Hello Maja fans!

I wish you all a very happy New Year full of health, love and hapiness. Mary with you today to share my inspiration for January.

When I found that beautiful photo on Pinterest, I wanted to scrap it and finally I made a soft wintery layout in grey and teal colors, with lots of flowers, laces and chipboards. But, before I continue more I want to give all the proper credits to the ”unknown” photographer.

I combined two paper collections, the ”Nyhavn” and the ”Vintage Summer Basics”. I choose the ”Sitting at the Dock” paper from the ”Nyhavn” collection for my background paper. Then, I added some layers with the ”Eating Out” paper from the same collection and the ”1934” from the ”Vintage Summer Basics”.

First, I gave my background a coat of clear gesso. When it was dried, I added some texture with snowflake paste and a stencil and then I used graphite paste with a second stencil to give more contrast on my page. I also made some stamping here and there. I continued by coloring my page with the sparks ”Mermaid Sparkle” acrylic paint.

I painted the flourish chipboards with the metallique ”Silver Spoon” acrylic paint and the chipboard title with the sparks ”Mermaid Sparkle” acrylic paint. Then, I gently rubbed them with the ”Vintage Gold” wax. The chipboards I used, are from Dusty Attic.

When everything was glued down, I added some art stones and glitter. I also made some splatters with white gesso diluted with some water.

That’s all for today, my friends!

Thank you for stopping by!

Hello Sweeties

I wish you all a happy new year 2018 full of happiness, joy, and creativity. Maja Design has this new collection Celebration create especially for their 10th anniversary. When I saw the collection, I thought immediately about this photo of my paternal grandmother taken in the twenties!

Justine by Pascale B.

I used two stamps with two inks to add the first design. One little anecdote, one of the stamps I used is, in fact, an extract of her parents’marriage certificate. Next, I primed the background with clear gesso.

When the gesso was dry, I added a design with a stencil and two pastes: Graphite and Brown Rust.

While the pastes were drying, I die cut some leaves in a watercolor paper. I colored them with different inks as well as flowers.

Next, I cut a few papers to add under the photo and before gluing all the embellishments I colored the background with different inks.

To finished the layout, I added some mica flakes and glitter.

Hello, I'm Pascale B. from France. Since I began to scrap, flowers are part of my layouts, and I gradually started to use mixed media as well. I don’t know how to define my style, perhaps something like free vintage shabby style could be a good definition. Visit me at www.pbhobby.blogspot.com

Hello dear Maja fans,

This is Kavitha here with my first post, I am so happy and honored to be a part of this wonderful team.

I made a soft and girly layout with Vintage summer basics. I stenciled some floral design with modelling paste on to the background. For layering I added some papers from Vintage summer basics and Vintage spring basics collection.

I added lots of laces for the soft and feminine look.Behind the photo i added some chipboard pieces which i painted with white gesso and heat embossed with embossing powders

I finished it off with some Prima flowers, chipboard butterflies and white splatters.

Welcome and a very happy New Year to you. Tina with you today to share my project for January.

This layout was inspired by the Dusty Attic Moodboard for the month. I saw it and immediately thought Maja and stylish elegance. And what better way to display all of these than with a wedding photo. A very special photo of my little family from quite a few years ago. But this photo I feel captures all that our day was…..pure happiness and love.

I hope you enjoy this!

“Love”

Every now and then I come across a patterned paper that really projects gorgeousness in itself. And this piece I selected from the Walking in the forest collection is one of those that I am talking of. It was really all I needed to create this project with …….and em

Flannel Shirt bs

This piece which I find just gorgeous with the suttle foliage at the side I find really elegant. My background was stencilled with some hearts and accentuated using paints and texture paste. I also added a very small amount of stamping.

You can see above the minty colour paint I used to help the photo pop from the page.

I did some layering of chipboards to create a base for my photo to sit upon. I then clustered flowers and lace leaves around this to bring the photo to attention.

Here you can see more layering upon the gorgeous piece of Flannel Shirt bs.

And a few more photos from different views…………..

Above you can see the background hearts which have been dressed and heat set to create dimension.

Here you can see the gorgeous 49andMarket flowers. These have been layered and clustered around the chipboards.

I have also added some hand dyed soft leaf lace to help soften my project.

Well that is all from me today. I hope you have enjoyed your visit. See you again next time and happy scrapping.
