My Little Star

Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today πŸ™‚

It’s been two months since I created anything with my all-time favourite Maja collection, Denim&Friends! πŸ˜€ And so I couldn’t wait any longer and made a layout for my today’s post:

I really love grid patterns, they give you a sense of using a piece of an actual document and at the same time provide some useful structure to plan your design πŸ˜‰ As I like clear composition and straight lines, I really appreciate that feature of the background. To introduce the theme of the layout, I applied stars pattern with a stencil and texture paste. Then I matted the photo with a light sand-coloured sheet and added some hand-cut tags:

…the flower-embellishments cluster:

…with a piece cut off the signature strip:

…and finally the title arranged with sticker chipboard letters:

I included many star motives to refer to the title: stencilled, die-cut and art clay ones. I also added some starshine πŸ˜‰ – the stencil paste is gold and I die-cut the stars in mirror gold cardstock.I think this gave the whole a coherent look both with motives and textures. What do you think?

And here’s what I used for the layout:

Maja Design papers:

Other: flowers: Prima, Wild Orchid Crafts; dies: Crea-Nest-Lies; alpha stickers: American Crafts; cabochon, charm, sequins – my stash.

And that’s all for today, thank you for visiting and come back tomorrow for more inspiration πŸ™‚

Good morning, dear Visitors to the Maja Design blog πŸ™‚

Today I have a layout to share, featuring a photo of my younger son with his signature look, that is smiling widely πŸ™‚

Since the moment he was born he was a very joyful child, always positive and ready to play. When I look through our family album, on almost all photos he looks like this:

Of course, there are moments of a worse mood, especially now that he is in his early teens, but if I were to characterise him in one word, that would be “smiley” πŸ™‚ And I wanted to document this in my layout.

For my page I used one of our older Christmas collections, I Wish (I always use Christmas papers for non-holiday projects, usually the papers are too beautiful to use them once a year! πŸ™‚ ) The design is very simple: just a couple of banners, some buttons and the title made of chipboard sticker alphabet:

I also added some stamping in the background:

In the flwoer cluster I put a clay face that looks very similar to my boy’s smile πŸ™‚

I do hope my son would always have a reason to smile!

And here’s the list of my supplies:

Maja Design papers:

Other: stamps: Tim Holtz; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts, Prima; molds: Prosvet; art clay: Martha Stewart; cotton ribbon: Prima; buttons Dovecraft, glitter ink: 13@rts.

And that’s all for today, see you soon!

Good morning, dear Visitors, welcome to the Maja Design blog πŸ™‚

After a series of projects I created with the latest Celebration collection I return to one of my all-time favourites, Denim & Friends. I just love the colours and patterns of these papers! And here’s the layout I made:

The design of the page is my version of the clean&simple style πŸ˜‰ I didn’t want to cover the beautiful background paper too much, so I matted the photo with just a couple of tags and a flower cluster mounted on a chipboard clock face:

I also decorated the paper with some stamping and a delicate brick pattern that I added with a stencil and modeling paste. The art clay angel wing adds some lightness to the darker colours:

I die-cut the layout title from the brown Monochromes set matching the collection – I’m so happy Maja started to release the plain papers sets, they save the pain of sacrificing beautiful patterned papers for matting and small elements πŸ˜€

Though it’s not the classic clean&simple page, I still like the way it turned out – light and fresh πŸ™‚ What do you think?

And here’s the list of supplies I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: die: Kesi’art; stamp: My Favourite Things; flowers: Prima, Wild Orchid Crafts; stencil: Tim Holtz; chipboard: Wycinanka, button: Lemoncraft; wing mold: Prosvet.

Thank you for visiting today and see you later πŸ™‚

Good morning, Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today πŸ™‚

I’ bringing you the layout I made using our latest release, the Celebration collection:

The layout is cheerful and light, featuring the subtle mauve and cream colours of the collection – yet it contains a strong message that I used as a title-journaling, taking advantage of the signature strip it was printed on:

Then I placed my photo upon layers of pieces of papers. I tried to showcase as many beautifull patterns as possible πŸ˜‰ I added a chipboard clockface and some flowers:

Splashes of mists in matching colours, glitter ink dots and printed cotton ribbon add some shine to the page – it’s about life celebration so a bit of glam doesn’t hurt πŸ˜‰

The layout also proves that boy layouts can employ pink shades without going too sweet πŸ˜‰ Don’t you think?

And here’s what I used:

Other: flowers: Prima, Wild Orchid Crafts; mists: Tattered Angels; glitter ink: 13@rts; chipboard: Wycinanka; butterflies: UHK Gallery; ribbon: my stash.

That’s all from me today, thank you for visiting and hope to see you later!

Hello Maja Friends,

for my today’s post I created 2 Layouts. Initially I planned to make only one, but you may know that sometimes when we our creative mind starts thinking it’s difficult to stop it. So I followed it and this is what I’ve reached.

Denim_LO_by_Elena_Olinevich_for_Maja_Design_00

The first one has no mixed media layers. I’ve only put several layers of paper and die cuts together.

I used the sentiment for my Lo, and I think that this little mistake make it too cute for the kid’s project.

Before I made this Layout, I’ve started with other background, I kept all the elements mostly.

I started with the paper, you can check it in my video clip.

and only then I added few paint drops.

I like these quilt patterns, that I made with Spellbinders dies.
