Hello!

Scandinavia is experiencing warmest Summer we’ve had for ages. That might not set you in the perfect mood for crafting but there will probably be a rainy day or two further on. Since this is a double month challenge you will have plently of time to make the deadline in the end of August. If you are new to our you will find the simple rules below. Don’t miss out! We would love to see how you interpret this Mood Board…

This is how we use the mood boards:

Definition mood board – n

[a board used by designers on which samples of various colours and textures are mounted to help in deciding which elements complement each other]

We are using mood boards for our challenges. We truly believe in creativity and art at Maja Design. You are free to interpret the mood boards in any way you’d like. They are supposed to set you in an inspirational mood without too much controlling. We would like you to be inspired by the poems, words and photos. They are not given rules, they are just there as inspiration. However – we highly recommend you to follow the theme.. Feel free to use any Maja papers you’d like as long as they follow the colour scheme.

We will pick a winner and present it here on the blog on the 28th of August.

Have in mind that these challenges are a really great way for us to discover new talents and maybe some future Creative Team members…

How to participate?

♥ Create anything you’ll like – a layout, a card, something altered or maybe a canvas. Use Maja papers primarily! Take a nice picture of it and send it to moodboard@majadesign.nu. We also need to know your full name, address and a phone number. Please specify what collection you would like to win, if you are the lucky one. We will also want to know if you would like it in the size 12*12 or 6*6. Please send us the pictures in the size of 800 pixels on the width. We would be so grateful if you also could change the file name of the photo to your first and last name including your country.

♥ Feel free to send us more than one picture, from different angles or some close-ups – or why not more than one project?

♥ Publish the project/s on your blog (or/and any social media, e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest) with a link to our site. Please also add the image of the mood board.

♥ Feel free to combine your entry with other challenges.

♥ The winner will be revealed the last Tuesday each month, at the Maja blog. The winner will be sent one collection by their choice.

We need your entry by August 26th at the latest.

Hello! Nice to see you here today!
Lazy summer days are passing by here in Scandinavia right now. Life is more about spending time with family and friends and creating the memories to put in your scrap book later, when fall arrives, than it is about spending time in your craft room. A few of you did still manage to make some art for this month’s challenge and it’s time to announce the winner…

Hello Sweeties

Today I’m up on Maja Design blog with a new layout featuring the Ska vi ta en Fika? collection I chose a photo I’ve taken during an event at the castle of l’Islette (Loire Valley, France).

The Stag Man by Pascale B.

I stamped randomly with a black ink before priming the background with clear gesso. Next, I added a design with a stencil and clear crackle paste.

The Stag Man by Pascale B.

When the paste was dried, I splattered some white gesso and different metallic paints. Next, I replaced the stencil and I added some waxes on top of the crackle paste.

The Stag Man by Pascale B.

I die cut some leaves and a doily. I painted the vines with different acrylic paints and the summer leaves with waxes.

I painted a few flowers with metallic paints as well as the doily in violet. I colored also some Art Stones with a black ink.

I cut a few papers to add under the photo and I glued all the embellishments.

To finish the layout I added some glitters.

Goodmorning Maja Design Fans,

So nice of you to visit the Maja Design blog today, it’s been a long time since I last created something about three months I think. Not that I didn’t want to but my little family was struggeling with some issues and now we are all on the mend again with me having more time to get creative yeahh…. For today I would like to show you a layout that has been on my desk for that last three months {in pieces tho…}. I used two of my favorite collections Nyhavn & Denim and Friends.

On this layout I used some pretty lace from Tresors de Luxe, I also added a stencil with some paste and ink with a script stamp by our very own Pascale. The picture I got from pinterest. My uncle from Florida brought me some pearl bling when he visited last May that I used one this layout aswell.

I got myself a new phone and I am still figuring out how I can make my pictures look like the actual colors as my layouts are. So some of the close ups look a bit yellow sorry for that.

Maja Design papers used: Denim & Friends: Fashion & Sunbleached, Nyhavn: a dockside in bloom.

Thank you very much for your visit, I hope I have inspired you to go and create something beautiful with your Maja papers. Have a wonderful & sunny day!

Love xoxo

Hello friends,

It’s time for a new inspiration summer layout.

I love to use structure paper and try out new ideas.

I had some leftovers from a white wallpaper and thought, a beautiful texture,

can wallpaper be inked in?, which color is suitable?

I used a piece of wallpaper in the centre of my maritim layout,

a perfect addition for me to the beautiful papers from Maja Design.

some details

I tried with Glimmer Mist from Tatterd Angels and I must say, it’s a wonderful amazing effect, because it doesn’t spread evenly

and the end result will be very natural.

a wordlet chipboard from Scrap FX painted with acrylic paints from DecoArt

I used also some cutting dies from Joy craft (waves, kelp) and added some

handmade embellishmets made with molds and modelling clay.

I wish you all a wonderful summertime!
