Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today ๐Ÿ™‚

In some countries the first adult birthday comes when you turn 21, but in many, Poland including, it’s as early as 18. It’s usually an occasion to throw a big party and celebrate entering adulthood while still being entitled to behave like a teenager ๐Ÿ™‚ And it’s a great occasion to give a handmade card too, isn’t it?

I was really happy when my all-time favourite collection Denim&Friends got its girly partner ๐Ÿ™‚ I love the images sheet, the colours and patterns that refer to and complete the masculine papers. And to celebrate this new addition to the Maja paper family I decided to make the cards with these two collections. Both feature images in the centre of design and navy blue accents.

The girl’s version adds a touch of pink and a bit of glamour with crystal gems and the digits cut out from gold metallic mirror cardstock:

In the card for a boy I added some steampunk elements also die-cut from gold cardstock. Just as in the girl’s card I incorporated the “You’re a star” phrase – in the previous card it was printed in the background paper, here it’s a snippet of the signature strip:

I really like the way the cards turned out – simple but pleasant to the eye ๐Ÿ™‚ What do you think?

And here’s what I used:

Maja Desing papers:

Other: dies: Rosy Owl, Joy! Crafts; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; crystals: Prima.

And when do you celebrate the first adult birthday in your country?

Good morning, Maja Friends, welocme to the blog today ๐Ÿ™‚

May is traditionally a month of the First Communions in Poland. Every May Sunday in various churches a group of kids receive the Sacrament and then celebrate with their faimilies with festive dinner and presents. Money and jewellery are quite popular First Communion gifts and I designed exploding boxes to give them a nice packaging ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s the girl’s version:

I decorated the box with Celebration papers:

The lid is decorated with a flower bouquet and a stamped sentiment embossed with golden ep:

When the lid is removed, the walls fall open and reveal the inside. There’s a stamped, embossed and hand-coloured image of a First Communion girl:

…a small gift pocket:

I also added a panel with a stamped poem, whilst in the centre I placed the chalice decorated with flowers:

The girl’s version is traditionally in the pink palette – I also made a boy’s version in blues:

The design is basically the same, of course the stamp is different ๐Ÿ™‚

I really like how the Celebration collection provided delicate flower patterns for the girl’s box, but also elegant flowerless motives for the boy version ๐Ÿ™‚

And how do you like the boxes?

Here’s the list of my supplies:

Maja Design papers:

Other: dies: Spellbinders, custom vine die; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; stamps: Lemonade; washi tape: Dekoracyjna Taล›ma; bling: Marianne Design.

Good morning, Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today ๐Ÿ™‚

This week my elder son will ccelebrate his Confirmation. And suddenly I realised I have never made a Confirmation card before! ๐Ÿ™‚ So today I bring you two cards for this occasion, one for a girl and the other for a boy.

I kept the design pretty simple, with light background papers, delicate flower combos and filigree chipboard pieces. I decided not to use patterned papers in the background and instead added some texture with die-cut doilies.

The girl’s version features traditional pink tones:

… and the boy’s card goes with blue:

I think they turned out quite nice, delicate and fit for the occasion. And I really like the subtle look with Monochrome papers in the background, with just a hint of a pattern and still very decorative. What do you think?

And here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: dies: Prima, Cheery Lynn Designs; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; chipboard: SnipArt; acrylic stones: Prima.

That is all for today, thank you for visiting and come back tomorrow for more inspiration from my DT friends ๐Ÿ™‚

Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today!

Recently I got some cutest photos of my cousin’s precious baby girl and of course I couldn’t resist making layouts with some of them ๐Ÿ˜‰ And for my today’s post I’m sharing one of those pages:

I chose the beautiful Marriage Proposal paper from the Vintage Romance collection for my background. I added some colour along the border with Distress ink and then stamped peony silhouettes:

I matted the photo with pieces from the Sofiero and Denim&Friends collections that matched the photo colour scheme. Then I added my floewr cluster mimicking the one in the picture:

I extended it into a cascade blending into the stamped pattern and glitter-covered chipboard flourishes:

I composed the title using epoxy and paper stickers. Then I added some sequins and gemstones as the finishing touch:

I mounted the layers of papers on pieces of cardboard (great way to use up delivery boxes ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) so they don’t look flat against the flowers. And I really love the dimension it gives!

What do you think?

And here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: stamps: Altenew; flowers: Prima, Wild Orchid Crafts; stickers: American Crafts, Piฤ…tek Trzynastego; chipboard: Miszmasz Papierowy; Distress inks, glitter: Ranger; sequins, bling: my stash.

That’s all for today, thank you for visiting and keep dropping by for more inspiration every day!

Good morning, Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today ๐Ÿ™‚

I have recently had the pleasure of making a sweet birthday card for a sweet girl.

I used mostly Denim & Friends papers as they matched the colours from the photo most perfectly. I added just a touch of the Vintage Summer pink in the background:

I have die-cut the embellishments from the papers, such as the cute heart banners and the number flag:

I stamped the cute beart with a heart, coloured it and paper-pieced the heart using a scrap of the Vintage Romance heart-patterned paper. I then added a small letter “O” for the girl’s name:

I also added plaid ribbon and some mini flowers and cute white pom-poms as the finishing touch.

And I think the card symbolises the 9-year-old girls quite accurately: still cute, but not too much ๐Ÿ˜‰ What do you think?

Here are my supplies:

Maja Design papers:

Other: dies: Marianne Design, Craft Passion; stamp: ScrapBerry’s; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; ribbon: Rayher, pom-poms: my stash.

Before I bid you goodbye, I’d like to wish you a joyous Easter filled with the warmth of love and kindness ๐Ÿ™‚

See you soon!
