Hello Maja Design friends. Thankyou for returning here today. My project I am sharing with you uses the gorgeous gorgeous collection of Miles Apart.
This is  “My love for you”….
It was when I was going through the absolutely stunning paper collection of Maja Design’s new release “Miles Apart” that I came across a quote from the barcode strip of “Keep in touch”, that I knew this was my starting point.
The quote reads:
“If you listen to the wind very carefully, you’ll be able to hear me whisper my love for you”.
Just beautiful don’t you think? So I found my photo to work with this and went to work. I made lots of layers using torn papers from the Maja collection in the tones of the blues and apricot as in the moodboard below. I couldn’t believe really how close these colours were.

They are as listed below.

Keep in touch “A”
“Keep in touch “B”

“Keeping Busy” “A”

 “Keeping Busy” “B”

I did a little embossing in white around the outside of the background using a stitching stamp from 49andMarket. I also added in some texture using Rangers White Crackle paste and some random stamping in Archival Ink in Watering Can. The barstrip with the quote was cut up and distressed.

I used a number of gorgeous pieces of Dusty Chipboards some you will probably have to look very hard to see but they are there. For me it is all about the layers. So starting off once all my paper layers were down I added in the new release chipboard the “Flowering Vine”. I have used the smaller vine from this pack. It was dressed in white crackle paste along with Inka Golds in the colours of mint and apricot.

I have used a number of flower packs. Some from 49andMarket and some from Prima Marketing to create my flower clusters.

Lots of lace and leaves with pretty flower pearls and muslin were also added in amongst these layers.

Well that is all from me today. I do hope you have enjoyed this blogpost. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very blessed and safe Christmas and New Year.
Can’t wait to see you all back here again next year.
Thanks for calling by.

Hello and welcome Maja Design friends. It has been a little while since I last was here. But I am back finally today to share with you my newest creation called “Let your smile change the world”. I thought this title  was quite apt for our challenging times at present.

So of course being my first project back after a long break, I was so keen to use the latest release papers from Maja Design which is called “Miles Apart”. Oh how my heart melts every time I look at these papers. They are simply so soft and subtle with that always so special vintage aspect of the Maja Design line of papers.
My starting point here was gutting and distressing and then the layering of my papers. I chose the pink from “Distance” to frame the layout and “Stay Home” were used as the centre piece. And then along the way I found the addition of the Aloe from the beautiful 49andMarket Seaside Blooms flowers, helped keeping the project soft and subtle.

Monochromes – Shades of miles – Steel Blue
I chose a portrait photo, that I adore of my youngest, and swapped it to black and white and printed them out in differing sizes. I layered these up on torn sections and cut mats of the leftover “Miles Apart” papers. I also cut a heart freehand from the “Distance” leftovers.
I have used lots of gorgeous Dusty Attic chipboards and 49andMarket flowers to help embellish this project and frame my photos.

All my chipboard pieces were primed with a Liquitex Clear Gesso. This helps to protect the chipboard from becoming too wet from the medias. I think it also gives your chipboard a truer colour from whatever medium you are adding. They were, once dried, coloured with acrylic paints.
I also added in a little random stamping using Walnut Stain distress ink and a 49andMarket stamp. But really I didn’t need to do too much to this background as it had a lot of detail already there.
And the full  Sentimental Quote at the top right of the layout reads :
“Let your smile change the world, but don’t let the world change your smile.”

And that is all from me today.
Until next that I am here, take care and happy crafting.
Hugs

Hello Maja Fans.

Lenet here today,As we look outside in nature we can see Spring is just around the corner.  The early snowdrops are in bloom and the crocus and

grape hyacinth are showing so won”t be long to be there too.

I even saw some some Daffodils in full bloom . At the shops and markets are selling the first tulips, for me that is the real sign that it will be spring soon.

So I made you this lay out using some delicate flowers and green buds ready to burst.

Here a close up, the little dark pink flowers are real dried flowers I saved from a bouquet my Husband gave me for our 25th anniversary.

so I got flowers and craft supplies in one.

For this layout I used  the Vintage Summer Basic collection.  Flowers from 49 and market and from my stash and cheesecloth .

Sentimenst are from Tim Holz small talk. the doilys are made with a summer feelings die from Studio Light.

Thank you for visiting, I hope you like what I made for you.

Hello Maja Fans

Lenet here and today I have this layout for you .

For this layout I used the wonderful new collection Little street Cafe and the monochromes Shades of cafe.

I love this collection because it brings some color into these gray and rainy days .

I think we all are very busy with all the preparations we have to do with all the festivities this December month brings especially Christmas.

I love Christmas and am one of the people that starts thinking about it in the summer when I enjoy the sun outside in my garden .

But to take a break of  all the Christmas that is going on right now , I thought I make something for you that has nothing to do with Christmas at all.

I felt for flowers and color so I came up with this layout.

The flowers I used are from Prima Marketing and Wild orchid.  The swirl-leaf chipboards  from Creative embellishments and colored with Tim Holtz distress powders Tea dye and Peeled paint.

The bling stones are Amethyst Squares sheen Gemstones from Nuvo and the sentiments from the small talks booklet from Tim Holtz.

The cheesecloth on the back of the picture is colored with SweetClover glimmermist from Tattered Angels.

I hope you like what I made for you , thank you for visiting  and make shure you come back for more wonderful inspiration made by the other Maja Girls.

“LOVE” – March Moodboard inspired project with video tutorial by Tina Ollett

Hello and welcome Maja friends.

Tina Ollett with you today to share my inspired Maja Designs Moodboard project for March.

This is “Remember”…..

I have used this photo on many occassions but never in the coloured form. For some unkown reason to myself I never ever knew my daughter was actually wearing a pink dress in this pic until I come across the original cleaning out my photo stash last week. Well I think I can be forgiven because this little girl in the photo is about to turn 14. So it was a while ago that the photo was taken. On this day she had been riding up and down on her scooter when she had a fall from the scooter. She was not impressed that it has happened at all and sat and sulked for some time. I don’t know what made me take the photo but it is a huge favourite of mine.

For my project I have used the papers from the Nyhaven collection. I would have to say that this is my number one on my Maja Design list of collections. I also believe I have made more layouts from this collection than any other in my time on the team.

Eating Out

Strolling along the canal

I have to say that I love to distress my Maja papers. They come up a treat when distressed heavily. And they give a great effect to shabby chic projects. So I did a little tearing and distressing of my photos.

I have added in lots of Dusty Attic chipboards, 49andMarket flowers, muslin, prills and I also added texture to my background page using the mini hearts stencil from Dusty Attic.

You can see the heart stencil above here. They are just so cute.

The crackle effect can be seen above. Leaving your chipboards to dry on their own has a better outcome than heatsetting. It is often hard to wait but I think the wait is well worth it.

And for you, a little video of my creating time during my project “LOVE”. I hope you enjoy it.

That is all from me tonight. I hope you have enjoyed popping by. Thankyou for doing so. And until next time take care and happy scrapping.

Tina x
