Hello there and welcome. Tina with you today to share my newest creation using Maja Designs beautiful Vintage Summer Basics. This has been titled, “Because of you…”.

2016-11-20 November 033

I love nothing better than to tear papers and sometimes I get a bit carried away. When it comes time to layering I make it more than difficult to jigsaw it back together. And usually I have something in mind and the end result is nothing at all like that picture in my head that I started with. This is exactly what happened when creating this layout. The picture in my head was to be predominately browns with a smiggin of pinks. But alas this was not the case here……

I have used the gorgeous Vintage Summer Basics for the overall designing of my layout. My Base page was 1909 bs. I absolutely love the detailed background on this but I felt it still needed a little more to help my photo pop. I also did a little random stamping using Gabi’s Postcard Acrylic Stamps.

The Vintage Summer Basics 1905 paper was cut and used as a border. It was distressed, torn in sections and adhered to frame my photo. I also used some cool Dusty Attic Stitching chipboard over the top. I have torn the chipboard to give a rustic charm to my page.

I have also used the Vintage Summer Basics 1923 for my stamped title quote which reads:

Because of you, I laugh a little harder,

Cry a little less and smile a little more.

Here you can see all the pieces of Dusty chippies that I have added to this dimensional cluster. The skeleton clock, foliage and the gorgeous frame. They were all dressed in crackle paste and distress inks. The skeleton clock was embossed and then sanded to create a vintage worn look.

And again, here you can see the 1908 patterned paper used along with 1905 and 1923 as the matting foundation for my photo.

You can see here the gorgeous detail on the background paper. I have also added in some art stones and cheesecloth to soften my layout a little more. The clusters were all dry brushed with gesso to tone down the colours and bring it all together. I have made a full list below of all the materials used in creating this layout for your convenience.

Amazing Beauty

Hello there Maja fans. Thanks for stopping by. Today I have another layout to share with you & I have again used the fabulous “Vintage Summer Basics” collection. It has to be one of my favourite Maja Design collections because it is so versatile.

For the panel across the middle of my layout I have used the “1905” paper & for my background I have used the “1932” paper & as you can see they compliment each other so well. Because they are fairly neutral too, you can then add pretty much any accessory colour. Here I have added pinks & yellows.

Before I started, I added a light coat of gesso to the papers which makes them a little lighter, but I wanted to then do a little stencilling with some texture paste. When I had finished the stencilling, I then added a little pink in the way of some mists & finished off with some stamping. I always like to add a little mixed media to my layouts.

I have also used some lovely little mini words, heart frame &  chippie foliage all from 2Crafty Chipboard.

Lots of beautiful flowers to finish off with.

Here are the Maja Design “Vintage Summer Basics” papers I have used to create my layout. The one on the left is the “1905” & the one on the right is the “1932”. Fabulous aren’t they.

Well thats all for today. Until next time.

Sweet girl new

Hello there Maja fans & welcome to the blog. Today I have a layout featuring my little grandaughter & I have done it a little different to how I normally scrap!!! I have actually cut the photo out and made it a little 3D against the background. I have used some papers from the “Vintage Summer Basics” collection.

Naturally I have gone with lots of beautiful flowers & I have painted all the 2Crafty chipboard in black to create a good contrast to this fabulous paper.

I have also done some mixed media around the photo cluster & added lots of stamping, micro beads & added a little watercolour as well.

IMG_0920

For my background I have used the “1891” paper & I have torn a strip to place along both the top & bottom edges using the “1905” paper. Both these papers are from the “Vintage Summer Basics collection.

Here is a close up of the photo fussy cut out. It is a great idea if there are things you don’t want to see in the background of the photo, although not all photos are suitable for doing this & I would never cut up an original.

Here is another close up of that “1891” paper. I think it gives this layout a rather modern edge.

Below you can see the papers I have used.

Thats all for today & I will see you back here again in a couple of weeks.

Until then.
