Hello, Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today 🙂

Time is flying fast, but I thought that before I get down to making Christmas cards with I Wish (as I think October is just too early 😉 ) I should get back to some older collections and create a nice layout 🙂 And so I picked the beautiful Vintage Romance and made a page about my sweet elder son (as last time I shared a layout with my sweet younger son and I have to keep the even record, you know):

I opted for one of my favourite off-white-blue-brown colour combos, and layered selected papers:

…added some embellishments, including flowers and chipboard pieces:

…as well as metal elements – I just love using real watch parts! I also used pieces of signature strips as jounraling, choosing expressions of love:

The title of the layout is composed of die-cut words. I also added some stamping here and there:

Flowers and distressed edges of particular layers gave this nice dimension 🙂

I really love working with this beautiful collection! Even though it’s been design to fit love, romance and wedding themes, it’s so easy to adapt it for other purposes too! That is common to all Maja collections and that’s why I love them so much 🙂

And here’s what I used for my layout:

Other: Chipboard: SnipArt; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; stamps: Tim Holtz; metal charms, watch face: Retro Kraft Shop, dies: Kesi’Art, MFT.

See you later!

Hello Maja Friends. It’s Elena here today.

All of you know how beautiful Maja Design papers are, it’s such a pleasure to embellish it with the flowers, however it’s always a challenge for me to create something for the boys – with no flowers, with no lace  or ribbons. And yes, I have to confess it takes me much more time to invent what to add. The gears, arrows are too boring, what else can be used?

Ok, I tried to find new ways. First, try to experiment with  die cut negative shapes

You can do several layers. Moustashes and air ballons are still my favorite die cuts while creating something for the boys, however I like adding the birthday balloons too.

The feathers are one of my all time favorite die cuts that can be easily used everywhere. Just add some glitter – and they are not so boring.

However I still like to use blue and craft colors for the boyish layouts, I know they look classy and more traditional one.

Meanwhile I still like to make the papers look vintage and torn and distressed edges work great especially when you create for the boys.

I hope that some of my ideas how to create for boys with no flowers will be useful and if you have more ideas to share , okease, you are welcome to leave the comments bellow.

Hello there! And thank you for visiting our blog today. I was asked to make two confirmand cards for boys by an old friend of mine. Her son and his best friend are confirmands this spring. I looked for inspiration, and found it on Hilde‘s instagram. I made myself a template for the vest. And the bow is made with a Sizzix die.

But as you can see, these are not some ordinary cards, they are book cards. Perfect to place small gifts or even money inside. I am in love with the new collection Vintage Romance, and of course I had to use the new papers on these cards aswell. The cards measures 16 x 11 x 2,5 cm.

The hashtag-texts are written on my computer and printed out.

I have glued on the buttons, and painted the papers and the buttons brifely with white gesso. All the papers edges are inked with Distress Ink-Walnut Stain and sewed. Under each pattern paper, I have bazzill-Vanilla. I like the thickness :)

Here are just some closeups of the cards. The bow is made with the cool paper called Honeymoon bs. So the paper is not only for weddings, also mainly boys and mens cards.

I really adore the patterns in the Maja Design papers, and the papers in the collections fits so well together.

The letters are cut out with dies from Sizzix. And I have added Crackle Accent onto them (then they get a more shabby 3D look).

For the inside I have made a pocket. and also put some hashtags and greetings inside of the folded sides. I have used watercolour paper 200g from Canson for the foldings.

Even though it’s Christmas, I have something else than a Christmas prosject to show you today. My husband has his birthday on the 25th of December so today I have made him a birthday card. I have used papers from both Vintage Summer Basics and Vintage Autumn Basics together with a vintage image, washi tape, chipboard, corrugated cardboard, stickers and a pin.

Good morning Maja friends! Are you all doing fine? Have you realized that it’s only two month until you have to send your Christmas cards? That means you soon have to start making them!

IMG_1780

This card is made with papers from “Vintage Frost Basics”. I have used both “1st of December” and “10th of December” for this card.

I have used images of angels, lace, chipboard, cheese cloth and a wooden star.

Do you want to see another card? Today my daughters boyfriend turns 23, and I made him a birthday card some days ago.

Here I have used papers from “Vintage Winter”, both “Bake a Christmas cake” and “It’s chilly outside”.
