Design blog with a new layout with the Vintage Romance. I chose a photo I’ve taken during my trip in Prague of the special statue designed by Eva Blahová: the dress is a knitting.

As usual, I primed the background with clear gesso. Then I added a design with a stamp. I embossed the stamp image with a sticky powder to adhere some gold foil.

I added a second design with a stencil and clear crackle paste. I let dry naturally to allow the crackle to appear.

While the crackle paste was drying I die cut some leaves in a watercolor paper. I colored them with some Twinkling H2O and embossed them.

I cut some papers to add under the photo and I glued all the embellishments: flowers, leaves, and some doily’s scraps.

When done, I colored the background with bright colors to remind the photo.

I finished the layout with mica flakes and micro beads.

Hello, I'm Pascale B. from France. Since I began to scrap, flowers are part of my layouts, and I gradually started to use mixed media as well. I don’t know how to define my style, perhaps something like free vintage shabby style could be a good definition. Visit me at www.pbhobby.blogspot.com

Hello there, dear Visitors to the Maja Design blog!

Do you remember the First Communion exploding box I shared last time? That was a girl version, and I decided I need a boy verion as well 😉 And so I selected some blue and brown papers and here it is:

mdboxb

I used the Summertime papers – and believe it or not, my choice was mainly because of this gorgeous roses paper I chose for the box sides 🙂 Just look how beautiful it is! I also added some Sofiero papers as the collections go well together 🙂

mdboxb1

I selected flowers in matching colour for the box lid:

mdboxb2

The inside of the box is mostly the same as the girl’s box:

And so there’s the stamped boy image with the cross and flower cluster:

mdboxb4

…the strip of paper for sliding in money:

mdboxb5

…and a chipboard chalice decorated with flowers:

Maja Design papers are perfect for elegant or formal occasions, their subtle, classic designs and delicate colour palettes perfectly match the chosen theme. I really like how this boy box turned out!

I used the following supplies:

Other: stamps: Whiff of Joy, Lemonade; chipboard: Scrapiniec, Anemone; dies: Magnolia, Spellbinders; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; Distress inks, glitter: Ranger;  wax string, bling, washi tape: my stash.

See you later!
