Hello! Welcome to the Maja Design Blog! It’s Nancy here with you on this beautiful Tuesday. A week ago I posted a complete tutorial for paper roses, so I’m using some of my handmade blossoms to bring this secret garden to life. I have a passion for secret gardens. Honestly, I can’t get enough of them. My home, Charleston, is filled with private gardens sequestered behind tall brick walls with elaborate wrought iron gates. I’m always trying to peek beyond the gates to glimpse the beauty that lies beyond.

You don’t have to peek around massive iron gates to visit my garden! Inside you are greeted by distressed Maja Design papers, layered die cut doilies, abundant handcrafted blooms, shabby resin embellishments, and a sweet stamped sentiment.

Goodmorning lovelies,

Today it’s my turn again on this lovely blog and i’d like to share a 12×12 layout using several beautiful Maja Design paper collections. This time I have used a picture of my little family this picture makes me smile because hubby didn’t want to have his sunglasses on and now it looks like he needs to poop lol….

For my layout I used a whole bunch of new {well for me they are new} stamps from 49 and Market for the background. but also for my chipboard pieces. I just love the way this layout turned out because purple is my favorite color. The chipboard are all by Dusty Attic and I colored them with two different color distress ink + Faber Castell gelatos fig. Also I used some of the cute lavender prills…..and some paste with a stencil.

The flowers are by Little Birdie and Prima Marketing I was planing on using some amazing shimmer flowers by 49 and Market but somehow I ended up with these…..I really love the brown background sheet I used because of the text on it and that you can use it for any occasion.

For the first time I actually used a blending tool to do the colors on the background except the purple Lindy’s Stamp Gang spray I used it was totally different for me but great to do. I also cute out two sizes Cheery Lynn Designs French Pastry doily’s to add behind different parts of my layout to give it more flair.

Hello, dear friends! It’s Nancy today, and I’m honored to welcome you to the Maja Design Blog.

Are you busy with holiday preparations? It’s Christmas central at my house, and am I ever thankful for Maja Design Papers! They are helping my holiday crafting to go so smoothly. Today I’m sharing a Christmas card created with the festive ‘It’s Christmas time’ collection.

A 5

The base papers are distressed and stitched together.

A 3

I took a chance on my arm being once again strong enough to handcraft these poinsettias. All of the paper embellishments are fussy cut from the collection. With Maja Design you can really ‘let the papers do the talking’.

A 3b

There’s a great deal of dimension to this card but I’m having difficulty capturing it in my photos. Each element is popped up with one or more layers of foam adhesive.

A 6

A couple of die cut chipboard snowflakes, some lace and pearls from my stash, and a twine bow help to complete the card.

A 7

A light dusting of gesso adds a frosty finish.
