Welcome friends!

Recently we have made a beautiful winter trip in the mountains ‘Harz’.

Snow and ice magically transformed the landscape into a winter fairy tale.

… and then we discovered a beautiful castle that looks like

it was torn right from the pages of a storybook.

I choose for my mixed media layout the ”Sparkle” paper from the Maja Design ”Joyous Winterdays” collection.

I started as always by applying a coat of clear gesso on the background and then I cut out a handmade half moon from a white structure paper. I painted the moon with some watercolors and a little bit glitter paint and some deco stars for a magical effect.

It was a good background for a Dusty Attic chipboard and some winter trees made with cutting dies.

and  some another close up’s

a small cluster in the upper left corner

snow texture and glitter paints for some dreamy winter impressions

another bigger cluster made with frosted roses, silver winter berries, feathers and laces

I framed the cut out photo with a chipboard and used the moon as magical background.

I colored the flourish frame with white acrylic paint only on some places and white embossing powder to match to a wintry layout.

a wooden tree disc, snow paint and some paper leftovers

and a beautiful saying on a tag as addition and memory on a wonderful day

used Maja Design papers from the ‘Joyous Winterdays’ collection

Many thanks for your visit and I hope I could inspire you to create your very own, amazing idea.

Happy crafting!

Hi everyone! Here I am back with a winter card for you, using the lovely papers from the latest collection called Chrismas Season. I have also used some of the Monochrome papers.

There are a few, but so beautiful blue papers in this collection.  I love using them!

The shape of the card is made with a GoKreate die. But many of the small dies are from Magnolia. Recently I bought myself a new toy, called Sizzix Sidekick. It is a small version of a Big shot. It is so handy to cut out all the small dies with it.

Both image, papers and flowers go in blue and white shades. And I have added several layers. The image from Magnolia is coloured with Distress Ink, re-inkers and Markers.

Aren’t these tassels the cutest?!

Here comes a list over the papers used:

Thank you so much for visiting the Maja blog today!

With love

Hello dear friends!

Mary with you today and I have a new layout with a video tutorial to share with you. I made it for my January inspiration using papers from the gorgeous ”Denim & Friends” colection and some of my favorite chipboards which I placed around a beautiful photo I found on Pinterest.

When I saw it I knew I had to scrap it and the Maja Design papers along with The Dusty Attic chipboards were just perfect for it. But, before I continue more I want to give all the proper credits to the ”unknown” photographer.

You can watch all the procedure here…

And here are some close ups…

I choose for my page the ”Worn Indigo” paper from the Maja Design ”Denim & Friends” collection. I started by applying a coat of clear gesso on the background and then I created texture with modeling paste and a stencil.

Made some stamping here and there and used a Lindy’s Gang spray to add color.

Next, I painted all the Dusty Attic chipboards with Finnabair acrylic paints.

When everything was glued down I added some art stones and glass beads. The final touch was made with some splatters with white acrylic ink.

I hope you enjoyed my project!

Thank you for stopping by!

For Grandma And Grandpa

Good morning, Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today 🙂

I think grandparents are second important people in a child’s life, right after parents. In Poland it is common that retired grandparents take care of their grandchildren when the parents are at work. And so they play a very important role in kids’ life, helping to raise them and spending a lot of time with them. And I think grandparents so much deserve a special celebration! And so in January we celebrate Grandmother’s Day on the 21st and Grandfather’s Day on the 22nd. For that occasion I made two cards:

I used the Denim & Friends collection for both cards. For the card for grandma I used the turqouise hues of the collection, using also some Monochromes sheets.

I used a humorous carved chipboard pieces for my cards, and I decorated them adding a bit of colour and some glitter. Then I put each piece against a background of layered papers:

I also added a flower cluster and some pearl brads to the grandma’s card:

In the card for grandpa, I opted for the brown-navy blue palette:

I added screw-like brads and a star charm tied on plaid-patterned ribbon:

I think grandparents would appreciate hand-made cards from their grandchildren more than anything money can buy 🙂

And here’s the list of my supplies:

Maja Design papers:

Other: stamps: Lemonade; chipboard pieces: Egocraft; brads: Craftmania, Rayher; dies: Rosy Owl, Spellinders; flowers: Prima, Wild Orchid Crafts; button: Lemoncraft; crystal gems: Prima; ribbon: my stash.

And that is all for today – see you soon!

Hello.  Jennifer Snyder here to share a little sunshine and warmth on a blustery cold winter day.  It’s only January but I still look toward the summer sunshine.  In my opinion, it’s never too soon to daydream about the summer.

To help my summer mood,  I am using the gorgeous Summertime collection by Maja Design.
The Summertime collection features beautiful raspberry pinks and reds with soft blues.
Here are the sheets I used from the Summertime paper collection:
Flowers Everywhere (A and B side of paper)
Garden Bouquet (A and B side of paper)
The nested medallions were created using Spellbinders dies.

When you are working with beautiful papers, it’s easy to see that even simple cards have grace and will make someone smile.

Thanks for stopping at Maja Design.  Happy crafting.
