Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today 🙂

What is your childhood association with summertime? In my family it’s always been blackberry picking and eating, making blackberry pies, dumplings, jelly, eating them with sugar and cream… 🙂 So the singature look for summer kids in my family is a berry tongue! And it’s no different for my kids:

I used the Tropical Garden collection not only because it’s a perfect summer collection, but also because it features that perfect shade of berry purple 🙂 I matted the photo with bits of paper and hand-cut tags and added art clay fern leaves, “berry twigs” with mulberry leaves and die-cut berries 🙂 I also die-cut letters to arrange the title. I finished the layout by spraying some moss-green and gold mist.

And here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: dies: Craft&You Design, Marianne Design; leaves: 49&Market, mists: Prima, fern mold: Prosvet.

That’s all for today, see you soon!

Tropical Wedding Card

Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today 🙂

The summer this year spoils us – sometimes too much, really! – with hot weather. And it is also traditionally the most busy time of the year when weddings are concerned. And when you combine “hot summer” and “wedding” you can only get a tropical wedding card 😀

In Poland, when we describe a couple who is very much in love, we use a saying that can be translated as “inseparable parrots”. So it was a perfect motive for me to put on a wedding card! I cut out two birds from the “Major Mitchell” sheet and arranged a love scene, adding some more cut outs, a filigree chipboard heart and some dimensional flowers. To make the flower cluster look fuller, I stamped some leaves in the background paper to match the printed ones. I also stamped the sentiment “Forever” directly onto the paper. I finished the card with some vintage ribbon, string and acrylic gems.

The card is nicely dimensional too, due to mounting particular layers on foam dots of various heights.

And here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: stamps, chipboard: Agateria; flowers, ribbon: Wild Orchid Crafts; acrylic gems, string: my stash.

That’s all for today, thank yopu for visiting and see you later!

Welcome Friends.  Jennifer Snyder here with some cards featuring the beautiful new Tropical Garden from Maja Design.  My theme today centers around the strong purple parrot image.

Here is an image of the collection.  What stunning colors and rich imagery.  I want to show that this collection is also great for strong cards as well – maybe for times when florals are not needed.

The papers used today are as follows: Purple Parrot, Big Leaves, Subtropical ( both A and B sides of the paper) as well as Monochrome sheets from the Shades of Tropical collection.

Additional products used today:

In addition to the gorgeous papers from the Tropical Gardens collection, I used dies and sentiment stamps from Spellbinders.

Thank you for stopping here today.  The new collection has sipped and is now available in your favorite on-line store.  The store finder link may help.

Happy crafting!

 Goodmorning lovely Maja Design friends,

How sweet of you to visit the blog today, here in The Netherlands it’s nice warm weather just as I like it the summer kicked in Oh Yeah!!!. Today I would like to share a layout that’s close to my heart. I made this layout with the newest Maja Design collection called “Tropical Garden” which has beautiful pale & soft tones in it. Why is this layout so special you may wonder well it’s because of the picture {you probably guessed that already} I made this picture without both knowing I did they had a special moment here and I captured it……

I took some of the pink & purple papers and the cut out sheet and I fussy cut the whole sheet. Then I wrinkled the pink paper and used a stencil by Finnabair on the purple sheet. I placed the pink sheet on the purple after I added some pink, purple & white Lindy’s Stamp Gang sprays! Then the building a layout begins on the bottom of my picture I added some courd as I did on in the flower clusters too….I really like this part of making the layout. Some of the beautiful board I left just the way it is and on some I added paint & waxes.

Maja Design papers used: Tropical Garden: Soundscape-bs, Exotic Plants, Purple parrot-bs & Diecuts

Monochromes: Shades of Tropical – Orchid

Thank you so much for your visit today. And I sure hope that I have inspired you to take out your lovely Maja Design papers and create and have fun while doing so. Have a blessed & sunny weekend!

Hugs

Hello Maja Friends,

this June was really hot and I even thought about the climate change, it seems we live in tropics. However here is my Layout I made with the new brand Tropical Garden Collection

I enjoyed fussy cutting process, and there is so much to cut out in this collection

the awesome parrots and tropical flowers

and the lilac tones, that I am so in love with. I was lucky to find the photo from our trip to Italy, in 2019. I so miss the travelling during this pandemic situation .

It was really a lovely day at the Lake Maggiore at Isola Bella.
