Hello Maja Fans and Visitors, welcome to the blog today 🙂

Since I opened my box and saw the gorgeous Vintage Romance papers, I was thinking about making some cards using images from the Love Notes or Ephemera Cards sheets. They really make creating cards for various occasions so easy! And here they are, two cards I made, filled with wamr feelings and beautiful papers 🙂

My first card is a wedding one. I used neutral pastels with a touch of pink:

For the focal image I used one of the tags from the Love Notes paper. The kissing couple is so romantic, perfect for a wedding card 🙂

I cut out the beautifully-shaped tags to create layers and add interest to the card design with all those elaborate curves.

To complete the elegant look of the card, I added guipure lace, mulberry roses and crystal flourishes:

My second card is also connected with warm feelings, but of a different kind 😉 Using the blue and pink palette, I created a card for a friend:

I first layered distressed pieces of paper, choosing the forget-me-not background to symbolise me thinking of my friend 🙂

I used a shaped tag as the background for die-cut words, and then decorated this central image adding lace and vintage ribbon, a metal charm…

…and some flowers with another metal charm, a large wing that also works like a leaf to flowers, or a flourish 🙂

Finally, I added some pearls and gold glitter ink and accented details with glitter. I hope my friend would like it 🙂

And here’s what I used for my cards (I used the small pad papers in some cases):

Apart from papers, I also used: dies: Die-Namics, Prima, Sizzix; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts, Prima; glitter ink: 13@rts; glitter: Ranger; brads: Craftmania; lace, ribbon, metal charms: my stash.

Thank you for visiting the Maja Design blog today! Have a nice day and come back for more inspiration 🙂

Hi there everyone. I have been playing with the gorgeous new collection Vintage Romance and here is a layout I made.
I chose the Passion paper as my background as I love this soft pink colour and delicate pattern. Then I added a little interest by using stencils with pink ink and then with texture paste, followed by light stamping.
To layer under my photo I cut up the papers Walk With Me and Words of Love. I also used little pieces of the Walk with Me paper to go behind the chipboard window and bird cages. Lastly I used the B side of She’s My Lady to die cut some Tim Holtz Doilies.
I used ink to colour my chipboard and added them to the page with some flowers.
Then finally I used embossing ink to stamp butterfly images onto vellum and coloured with pink embossing powder.

Hello there!

My name is Mary Catt. I’m so happy, for being here today, as a guest designer, in this amazingly talented team and with the most beautiful papers.

Mary-Catt

Well, before I start, let me introduce my self… I live in beautiful Greece with my awesome husband and our three wonderful children. I work full time as a secretary in a private secondary education school. I met scrapbooking two years ago and since then I became an obsessed scraper… oh yes, I’m addicted to it, what can I do?

I still consider myself as a beginner and I’m always trying to improve my skills. I mostly do layouts but I love design tags, cards, mini albums, canvases and altered items as well. My style is mixed media, with a little vintage and some shabby chic touches. I love working with Maja Desing papers. They are so chic and elegance! I also love using my stencils, pastes and mists. Flowers and embellishments are always present in my projects.

I’m so excited to share with you, two layouts, I made with these beautiful papers!

Layout

For the first one, I used the ‘’Colorful’’ and the ‘’Picking Flowers’’ papers, from the ‘’Enjoying Outdoors’’ Collection.

Enjoying-Outdoors-P

I tore the ‘’Colorful’’ paper in half and glued it, in the lower half of the other paper. I love the vintage feel the torn papers are giving.

To design my background I used Finnabair white crackle paste with a floral stencil. When it was dried I added the ‘’Open Arms Amethyst’’ and ‘’Tea Pot Purple’’ Lindy’s Stamp Gang mists. Then it was the time for some stamping.

Close up 3

My ‘’2Crafty’’ flourish chipboards were covered at first with white crackle paste and then I colored them with ‘’Seedless Preserves’’ Distress ink.

The title was primed with gesso and also colored with the same ink.

I added my floral clusters and my favorite Prima die cut doily mixing with a little sisal.

A final touch with some splatters and some Prima crystals here and there and my page was ready.

Now, for the second layout I used the ‘’Vintage Autumn Basics’’ Collection and the No. IV, No. V, No. VI and No.XVI papers.

Layout

In the center of my paper I glued down two torn strips of paper one against the other. Then I mixed Finnabair Light Paste with Peach Opal Mica powder and applied with two different stencils.

I heat embossed my chipboards and die cuts with Lindy’s Stamp Gang embossing powders ”Midnight Ruby” and ”Angel Wings Ruby”. Then I made some random stamping.

Close up 2

I added a big floral cluster on the one side of my round chipboard and placed my embellishments.

To finish my layout I made some splashes with ”Clam Bake Beige” Lindy’s mist and glued some pearls.

Camilla, thank you so much, for inviting me as a guest designer!!! It’s been a real pleasure for me!!!

Hi Everyone, I hope you have a great weekend 🙂

Today it is me, Silje Kristin who stop by the Maja Design blog, with a new project created with the new collection, Vintage Romance <3
I will love to show you my new box, a old box that I give a new life to, with paper sheets and details.

My Boyfrien got a new watch in a birthday gift, the box for this watch was a tall black box, where the lid is as high as the box itself. From before I have made project with the pink sheets, the blue sheets and the bright sheets. On this project I’ve used the green paper from the new collection Vintage Romance. The whole project is based on romance and love <3

Vintage-Romance-P

I’ve used 3 different patterned sheets in a green tone. Two of these sheets I used on the outside of the box, one of them I have used a punch from Martha Stwart on, only to make some life on the walls. I also have used a ribbon in a grey colour and the box itself stands on four silver feet.

On top of the box , I’ve created a frame and in the frame I have a images of a man and a woman. This image is taken from one sheet called Love Notes. Inside of the frame I have used a pearl string in a green color, the same pearls I’ve used on the lid of the box.

Since pink is a color that fits the green very good, I have chosen to use flowers in pink and someone in a bright green color. Under the flowers is the bronze leaves that are embossed with Shabby White and behind the picture there are three small glass bottles with pearls in pink, green and white. The flowers are from Wild Orchids and Papirdesign.

The box is decorated on the outside, but the surprise is under the ild. If you taking of the ild, you will find a four tierd wedding cake. The cake stands out, since it is made with the very lightest sheets in the collection, I have used the 6×6 paper pad to make the cake. The cake is decorated with ribbon, pearls, bling and three large flowers on the top.

A perfect cake for the Wedding Day <3
